"Is your second wish really going to be this simple? Are you sure you don't want to change it?" Porunga dropped the pretense and spoke frankly.
At this point, he even wanted Vegeta to choose a more difficult wish. Granting a life-form the ability to survive in space was far too easy for him.
"No need. If it's simple, then let's hurry up and make it happen. There's still a third wish, after all," Vegeta said.
Now that was what a dragon should say.
Earth Shenron might have had a jaw-dropping appearance, but when it came to granting wishes, all you could do was laugh...
"Very well. I'll grant your second wish now." As Porunga spoke, red light flashed in his eyes once more.
Vast, boundless wish-granting power once again became a miraculous force, bestowing a wondrous ability on Vegeta at the most fundamental level.
"I can feel that the activity of the cells in my body has changed. What's going on? Surely one ability alone couldn't cause such a huge reaction in my body?" Vegeta was astonished. Feeling his strength rise once more, he asked the question.
Porunga nodded, looking as if this were only natural. "Of course. The ability to survive in space is rather limited, so I improved the cellular structure in your body on that basis. This gave your body a much stronger ability to heal itself. You can even regenerate severed limbs to a certain extent! Finally, strengthening your cells also indirectly increased your potential and helped you develop it. There isn't a great deal of room for further development, but you should be able to feel that you're somewhat stronger now than before."
Not only had he gained the ability to survive in space and heal himself, but his potential had increased, and his strength had improved...
That had saved him several wishes at once!
He'd originally wondered whether he should try wishing for the body and regenerative abilities of Majin Buu. It seemed there was no need to go through all that trouble now.
Sure, his version was a watered-down one, but it was enough for him.
If he really pushed too hard to obtain Majin Buu's body and regenerative abilities, he might end up as a Majin rather than a Saiyan.
"I'm grateful. You've solved so many problems for me at once and cleared my head, so I won't have to worry about them anymore." To be honest, Vegeta wondered if Porunga could read his mind. Otherwise, how had he so naturally granted everything Vegeta had thought of?
"I only enhanced your wishes a little. I haven't done anything that violates the rules. Now you can tell me your third wish. This time, make sure it isn't another simple one," Porunga continued.
Hearing him say that, Vegeta let go of his doubts.
Why dwell on whether Porunga had read his mind?
His wishes had already been granted, which meant they had come true. What he needed to think about now was his third wish.
He'd had many wishes he wanted to make, but after Porunga's series of improvements, it was genuinely difficult to choose.
He pondered for quite a while. Only after Porunga urged him again did Vegeta finally settle on something. He looked up and met the dragon's gaze.
"%¥#@&*¥%...(My third wish is for me, and all my future family and descendants, to live forever and never suffer from illness!)"
Immortality! Freedom from illness!
It was a wish countless transmigrators had dreamed of making.
Now that Vegeta had said it aloud, he had finally put that particular concern to rest.
The most frustrating thing about the Dragon Ball world was that no matter how strong you were, it was difficult to escape aging, sickness, and death.
Of course, whether you became immortal after attaining godhood in the later stages of Dragon Ball Super was unknown.
When he'd transmigrated, the Super storyline was still unfolding, and immortality hadn't come up. Still, he figured that gods were at least different from ordinary people.
"Is that your third wish?" Porunga murmured.
For a moment, he fell silent.
The first two wishes had indeed been simple, with very little difficulty. But this one was suddenly much harder.
Porunga even regretted speaking so casually earlier.
After quite a while without an answer from Porunga, Vegeta's heart sank.
"What's wrong? Can you not grant this wish?" Vegeta asked.
Huge beads of cold sweat ran down Porunga's face. He hesitated for a moment before answering, "If it were only you, then this wish could indeed be granted. But there is something you need to know: once you gain an immortal body like that, you will lose the ability to have children. As for your future partner, they may be affected by you to a certain extent and gain some degree of longevity, remaining youthful and free of illness, but they will not be immortal. They would need to make a separate wish for that."
After hearing Porunga's explanation, Vegeta more or less understood.
So the price of immortality was that his body would be altered, leaving him unable to have children.
"In that case, do you still want me to grant this wish?" Porunga looked at Vegeta, waiting for his answer.
After a long while, a sudden flash of inspiration crossed Vegeta's mind. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly as he said, "What if I change the wish to eternal youth? Would I still lose the ability to have children? And if you can grant it while preserving that ability, would my future family, including my children, all inherit this eternal youth?"
He was changing the details. The wish would no longer be for immortality, only eternal youth, but he would still live a long time.
"If that's what you wish for, then it can be done. But your extended lifespan won't be all that long. It may only last from several hundred to a thousand years... Also, this ability to pass it on will be attached to you. You can grant eternal youth to your future partner, but any children you have together will inherit only half the effect. Then the children your own children have will inherit an even weaker effect..." Porunga's answer barely met the minimum requirements Vegeta had set in his mind.
Even so, it was already an outrageous deal.
It wouldn't just grant eternal youth to him. It could preserve it for three or even four generations.
"Then that's settled. Grant this wish, Porunga," Vegeta said with a nod.
"Very well. I'll grant it now." Red light flashed in Porunga's eyes.
Once again, wish-granting power became a miraculous force, thoroughly transforming Vegeta.
The ability had been bestowed without changing his essence, so it wouldn't alter the fact that he was a Saiyan.
A little over ten seconds later, Vegeta had already noticed the changes in his body. He had also gained the ability to grant eternal youth to women.
He could choose to grant eternal youth to any woman he had relations with, or take it back, and there was no limit to how many women he could bestow it upon.
Porunga truly lived up to his reputation. He never disappointed.
