With the wishes granted, Porunga departed. Vegeta's wishes had all come true, and they'd even been fully optimized.
It had to be said: Vegeta didn't realize until after the wishes were granted just how easily they'd been fulfilled.
It was as if some mysterious force had secretly made his wishes come true.
Even though Porunga was the most accommodating of the dragons, there was no reason he should have gone so far out of his way to help Vegeta.
After thinking it over, two likely possibilities came to mind.
First, perhaps Porunga had realized he wasn't the original Vegeta! His arrival would change this world considerably, so Porunga was making an investment!
Of course, that was probably unlikely. Vegeta was just wildly speculating, with nothing to back it up.
The second possibility seemed more likely: the Grand Elder had secretly contacted Porunga and found a way to help Vegeta fulfill his three wishes as perfectly as possible.
It was a reward for Vegeta, and also a way of thanking him for defeating the invaders and still being willing to help the Namekians fend off powerful enemies.
Whatever the reason, his wishes had come true, and that was what mattered.
There was no point dwelling on anything else.
Now that my wishes have come true, all I need to do is train further and see just how powerful the abilities I wished for are. Vegeta thought to himself.
There were still a few other wishes he wanted granted, but Shenron Porunga could only grant three wishes at a time.
Of course, as he'd said before, Porunga had already saved him several wishes by fulfilling quite a few things all at once.
Even if he still wanted other wishes granted, he only had to wait 130 days for the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek to recharge. Then he could use them again.
As for the claim that making too many wishes would create negative energy and give birth to Shadow Dragons, Vegeta wasn't worried at all.
If he was strong enough, what did he have to fear?
Take the Shadow Dragons that emerged from Earth's Dragon Balls in the original story. Were they really that scary?
No!!
Their strength was nothing special. Even Super Omega Shenron was far weaker than Beerus, the God of Destruction.
So if the Shadow Dragons ever did appear, and Vegeta had reached a level comparable to Beerus by then, he wouldn't need to worry about them at all.
After returning to the Grand Elder's home, Vegeta spoke with him for a long while and thanked him again.
Once they'd finished exchanging pleasantries, Vegeta took his leave.
He wasn't one to beat around the bush. Once he'd said what mattered, he didn't keep repeating himself.
He simply mentioned that the Ginyu Force wouldn't arrive for another three days, and that he would deal with them when they did.
Of course, that was what he said, but really, Vegeta hoped Kakarot would arrive at the same time as the Ginyu Force, so he could let Kakarot handle them.
He had no interest in the Ginyu Force's current level of strength.
Besides, Vegeta wanted to see whether Kakarot was stronger than he'd been at this point in the original story.
After all, Vegeta had already changed the course of events. North Kai had surely told Kakarot what was happening here, so given Kakarot's personality, he would undoubtedly train even harder. Reaching a battle power of over 100,000 shouldn't be a problem.
With the Kaioken, Goku could unleash power in the millions, even without fully tapping into his potential.
That was a million! The battle power of Frieza's second form!!
When he stepped outside, Vegeta focused his attention on Bulma.
Everyone tensed, unsure what Vegeta was about to do.
Krillin and Son Gohan were especially nervous. They moved to shield Bulma.
Bulma's heart leaped into her throat.
"W-what do you want with me?" Bulma stammered.
Although her opinion of him had changed, Vegeta was still so cold and distant, like an iceberg radiating an aura that made people afraid to approach.
"I need you to do something for me. You'll have to come with me," Vegeta said.
"Huh?? Come with you???" Bulma exclaimed, her mouth falling open.
"What do you want Aunt Bulma to do?"
"We're not letting you take Bulma away by yourself!"
Son Gohan and Krillin grew even more wary when they heard him.
"If I had bad intentions, would you two be able to stop me?" Vegeta couldn't be bothered with them. He gave them a disdainful glance, then looked back at Bulma. "I need you to help me modify a spaceship. With your intelligence, you should be able to do it."
"Modify... a spaceship?" Bulma repeated, looking uncertain.
It was true that she was a genius, but how did Vegeta know that?
Bulma didn't ask. After hesitating for a moment, she made up her mind. "All right. If that's all, I can give it a try. I just don't know what you want changed. My knowledge of technology is limited, and the only spaceship I've ever worked with is this one belonging to the Namekians."
Krillin and Son Gohan weren't happy that Bulma had agreed, but since she'd already said yes, they couldn't stop her. All they could do was think how reckless Bulma was being.
Vegeta still ignored Krillin and Son Gohan. He nodded and continued, "Then come with me. Don't worry, I can guarantee your safety. Whether or not you can do it, no one will be able to hurt you."
"You said it." Bulma's eyes lit up, and she wasn't sure why she believed him.
All she knew was that she felt Vegeta wasn't lying to her.
And so, aboard Frieza's spaceship, Vegeta and the others left.
At Vegeta's command, his subordinates headed toward the spaceship he'd arrived in.
The spaceship he wanted modified was the one he'd traveled here on.
Specifically, he wanted its gravity simulator upgraded.
Fifty times gravity was too low. Vegeta needed it to simulate much stronger gravity, ideally two hundred or even three hundred times Earth's gravity.
Of course, that would be difficult to achieve in the short term, so even a hundred times Earth's gravity would be enough for now.
Frieza's personal spaceship had a gravity simulator too, though its maximum setting was about the same.
So he'd have Bulma practice on the medium-sized spaceship first. It wouldn't matter if she broke it.
When she learned exactly what he wanted modified, Bulma was surprised.
She hadn't studied this area in depth, but according to the information her father had given her, Goku's spaceship had been equipped with a simulator capable of producing one hundred times Earth's gravity.
So when Vegeta asked for the same sort of modification, Bulma immediately thought of training.
She just couldn't understand why Vegeta still wanted to train when he was already so powerful.
