The next morning.
After a night of restful sleep, the group prepared to continue exploring the City of Star-Gazing, searching for any underground bases that might exist.
"If we don't root these people out, sooner or later they'll bring even more disasters down on us," Oren explained.
"I've always suspected that this flesh plague was a viral creation that leaked out of their experiments. Its symptoms have far too much in common with those mutated creatures they cultivated."
"Originally, I was worried we wouldn't have enough fighting strength this time, and that we might encounter a powerful sixth-order master. But with Miss Sylutia's help, I believe we can defeat the enemy." As a Bard, his voice roused everyone's spirits, kindling their confidence.
The six then divided up the work. Anali paired up with Mick, using ghosts to explore underground and search for possible entrances. Oren and Luke would search the City of Star-Gazing's sewers, while Sylutia and Camilla would look for old architectural plans or city layouts for clues.
"We'll meet up at nightfall. If you find anything before then, activate your magic orb to notify the others." With that settled, they split up and set to work.
Sylutia and Camilla first headed to the office the Alliance had previously established in the City of Star-Gazing. Although the people
had left the building empty, some things had been left behind.
After rummaging around inside for a while, they found a report. It was quite old, written roughly 140 years ago, when Alliance officials had conducted a comprehensive survey of the City of Star-Gazing.
The survey's purpose was to assess how much longer this land would take to recover, and to check whether any ruins or personnel of the Star-Gazer School remained after the Battle of Peak Seizure.
