He consistently surrendered his personal gains under team policy, only to receive a mediocre evaluation, lose his temporary-worker status, and be assigned another unfunded high-risk mission. This betrayal drives him to seek strength independently rather than rely on the organization that discarded him. 2 3

He acquires a Key to the Human-Bingzi-Twelve Yanfu Event through Wan’an Engineering and enters Great Qin territory. There, his Flesh of Vision allows him to survive legal punishments, infiltrate the Law Guards by assuming Heifu’s identity, and navigate Qin law through deception as much as force. 3 5 6 7

After being exposed during a mechanism-warrior encirclement, Chen Jin discards the Heifu persona and publicly reveals his true name. Rather than flee, he returns to rescue Wang Wu, Ju, and Ji from an execution trap, choosing responsibility to his comrades over survival. 27
