Background / History

Madara was first encountered as a child beside a river with Senju Hashirama, his close friend despite the feud between their clans. Bai Sui initially considered killing him to prevent the future emergence of the Mangekyo, Rinnegan, and Ōtsutsuki-related disasters, but recognized that Madara was still a child shaped by a violent world. 42

When Uchiha Tajima and Senju Butsuma tried to kill one another’s sons, Madara and Hashirama each protected their own younger brother. Bai Sui intervened before either attack could land. 47 Madara later awakened the Mangekyo after watching his father die, inheriting the duty to lead the Uchiha Clan. 54 114

After succeeding Tajima as clan head, Madara detected Bai Sui’s divine-sense probe from outside Uchiha territory and confronted him cautiously. He sought methods to strengthen his spirit for Izuna’s sake, accepting Bai Sui’s Visualization and Meditation methods. 54 56
