Sirius quickly caught up with Harry Potter, chasing after his godson. Nothing mattered more to him than Harry Potter's safety. If he could, he wouldn't have stayed here for another second, keeping an eye on that loathsome bunch of Dursleys.
Dewey waited where he was, calm and composed.
Marge had already taken off.
How long could it be before the Ministry's people arrived?
The Accidental Magic Reversal Squad was a small department, with only a handful of people working on the third floor of the Ministry of Magic. Even during office hours, there were only a few people in the office.
Those few were responsible for every abnormal incident in the English Magical World, and they were always working at full capacity.
Dewey patiently turned into a Golden Beetle and waited for the two officers to arrive.
Harry Potter's magic had remarkable staying power. Ripper, the dog, barked furiously and hopped around the inflated Aunt Marge, trying to catch her pant leg in his teeth and tug her down.
Unfortunately, Aunt Marge was still growing, swelling to a size that was enough to panic anyone. The little dog couldn't get his jaws around a thigh that enormous.
Dewey found it fascinating.
If an ordinary person had swollen to Aunt Marge's size, they would have gone "pop" and burst like a firework long ago.
But magic was called magic because it could do things ordinary people couldn't.
Swaying and drifting,
the plus-sized Aunt Marge floated out of Uncle Vernon's house. Petunia and Vernon chased after her, jumping and trying to pull her down.
They were frantic with worry.
Only Dudley "the little darling," dressed in his little dress robes with his chubby belly bulging out, stood in the doorway, giggling without a care in the world.
His aunt was being blown into the sky, but instead of worrying, he was delighted.
He even ate two more pieces of cake.
Dewey looked at the cake in Dudley's hand and swallowed.
Fortunately, he was only a Golden Beetle now.
Otherwise, he would definitely have tried a taste of that cake.
"That cake looks really delicious."
Flapping his wings, Dewey followed behind Vernon as they chased after her.
Dewey had actually done something good, in a way. He'd smashed all the streetlights along the way, which would help the two members of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad who were about to arrive. They'd have fewer Obliviates to cast.
They ought to thank him.
Dewey thought.
After following Marge for most of the street, two wizards finally flew down from the sky, a man and a woman.
They rode on broomsticks and landed on the ground. Looking up at Aunt Marge, neither of them seemed surprised.
They were here to deal with this, after all.
"Oh, what a dreadful day."
One of the wizards said. He drew his wand and cast Obliviate on Marge and Vernon, making sure that after they went home and had a nap, they wouldn't remember Harry Potter's underage use of magic.
The other cast Finite Incantatem on Marge.
They were both old hands, and knew exactly what they were doing.
Once they had lifted Aunt Marge's unusual condition, the two wizards prepared to head back.
They were even discussing what to have for dinner that night.
That was when Dewey suddenly appeared!
He changed back into human form behind the witch. Before she could react, he grabbed her and slammed a full-force punch into her jaw!
With a thud, the witch was knocked off her feet.
"Protego!"
He roared the incantation before throwing his punch, and a ghostly shield appeared at his side.
Startled by the man who had appeared out of nowhere, the other wizard instinctively cast Stupefy. But Dewey had anticipated his move, and the Stunning Spell struck the shield and was blocked.
The shield hadn't even cracked!
His level-three Protego had stopped the wizard's Stupefy.
As the wizard prepared to cast another spell, Dewey picked up the witch's wand, pointed it at him, and shouted the dreaded words, "Avada Kedavra"!
A flash of sickly green magic struck the wizard.
The wizard's eyes widened in shock.
He seemed to want one last look at the place where the spell had hit him, but a weakness that came from deep within his soul washed over him, and he lost consciousness.
He dropped to the ground with a thud.
It was impossible to tell whether he was alive or dead.
Only after the dust had settled did Dewey finally breathe a sigh of relief.
He had worked out every move of that fight in his head beforehand. He had only 80 points of magic. The Animagus transformation had cost 50, and casting Protego without a wand had cost 5.
That left him with 25 points of magic.
Casting with the Purple Card Wand cost 10 points of magic.
In other words, after taking down two Ministry wizards, he still had 15 points of magic left.
He had enough left to cast Avada Kedavra one more time.
As expected, Dewey had easily taken out the two Ministry officers, but he wasn't particularly excited about it.
Ministry officers weren't necessarily powerful. Neville's grandmother had even taken down an elite Ministry Auror. Dewey didn't think he was any better than Neville's grandmother.
Two cards had fallen to the ground. Dewey picked them up.
One was Stupefy.
The other was Obliviate.
[Obliviate]
[Obliviate: With this spell, you can even change another person's memories. It is magic that targets the soul. Learn it, and you can travel freely throughout the Wizarding World.]
["Hello, my name is Lockhart."]
"Obliviate. Not a bad card."
Dewey walked over to the wizard, intending to take his wand, but he hadn't expected that the wizard, who had taken a hit from Avada Kedavra, was still breathing faintly.
He was still alive?
"Hm?"
Dewey crouched down and examined him carefully. He found that he hadn't been mistaken: the wizard really was still alive.
His Avada Kedavra hadn't taken the wizard's life.
He had only been knocked unconscious.
"Level-one Avada. Not lethal enough?"
Dewey thought with a frown. Even the Three Unforgivable Curses had different effects depending on who used them.
His Avada Kedavra and Voldemort's Avada Kedavra were completely different things.
Voldemort hadn't favored Avada Kedavra in his early days. He was known as a master of Dark Magic, and it wasn't for nothing.
Voldemort had created many kinds of Dark Magic himself.
Before he became the snake-faced man, he liked to carry out "justice" personally with Dark Magic.
To use Dark Magic, you had to want to hurt someone. The stronger that desire, the more powerful the spell.
That was why the more people used Dark Magic, the more extreme they became.
By the end, Voldemort didn't even regard people as human.
In the original story, Harry had used Crucio on Bellatrix after she killed Sirius. Unfortunately, his desire to torture her wasn't strong enough, so Bellatrix hadn't suffered.
The spell hadn't had enough effect on Bellatrix.
The same was probably true of the cards. The higher the level of the Avada Kedavra card, the greater its killing power.
A level-one Avada wasn't lethal enough.
With that thought, Dewey picked up the wizard's wand.
After taking both wands for himself, he mercilessly beat the two wizards. Cards spilled from their bodies in large numbers. Determined to fleece every last bit of wool from them, he kept attacking the pair while Marge, Vernon, and Petunia stared at him in shock.
"Ah!"
Whether it was Marge or Petunia, one of them finally couldn't take any more of the brutal sight and let out a scream before bolting away.
The three Muggles ran off, and Dewey didn't bother to deal with them.
They probably wouldn't be having their memories erased anytime soon.
The two officers the Ministry had sent to handle the incident were lying on the ground, leaving no one to cast Obliviate on them.
They had enough trouble looking after themselves.
After he'd beaten them enough, Dewey gathered up the coins they had on them, transformed into Flying Ants, and hid nearby.
Not long after he'd hidden himself, the Ministry's elite Auror Kingsley Apparated to the scene. He saw the two wizards lying on the ground, covered in blood, and took out his wand to look around.
He couldn't find the attacker.
Looking at the two men on the ground, he felt a headache coming on. He'd seen plenty of wizards who had suffered under curses, but this was the first time he'd seen anyone beaten like this with fists and feet.
"What a lunatic."
Unable to make sense of Dewey's actions, he could only label him a lunatic.
He quickly summoned Ministry personnel to take the men to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. When Fudge heard the news, he let out a shriek and completely lost his composure!
"What did you say? Dewey Jones showed up near Harry Potter's home!
Oh, oh, oh! Nothing could be worse!"
Fudge wailed in his room at the Leaky Cauldron.
He was waiting for Harry Potter at the Leaky Cauldron, and when he heard the news, his vision went dark.
"Dumbledore, I need to write to Dumbledore. Whether it's Sirius or Dewey Jones, they're both after Harry Potter.
We can't underestimate Dewey Jones anymore.
He's dangerous too.
Harry Potter must not be harmed!"
Fudge rambled on as he picked up a quill and started writing a letter. Sweat was already beading on his head again.
He realized he had still underestimated Dewey Jones. This little-known Death Eater seemed to be after Harry Potter. What was he planning to do?
Harm Harry Potter and avenge the Dark Lord?
No, he couldn't let that happen!
He absolutely couldn't let a prisoner of Azkaban hurt Harry Potter.
If Harry Potter was harmed by an Azkaban prisoner, Fudge feared he'd have even less chance of keeping his position as Minister for Magic.
At that thought, Fudge decided he needed to strengthen the pursuit order for Dewey Jones.
He needed help from the people in the Ministry!
"Malfoy. I need Malfoy's help."
He said with certainty, then wrote another letter to Lucius Malfoy!
