Though he was reluctant to leave, Grandpa Son Gohan ultimately had to return to the Other World.
After entrusting his granddaughter, his only remaining concern, to them, the free-spirited old man refused the idea of using the Dragon Balls to bring him back to life and departed this world with a smile.
"Remember to burn a wedding photo for me!" the thick-browed old man said with a smile in his final moment before leaving.
"Burn..." Under the circumstances, such an ominous thing to say somehow seemed perfectly reasonable, which left Zhang Wutian feeling all sorts of awkward.
The interaction between the living and the dead had come to an end. As promised, Fortuneteller Baba began to divine the location of the final Dragon Ball for Zhang Wutian.
"What you seek is in a town two thousand kilometers from here."
The crystal ball revealed where the Dragon Ball was. Zhang Wutian carefully memorized the appearance of the house.
"Let's go, Wukong. We'll get the last Dragon Ball."
"Okay!" Son Wukong nodded, and the two of them took off toward the direction Fortuneteller Baba had indicated, using the Flight Technique.
"Being able to fly freely sure is convenient." Looking up as the two vanished in an instant, Yamcha said enviously.
"The Crane School's Flight Technique can only be used by someone with a profound understanding of ki. You've still got a long way to go." Master Roshi took the opportunity to knock his disciple down a peg.
"Do you still have the right to say that? The boy Zhang isn't your disciple, but that little girl is wearing the Turtle Hermit School's martial arts uniform, isn't she? Your own student has already surpassed you." Fortuneteller Baba teased from the side.
"Every master gets surpassed by his students eventually," Master Roshi said calmly. "You two, keep working hard and try to surpass me as soon as possible."
"Yes, Master!" Yamcha and Krillin answered energetically.
Little did they know, Master Roshi was crying on the inside.
"Those two brats are absolute monsters. My days as the world's greatest are over!"
Meanwhile, Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong were flying in the direction Fortuneteller Baba had divined.
The person who possessed the Dragon Ball hadn't appeared yet, but based on the original story, Zhang Wutian knew it was most likely Pilaf and his gang.
Leaving aside how active they would be in the future, how they would advance the story, and how one of them—old enough to be someone's grandmother—would end up dating the young master of the Bulma family, at least for now, they were nothing to Zhang Wutian.
"W-what do we do? She's here!" Since their castle had been destroyed by Son Wukong the last time Shenron appeared, Pilaf and his gang had been forced to live in a town. They stared in terror at the six Dragon Balls drawing closer and closer on the Dragon Radar.
"What do we do, Lord Pilaf? She even took down the Red Ribbon Army! We're no match for her!" said Pilaf's doglike henchman.
"Calm down. Didn't we come up with a plan to deal with her? We don't need to fight. Our plan will let us get the Dragon Balls with ease!"
"But Lord Pilaf, is our plan really going to work?" asked a certain woman who was in her twenties now, but who, decades later, would pursue a younger woman's son despite being old enough to be his grandmother.
"Don't worry. Our plan is sure to succeed. That little girl won't escape the grasp of the great Pilaf!" Pilaf laughed wickedly.
Before long, Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong landed in the town and arrived in front of the house where Pilaf and his gang were staying.
"Heh heh heh. I've been waiting for you, Son Wukong! You only brought one companion this time?"
"It's you guys!" Son Wukong clearly remembered what had happened the last time she'd collected the Dragon Balls. "So the last Dragon Ball is with you! Are you planning to do something bad again?"
"What's so bad about ruling the world? Everyone should be happy to have the great Pilaf rule over them! Now hand over the Dragon Ball you're holding!"
"I'm not giving you the Dragon Ball! You're the one who should hand yours over!" Son Wukong shouted.
"Heh heh heh. I knew you'd say that, which is why I set a trap for you here."
"A trap?"
"That's right!" Pilaf took a remote control out of his pocket and said smugly, "I planted a whole bunch of bombs beneath this town. The moment I press this button, they'll explode, and everyone will die! If you don't want the townspeople to die because of you, hand over the Dragon Ball!"
"Despicable!!" Son Wukong gritted her teeth and instinctively took up a fighting stance.
"Don't move! Stay right there!" Pilaf shrieked. "Throw me the Dragon Ball, or I'll set them off!"
"You!" Though she was furious, Son Wukong had no choice. She didn't dare move at all.
"Ha ha ha! That's why there's no need to fight. All you have to do to deal with self-righteous do-gooders like you is use your brain a little. The great Pilaf really is a genius! Ha ha ha!"
"This farce is too much to watch." Zhang Wutian scratched his head and stepped forward. "Uh, you're in this town too. If the bombs go off, do you think you'll be able to get out of the blast radius?"
"Ha ha... Huh?" Pilaf's laughter caught in his throat.
"What do we do, Lord Pilaf? We'll get blown up too!"
"I'm still young! I don't want to get blown up!"
"Th-this..." Cold sweat began to pour down Pilaf's face.
"Besides, I can also do this." As Zhang Wutian spoke, his figure seemed to flicker before becoming solid again.
Pilaf felt the remote control vanish from his hand. Somehow, it had ended up in Zhang Wutian's grasp.
"Get it now, Wukong? There's no need to go easy on people like this. If they threaten you, threaten their lives right back. We don't need to be afraid of hostages. The only thing we have to worry about is them staying hidden. Once they show themselves, we can take them out in an instant with our strength."
"That's too hard. Having you by my side is enough, Zhang Wutian. If there's a problem, you can solve it for me."
"You really don't hold back, even after getting played..." Zhang Wutian chuckled, then addressed the three fellows trying to sneak away. "How long do you think it'd take me to run over there, twist all your arms and legs into pretzels, and stuff them into your mouths?"
"Please spare us, sir!!!" The three of them immediately dropped to their knees and begged for mercy through their tears.
They might have still tried to struggle against someone as good-hearted as Son Wukong. After all, if they found the right moment to surrender, a good person wouldn't make trouble for them. But from the moment Zhang Wutian appeared, he'd kept up the air of a villain. Little crooks like them weren't afraid of good people; it was the big villains who were their natural enemies...
And so, the last Dragon Ball fell into the hands of Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong.
At last, all seven Dragon Balls had been gathered. With every obstacle out of the way, the final moment had finally arrived.
A black portal appeared before Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong. The gateway to another world opened to the two of them, hand in hand.
