Baby burst straight out of Vegeta's body.
Just as Baby turned into a streak of light and flew into the sky, Son Goku's voice rang out behind him.
10x Kamehameha!
A golden Kamehameha sent Baby straight into the sun.
"I'm not going down without a fight!"
As he entered the Sun Star, Baby let out a desperate cry. Then he gradually disappeared, perishing completely.
"Dad!"
Future Trunks descended from the sky and flew to Vegeta's side.
"Ah!"
After Baby left Vegeta's body, Vegeta slowly regained his senses. Feeling the wounds all over his body, he grimaced in pain and couldn't help crying out.
Trunks draped one of Vegeta's arms over his shoulder and slowly helped him up.
"Kakarot, I never thought Baby would be the one you killed. Otherwise, I, Vegeta, wouldn't have let him get away with it."
Vegeta looked at Son Goku and spoke with a faint smile.
Though Baby had possessed Vegeta, Vegeta still had some memories of what Baby had done with his body. So he knew Baby had been defeated by Son Goku.
Son Goku said nothing. He simply nodded with a smile, then turned around and looked at Lei Chen.
Lei Chen's Super Saiyan 4 form looked much like Son Goku's. His hair was stiff and red, reaching down to his ankles, with long side locks falling over his shoulders.
Red fur covered his body. He wore red pants and black casual trousers.
Son Goku's hair, on the other hand, was black, while his body fur was red.
"Could you be a Saiyan from the future?"
Son Goku suddenly asked Lei Chen. During the Android saga, Future Trunks had come here from the future. And Lei Chen knew his name and had known how to save Vegeta, so Son Goku wondered if Lei Chen had traveled here from the future too.
Lei Chen was taken aback. What he had done did seem a little like what Future Trunks had done, so it was only natural that Son Goku would suspect he was from the future.
When Vegeta heard Son Goku's question, he thought back to how, more than ten years ago, Future Trunks had used the Time Machine to travel to the past.
Vegeta also eyed Lei Chen with suspicion. It hadn't even occurred to him that Lei Chen might be a Saiyan from another world—or that he might simply be a Saiyan from this world.
Lei Chen shook his head and said, "Sorry, Kakarot, but you guessed wrong. I didn't come from the future. If I had to put it that way, I came here from ten years in the future."
"What do you mean? You're saying you came here from ten years in the future, but why haven't we met you before?"
Vegeta sounded unconvinced.
Son Goten and the others also looked at Lei Chen with puzzled expressions. They didn't understand what he meant. If Lei Chen had come from ten years in the future, shouldn't they already know him?
But there was no one named Lei Chen in this world.
"Let me put it this way. Say Future Trunks came here in a Time Machine seventeen or eighteen years ago. After he changed the past, do you think anything changed in the future of his world?"
Lei Chen asked Vegeta and the others.
"Ah, I get it. The future may be the future, but that doesn't mean it's the future of our world. It's like two parallel worlds. They may have the same starting point, but that doesn't mean they're the same world."
As the son of the scientific genius Bulma, Trunks understood some scientific theories, even if he wasn't as brilliant as his mother.
Trunks had heard Son Gohan and his mother say that Future Trunks had come to this time when he was still a baby.
