Father and Son, Together Again

Vegeta cursed under his breath. "Useless."

He hadn't noticed anything unusual about Cell.

Trunks looked toward Vegeta, as if waiting to see whether he would stop him.

Just then, Cell seemed to go berserk. He turned around and flew off at full speed.

Seeing this, Trunks assumed he was trying to escape. There was no way he'd let him get away.

He sped after him and blocked his path.

"Out of my way! Get lost!" Cell roared impatiently.

Trunks ignored him and launched into a flurry of punches.

"Thud, thud, thud!" Cell was pummeled in an instant, and several more wounds appeared on his body.

Trunks had no intention of letting him go. A glimmer appeared in his hand as he prepared to finish Cell off right there.

Cell was frantic. His Perfect Form was within reach; he couldn't die here.

He desperately shouted down toward the ground, "Vegeta, are you going to do anything about him or not? He's about to beat me to death!"

"Tch!" Vegeta grew more and more contemptuous of Cell. Even if this guy transforms into his Perfect Form, he probably won't amount to much.

But since he'd decided to fight Cell at his strongest, he wasn't about to let him die now.

Just as the Ki Blast in Trunks's hand was about to fire,

Vegeta suddenly appeared in front of him and kicked him.

The Ki Blast shot straight into the sky.

"Perfect!" Cell was overjoyed to see that Trunks had been stopped.

Then he put all the speed his body could muster into flying toward Android 18.

As Android 18 watched Cell approach, unease began to creep over her. She grabbed Li Lin's clothes. "What do we do? Cell's coming this way!"

Li Lin patted the back of her hand and smiled calmly. "It's fine. Leave it to me."

A moment later, Cell arrived in front of Android 18, a sinister smile on his face.

The scene before him seemed to transform into a vision of himself ruling the entire universe.

"My dear Android 18, I've finally found you!" Cell grinned so widely he could barely close his mouth. He spread his arms. "Come, let's complete our final fusion and conquer the world together!"

Seeing Cell's wicked expression, Android 18 instinctively backed away and hid behind Li Lin.

"Oh?" Cell looked at Li Lin, whom he'd never seen before, and asked casually, "Who are you? Just an ordinary human?"

Since Li Lin had no ki, Cell naturally took him for an ordinary human.

What puzzled him was why Android 18 was hiding behind an ordinary human.

And although Android 18 clearly seemed afraid of him, she wasn't trying to run away.

But now wasn't the time to think about that. As long as he could complete the fusion, the rest could go to hell!

While he was still thinking, Li Lin interrupted him and answered, "You don't need to know who I am. All you need to know is that you're already a dead man."

"Oh?" Cell raised an eyebrow slightly at those words.

He hadn't expected an ordinary human to dare speak so brazenly to him!

"Then I'll deal with you first!" Cell sneered cruelly. His tail rose high behind him and thrust toward Li Lin!

Meanwhile,

the air rang with the thunder of fists colliding.

Seeing Vegeta act this way, Trunks was furious. He swung his fists harder with each blow and shouted at him, "Why? Why are you stopping me?"

Vegeta fended off Trunks's attacks without hurry. "Why? Don't you want to see how powerful Cell is in his Perfect Form?"

The two of them were thinking along completely different lines.

Trunks wanted to eliminate the threat to Earth as quickly as possible and protect the lives of its people.

He couldn't understand why Vegeta was like this—why he would leave Earth in danger instead of dealing with the threat!

Vegeta was just as baffled. Trunks was a Saiyan, after all.

Why was he so timid and cautious, with no ambition at all?

He even wondered if this guy was really his son. Trunks hadn't inherited any of his personality.

"I don't want to see it! I don't want to see it at all! If you're really going to stop me, then I'll just have to take you down first!"

Trunks roared.

He'd had enough of the suffering in the future. Now he would use his own strength to destroy every enemy.

Hearing Trunks threaten to take him down, Vegeta's blood pressure shot up, and the veins on his forehead bulged. "You little brat! Then come and try!"

"Bam! Boom! Thud!"

The two fought hand to hand, traded blasts, and then slammed into each other again and again.

But just as they were putting on a touching father-and-son reunion,

"Bang!" A tremendous impact suddenly rang out.

A green figure came flying toward them with a series of sonic booms.

They both noticed it at once and hurriedly separated. The green figure shot between them!

The powerful gust sent their hair flying!

"Ah!!!" The green figure was Cell. He let out a piteous scream as he slammed into a distant mountain.

"Rumble!" The mountain collapsed.

After smashing through it, his face scraped along the ground for a full hundred meters, carving a deep trench before he finally came to a stop!

He looked utterly mangled. Nearly half his body had vanished.

His face was twisted, his nose crooked and his eyes askew. A large amount of purple blood seeped out beneath him.

"That's Cell." Trunks finally realized what had happened. Seeing Cell in such a state, he broke into a delighted smile.

Vegeta, however, looked grim. He shouted toward the direction the figure had come from. "Whoever you are, show yourself!"

Cell was his target. The only reason he hadn't killed him was that he wanted to fight him at his strongest.

But it seemed there was another powerful fighter hiding on this island—someone who had beaten Cell into this state.

He wasn't angry for Cell's sake. He was angry because someone had ruined his fun.

Hearing Vegeta's voice, Li Lin frowned slightly. He took Android 18 by the hand and slowly flew into the sky.

Android 18 was stunned. Her soft red lips parted slightly, but she couldn't say a word. She let Li Lin lead her by the hand.

What she'd just seen had completely surpassed anything she could have imagined.

Cell was so powerful, yet Li Lin had sent him flying with a single casual punch.

When she looked at Li Lin, admiration appeared in her eyes, along with a strange sense of pride.

"It's been a few days, but you're still just as annoying," Li Lin said calmly as he appeared before Vegeta.

Vegeta saw Li Lin and his pupils contracted. Most of the anger in his heart vanished in an instant.
