"Mm." Li Lin's lips curled slightly, and he nodded with delight. "As expected of a Super Saiyan 2. That's impressive!"

At the same time, he secretly praised the system.

He had only taken one look at Frieza's attack and given it a little thought.

Though the two of them were father and son, he knew how ambitious Frieza was.

Frieza was arrogant and unruly. If King Cold hadn't been stronger than him, Frieza would have replaced him long ago.

He certainly wouldn't have treated King Cold with the respect he had before!

"Oh? Is that so?"

Li Lin raised an eyebrow, sounding doubtful.

"Of course!"

King Cold spoke with confidence.

His battle power was a little higher than Frieza's.

It was only a little higher, but if Frieza was caught off guard, King Cold could achieve exactly the same result.

Vegeta, Piccolo, and the others were shocked when they heard King Cold.

They had thought that with Li Lin, their savior, they would be safe and Earth would be spared this crisis.

They hadn't expected King Cold, who was right there with them, to be so terrifyingly powerful.

And judging by his expression, he didn't seem to be bluffing!

Li Lin, however, wasn't convinced.

He had come to the Dragon Ball World from another world, and he knew the story of this world fairly well.

King Cold might really be a little stronger than Frieza.

But he was nowhere near Li Lin's level. In the original story, the guy had been taken down by Trunks in a single move!

Seeing Li Lin fall silent, King Cold began to look pleased with himself.

He also tried to entice him, speaking in a tempting tone. "Heh. There aren't many strong fighters as young as you."

"How about it? Interested in taking Frieza's place? I can make you my adopted son. Together, we'll conquer the universe!"

Li Lin stared at King Cold, momentarily stunned, then blinked.

He'd only been distracted for a moment. He hadn't expected this guy to want to make him his adopted son. What a ridiculous idea.

He knew the story, had a cheat-like system at his disposal, and was already a formidable fighter.

Why would he be stupid enough to become your adopted son?

"I'm really not interested in being your adopted son!" Li Lin curled his lip in disdain, then raised a finger. "Why don't you go to hell and join your real son instead?"

King Cold's expression darkened at Li Lin's taunt.

But before he could say another word, a flash of light glimmered at Li Lin's fingertip.

"Whoosh!"

A white energy beam shot out like a bullet and pierced straight through King Cold's chest!

The tremendous impact sent him stumbling back several steps. He could barely stay upright, then collapsed heavily onto the ground.

"Gah!"

King Cold clutched the hole in his chest and couldn't stop himself from spitting out a mouthful of blood.

At the same time, the life force within him began to drain away faster and faster!

"Hoh, you really are a little stronger than Frieza. You took a hit from me and still haven't died."

Li Lin raised an eyebrow, sounding slightly surprised.

But his surprise vanished almost immediately. A white ball of energy appeared in his hand.

It was the technique he had learned when Frieza attacked him a second time.

Aside from its different color, the energy it contained was astonishingly powerful!

Seeing Li Lin prepare to attack again, King Cold was instantly terrified. He repeatedly raised his hand to plead. "No, no! Don't kill me. I'll leave Earth right away. I promise I'll never come back to this star system. I—"

"No!" King Cold cried out in despair.

All he could do was watch helplessly as he was swallowed by the white light!

The explosion roared through the sky. A wisp of smoke slowly rose as the entire mountain range began to shake violently.

Huge rocks tumbled down from the mountaintop!

After a long while, the force of the explosion began to die down, and the scene gradually grew quiet.

The smoke slowly cleared. All that remained of King Cold's enormous body was a small pile of blackened remains!
