Battle of Lava Planet (Part 1)

"What? You want me to lead the Fourth Legion to Lava Planet to repel Slug and his forces? Are you out of your mind? Slug has a combat power of at least several million, if not tens of millions, and I only have fifty thousand! Is the Chief of Staff trying to send us to our deaths by ordering me to lead the Fourth Legion to Lava Planet?"

Leige pretended to be angry after hearing the soldier's words.

Having said that, Leige ignored the soldier and headed straight to find Sorbet.

Five minutes later, at the Chief of Staff's office.

"Lord Sorbet, Prince Leige is here."

A soldier announced to Sorbet from outside the office.

"Invite him in quickly—no, I shall go greet him myself."

Sorbet said.

"No need, I'm already in."

Leige pushed the door open and walked into the office.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, Prince Leige?"

Sorbet looked at Leige and asked.

"Chief of Staff, is it true that you want me to lead the Fourth Legion to support Lava Planet and repel Slug's invasion?"

Leige asked Sorbet.

"Prince Leige, the only ones in our army with combat power as high as yours are you and the Ginyu Force. Since the Ginyu Force must garrison the second and third planets, I have no choice but to have you lead the Fourth Legion to support Lava Planet," Sorbet replied.

"Chief of Staff, I believe you've heard of Slug. He has a combat power of several million, while mine is only fifty thousand. Even if I transform into a Great Ape, my power only reaches five hundred thousand. Are you trying to get me killed by making me fight Slug?"

Leige feigned anger.

"Prince Leige, you are a Saiyan. Do Saiyans even know the meaning of fear?"

Sorbet looked at Leige and asked.

"Saiyans do not fear any enemy, but that doesn't mean we are stupid. You are asking me to fight an unwinnable battle—do you take me for a fool?"

Leige retorted.

"Prince Leige, the King is currently in seclusion. If we don't support Lava Planet and the King emerges to find it occupied by Slug, neither you, I, nor General Lyle will escape punishment," Sorbet said.

He didn't want to force Leige to go, but there was no one else left who could provide support.

"I have an idea, Chief of Staff. Would you like to hear it?"

Leige said.

"Please, Prince Leige, speak."

Sorbet replied.

"Chief of Staff, we can use the energy cannon on the Frieza Ship to turn both Lava Planet and Slug's forces into cosmic dust."

Leige suggested.

"But even if we use the Frieza Ship's energy cannon to vaporize them, the planet will be gone, and we still won't be able to answer to the King. Furthermore, if Slug's scouts detect us, the Frieza Ship itself could be destroyed," Sorbet countered.

"Chief of Staff, do you think the King would care about a single planet if it meant eliminating a powerful enemy? Besides, I will order my soldiers to wipe out Slug's scouts."

Leige said.

Leige understood Frieza all too well; if given the choice, Frieza would certainly choose to turn both the planet and Slug into cosmic dust.

"This... very well, Prince Leige. I will order the captain of the Frieza Ship to head to Lava Planet immediately and reduce it and Slug's forces to dust. But you must promise me that you will protect the Frieza Ship at all costs."

Sorbet agreed.

"You have my word. With me here, the Frieza Ship will be safe. Additionally, I would like you to send a transmission to the Ginyu Force and have Guldo join me in supporting Lava Planet."

Leige said.

Leige felt that if he could take the opportunity to win Guldo over, it would be even better. Although Guldo's combat power was inferior to Jeice, Burter, or Recoome, he possessed the "Time Freeze" ability—a broken skill that, if used correctly, might even allow him to kill Frieza easily.

"Why would you want Guldo to accompany you, Prince Leige? His combat power isn't very high; it's not even as strong as Lord Dodoria's," Sorbet noted.

"Guldo possesses a time-stopping technique. If we are discovered by Slug's forces, we can use his ability to escape," Leige explained.

Leige then went to find Gele to assemble the Fourth Legion, while Sorbet hurriedly ordered the communications officer to signal the Ginyu Force, commanding them to send Guldo to the third planet.

March 18th, 12:00 PM.

"My apologies, Prince Leige, for my late arrival. I have kept you waiting."

A pale green, stout man, just over a meter tall with four eyes, said.

Guldo had been partying with Jeice and the others on the second planet when Sorbet's transmission arrived. He had taken the fastest transport available, arriving at the third planet in just one day.

"Guldo, if we manage to wipe out Slug and his forces this time, the Chief of Staff will reward me with a hundred taels of gold on behalf of His Majesty, and I'll give you ten. Of course, even if we fail to eliminate them, I'll still grant you three thousand space credits as a bonus for joining the Fourth Legion on this campaign."

Leige looked at Guldo as he spoke.

"Just watch me, Prince Leige. I guarantee I'll slaughter every one of Slug's soldiers."

Guldo replied.

Guldo didn't mention killing Slug himself, only his soldiers, as he was well aware of Slug's combat power.

Leige boarded the Frieza Ship and led the Fourth Legion toward Lava Planet.

"Captain Jero, how long until we reach Lava Planet?"

Leige asked a man with blue skin dressed in a captain's uniform.

"Prince Leige, although the Frieza Ship is very fast, it will still take us ten days to reach Lava Planet."

Jero said.

"Ten days is too long. Even if we have to exhaust all our energy stones, we must arrive at Lava Planet in five days."

Leige commanded.

If they waited ten days, Lava Planet would likely already be occupied by Slug and his forces by the time they arrived.

"Understood."

Jero replied.

Leige had ordered them to arrive in five days, and he couldn't exactly refuse. Besides, their mission was to provide reinforcements; if it truly took ten days, Lava Planet would surely be lost. Therefore, even if it meant burning through all their energy stones, they had to make it in five.

"I'm going to my room to rest. Don't disturb me unless it's important."

Leige said.

With that, Leige headed to his quarters.

Two minutes later, inside Leige's room.

"I have five days. I'll spend three days training in the Combat Space and use the final two to properly relax."

Leige said.

After speaking, he entered the System Space.

"Let's see which character I can draw as a sparring partner this time."

Leige said.

He began to spin the arrow, which eventually came to a stop on the portrait of Super Perfect Cell.

"My luck is damn good! First I drew Perfect Cell, and now Super Perfect Cell. It couldn't get any better than this!"

Leige exclaimed.

Of course, anyone who knew Leige understood exactly what he meant by that.

"Leige, I've come for revenge. Prepare to die!"

Super Perfect Cell declared.

Super Perfect Cell threw a punch at Leige.

"Boom!"

Leige hurriedly transformed into Legendary Super Saiyan 1 Full Power to dodge the blow. Super Perfect Cell's fist smashed a crater ten meters in diameter and over ten meters deep into the ground.

"It seems Super Perfect Cell has retained the memories of Perfect Cell. Xiao Bai, can I switch sparring partners? I'm afraid Super Perfect Cell is going to kill me."

Leige said to Xiao Bai.

"Boom!"

Before Xiao Bai could answer, Super Perfect Cell fired an energy blast at Leige, who narrowly dodged it.

Super Perfect Cell teleported to Leige's side and sent him flying hundreds of meters away with a single punch.

"Boom!"

Super Perfect Cell immediately pursued him, slamming Leige into the ground with another punch that left a crater over ten meters deep.

"I'll fight you to the death!"

Leige roared.

Enduring the excruciating pain of his shattered left arm and right leg bones, he charged at Super Perfect Cell.

"Great Ape Fist!"

Leige shouted.

He unleashed the Great Ape Fist and struck at Super Perfect Cell.

"Boom!"

Super Perfect Cell activated his energy shield, and Leige's Great Ape Fist slammed into it.

"Ka-me-ha-me-ha!"

Super Perfect Cell shouted.

After shouting, Super Perfect Cell unleashed his full energy, firing a Kamehameha toward Leige.

"Flame-Impact-Wave!"

Leige shouted.

Once he finished shouting, Leige also poured all his energy into firing a Flame Impact Wave at Super Perfect Cell.

"Boom!"

The two massive energy waves collided. Because Super Perfect Cell's combat power exceeded that of the Legendary Super Saiyan 1 Full Power, Leige's Flame Impact Wave was pushed back.

"Ah!"

Leige himself was swallowed by the Kamehameha, but he was not blasted into smithereens. Leige realized this must have been Xiao Bai's doing again. Although he hadn't been vaporized, Leige's energy and stamina were completely exhausted, and he reverted from Legendary Super Saiyan 1 Full Power back to his base state.

"Stop, Super Perfect Cell. Wait until I've healed the host's injuries before you beat him up again."
