The Father-Son Agreement

Twenty days later, January 10, Age 734, Planet Vegeta, Communications Station

"Attention, everyone. The eldest prince and Lord Zarbon will arrive on Planet Vegeta in twenty minutes. Prepare to welcome them."

Nappa addressed the Saiyans inside the communications station.

"Yes, sir."

The Saiyans at the communications station replied.

Twenty minutes later, at the communications station.

As the spaceship landed, Leige and Zarbon stepped out.

"Welcome, Your Highness. Welcome, Lord Zarbon."

Nappa bowed, leading the others.

"Are you Nappa?"

Leige asked tentatively.

At the time, Nappa still had hair and looked to be in his early twenties.

"Yes, Your Highness. I am Nappa, your subordinate."

Nappa replied.

"Beep, beep. Battle power: 2,700. Not bad, not bad."

Leige said after using his Scouter to check Nappa's current battle power.

"You're too kind, Your Highness. The king is waiting for you at the palace. Would you like to see him first, or get some rest?"

Nappa asked.

"I'll see Father first. Mr. Zarbon, would you like to come with me, or go look around on your own?"

Leige asked.

"I'll look around on my own first."

Zarbon replied.

Then Leige and Nappa headed to the palace, while Zarbon went shopping at the mall.

Two minutes later, in the palace's main hall.

"I greet you, Father and Mother."

Leige knelt on one knee in greeting.

"Get up, quickly. Leige, have you been all right with Frieza?"

Rossi hurried over to help Leige up and asked.

"I'm fine, Mother. Frieza has treated me well enough."

Leige replied.

"Leige, take off your headband. Let me see how high your battle power is now."

King Vegeta said.

"Your Majesty, Leige has only just returned. Let him rest for a day before you check his battle power."

Rossi said.

"Leige, are you tired?"

King Vegeta asked.

"I'm not tired, Father. But Frieza sent Zarbon back with me. If I take off the headband now, Zarbon will realize I've been using it to suppress my true battle power."

Leige replied.

"Since Zarbon came back with you, just tell me what your battle power is now."

King Vegeta said.

"Father, my battle power is 22,000."

Leige replied.

Leige didn't reveal his full battle power. He was afraid that if he did, King Vegeta might start worrying that he had designs on the throne.

"22,000? Excellent! Very good! Hahaha! I can put my plan into action sooner than expected."

King Vegeta laughed.

"What plan is that?"

Leige asked, though he already knew.

"Leige, I've decided to lead the Saiyans in defeating Frieza. I'd planned to wait until you and Vegeta were a little older, then the three of us could join forces and surely defeat him. But now it seems that you and I can do it together. We'll take Frieza's place and rule the North Galaxy."

King Vegeta said.

"Father, Frieza's battle power is far too great. Even if we joined forces, we wouldn't be a match for him."

Leige said.

"It won't just be us. We'll have ten Elite Warriors, each with a battle power of 7,000, as well as twenty mid-level warriors with battle powers of 4,000. With so many Elite Warriors and mid-level warriors, I refuse to believe we can't defeat Frieza!"

King Vegeta said.

"Father, I've already learned the full extent of Frieza's battle power from the Frieza Force. It's 120 million. 120 million!"

Leige said.

"What? 120 million? How is that possible? Frieza's battle power is that incredibly high?"

King Vegeta asked.

"Father, if we fight Frieza now, we have no chance of winning. But give me a few more years, and I'll surpass him."

Leige said.

"His battle power is 120 million! No matter how strong you become, at most you'll reach 100,000 or 200,000. Can we Saiyans really defeat Frieza?"

King Vegeta said dejectedly.

"Father, hasn't our Saiyan race always passed down the legend of the Super Saiyan? I know you may not believe me, but the legend is true. I'm the Legendary Super Saiyan."

Leige said.

"That's right, the legend is true. You are the Legendary Super Saiyan, Leige. Did you know that your battle power was the highest in Saiyan history from the moment you were born? Father believes that you are indeed the Legendary Super Saiyan! One day, you'll defeat Frieza and become the strongest king in the North Galaxy—no, in the entire universe!"

King Vegeta said.

"So, Father, we must endure for now. Within five years at the latest, I'll defeat Frieza and become the strongest king in the universe!"

Leige said.

"Good. Leige, Father believes in you. I'll keep enduring, and I'll look forward to the day you ascend the throne as emperor of the universe."

King Vegeta said.

King Vegeta had accepted reality. With Frieza's battle power at 120 million, he would never be able to defeat him in his lifetime. His only hope now was that Leige would one day defeat Frieza, become the ruler of the universe, and lead the Saiyan race to greatness.
