Background / History

Following Senju Tobirama’s death, Hiruzen succeeded him as Hokage amid resistance from the Senju and Konoha’s other clans. He stabilized his contested rule by leading Konoha to victory in a war against Kumogakure, then spent decades consolidating authority around the Hokage’s office. 25 162

After learning that Chiba effortlessly defeated Asuma, Hiruzen investigates the blind Uchiha’s abnormal growth and considers whether he possesses the Sharingan. He orders Asuma not to provoke Chiba again while considering how Chiba might be shaped into a useful Konoha asset. 6
