In the original story, the Tailed Beast captured by the Akatsuki were not actually Tailed Beast, but rather Jinchūriki. Although Jinchūriki are powerful, their power comes from the human, who gains strength by borrowing the power of the Tailed Beast, but in doing so, they actually limit the power of the Tailed Beast!
It can be said that without something to counter the Tailed Beast, no one can defeat Tailed Beast! In the original story, the Akatsuki mainly captured Jinchūriki; as for the true Tailed Beast, there was only one: the Three-Tails!
But at that time, Deidara was accompanied by Tobi, Tobi was Uchiha Obito. If Deidara couldn't capture the Three-Tails, that would be strange!
