Having seen this seal more than once in the original work, I naturally knew what I was dealing with.

Kangetsu pressed his hand onto the black scroll, and instantly, a substance resembling black ink began to recede. Only then did he realize that the scroll itself was actually blue.

He cracked the scroll open, and his pupils dilated in an instant. Storm Release, a combination of lightning and water chakra! And this lump of black matter... Heh, no wonder.

Kangetsu studied the scroll. It detailed the method for acquiring Storm Release chakra and various techniques for utilizing it. The text repeatedly referenced the black, gemstone-like object he was currently holding. Before this, he had no idea what the item was.

However, upon reading that it was a crystallization of Yin-style chakra, Kangetsu finally understood its nature.

In this Warring States period, almost no one knew how to use the so-called Yin-Yang Release, and those who did only possessed a mere fraction of it. The only ones who truly possessed or had the potential to wield these two powers were the four great clans: the Uzumaki, Hyuga, Uchiha, and Senju.

Even then, that was merely a possibility. The only ones who truly possessed them now were likely Senju Hashirama, the reincarnation of Asura, and Uchiha Madara, the reincarnation of Indra. One mastered Yang Release, the other Yin Release; there was no third. Yet, looking at the object in his hand, Kangetsu realized what it was. It likely belonged to the third wielder of Yin-Yang Release: Black Zetsu.

Black Zetsu was the third son of Otsutsuki Kaguya and the mastermind who had spent a millennium orchestrating her resurrection. His entire body was pitch black, likely composed of Yin Release. With that in mind, Kangetsu knew exactly where the Yin-style chakra crystal in his hand had come from.

Though he didn't know what Black Zetsu was currently planning, these were not matters Kangetsu could interfere with. His power was still too insignificant, and for a figure like Black Zetsu, it was best to play ignorant for now.

Still, he decided to keep the scroll and treasure it carefully. As these thoughts crossed his mind, Kangetsu connected them to scenes from the original story. It was likely this very scroll that allowed Uchiha Madara to use Storm Release. After all, the Hagoromo Clan would eventually be wiped out by the Uchiha and Senju, so it wouldn't be strange for Uchiha Madara to have obtained it back then.

This was probably also why Uchiha Madara, even in his Six Paths mode, could be so easily controlled by Black Zetsu—it must have been due to this very fragment of black chakra crystal.

Furthermore, the Third Raikage's black lightning and Darui's black lightning were likely derived from this same crystal. After all, Yin-style chakra crystals could be inherited.

With that thought, Kangetsu smiled faintly and used the Five Elements Release to reseal the black crystal and the Storm Release scroll.

He tucked the scroll away, looked up, and gazed slowly at the chilly sunlight.
