Slaughter

His expression betrayed not a trace of emotion, and his utterly sinister Sharingan fixed on Kangetsu. His lips parted slightly. "You're very good, Kangetsu, but you still need to control your killing intent. Once you've killed someone, you're bound to carry a trace of it, but you must learn to control it. Even the slightest trace of killing intent could cost you your life! And where is your sword? Don't you know that being without a weapon on the battlefield means death, especially for a child like you who's only three?"

As Uchiha Tajima finished speaking, a kunai appeared in his hand. He hurled it at Kangetsu and barked, "Without a weapon, you're nothing but a lamb waiting to be slaughtered!"

Kangetsu's icy eyes tracked the kunai's trajectory. It was aimed to skim past his cheek! At most, it would leave a cut on his face.

But at that moment, Kangetsu moved. His right hand snatched the sword from Meigetsu's hand, and he swung it just as the kunai reached him.

The sword swept upward in a beautiful arc and struck the kunai. The tremendous force cleaved it in two!

Uchiha Tajima froze. The brothers Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Izuna froze as well!

Kangetsu stared at Uchiha Tajima with icy eyes. He raised the sword, pointed it straight at him, and demanded, "Why? Tell me why!"

At Kangetsu's icy demand, Uchiha Tajima's eyes widened slightly as he stared at him, breaking out of his stunned daze. His expression turned utterly cold, and his words were equally chilling. "What do you want to know?"

Kangetsu kept his sword pointed at Uchiha Tajima! His words were indifferent, devoid of all emotion. "Why would you do this? Madara and Izuna are one thing, but Meigetsu is only three. You're making him face this at three years old!"

Kangetsu had always felt a special affection for his younger brother, Meigetsu. He did not know whether it was because of the Uchiha Clan's bloodline. Known as the clan of love, the Uchiha placed great importance on their emotions. Although Kangetsu had been reborn with memories of his previous life, he had still, despite himself, embraced the bonds of this life!

Kangetsu deeply valued the bonds between brothers, as well as those between parents and children. But he felt an extra measure of protectiveness toward Uchiha Meigetsu, who had been born alongside him to the same mother! He did not want him to suffer even the slightest harm! So when Meigetsu had shown fear just moments earlier, Kangetsu had become furious. That was why he had pointed his sword straight at Uchiha Tajima, his biological father in this life!

Uchiha Tajima looked at Uchiha Meigetsu, whom Kangetsu was shielding, and sighed softly. "Meigetsu is three, but what about you? What about you, Uchiha Kangetsu?"

"Three! I'm three too! But I'm different. I'm not like Meigetsu. Slaughter like this doesn't frighten me!"

His words remained icy, but they carried a hint of arrogance!
