Slaughter

With an expression devoid of emotion and those wickedly intense Sharingan eyes fixed on Kangetsu, Uchiha Tajima parted his lips slightly to speak: "You are quite impressive, Kangetsu, but you have yet to master your killing intent. While killing inevitably leaves a trace of bloodlust upon you, you must learn to control it; even a mere sliver of such intent can cost you your life! And where is your sword? Do you not know that on the battlefield, being without a weapon means death, especially for a three-year-old child like you?"

Having said this, a kunai appeared in Uchiha Tajima's hand, which he then hurled toward Kangetsu, shouting: "Without a weapon, you are nothing but a lamb waiting for the slaughter!"

Kangetsu's icy eyes tracked the trajectory of the kunai. It was aimed to graze his cheek—at most, it would have left a shallow scratch.

But in that instant, Kangetsu moved. He snatched the sword from Meigetsu's hand and, at the very moment the kunai arrived, swung it upward.

Tracing a beautiful arc from bottom to top, the blade struck the kunai with such immense force that it cleaved the weapon in two!

Uchiha Tajima was stunned, and the brothers Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Izuna were left equally dumbfounded.

Kangetsu's cold eyes remained locked on Uchiha Tajima. He raised the sword, pointing it directly at his father, and demanded: "Why? Tell me the reason!"

After Kangetsu's icy words, the stunned Uchiha Tajima widened his eyes slightly as he looked at his son. His own expression turned frigid as he replied: "What is it you wish to know?"

Kangetsu kept the sword leveled at Uchiha Tajima. His lips curled into a detached, emotionless sneer: "Why do this? Madara and Izuna are one thing, but Meigetsu is only three. How could you force him to face this at such an age?"

For Kangetsu, he had always harbored a unique affection for his younger brother, Meigetsu. Perhaps it was the bloodline of the Uchiha—the so-called Clan of Love—that made them value bonds so deeply. Although Kangetsu had been reborn with the memories of his past life, he had involuntarily come to embrace the emotions of this one.

Kangetsu held the bond of brotherhood in high regard, just as he did the bond with his parents. Yet, for Meigetsu, born of the same mother, he felt an even greater sense of protectiveness. He did not want him to suffer the slightest harm. That was why, the moment Meigetsu had shown fear, Kangetsu's rage had ignited, driving him to point his sword at Uchiha Tajima, his own biological father in this life.

Uchiha Tajima looked at Meigetsu, whom Kangetsu was shielding behind him, and let out a soft sigh: "Meigetsu is three, but what about you? What about you, Uchiha Kangetsu?"

"Three! I am also three! But I am different. I am not like Meigetsu; I do not find such slaughter terrifying!"

The words remained icy, yet they were laced with a hint of arrogance.
