"The selection process for the Root heir is just too brutal," Ruohuo sighed.
"Is that so?" Orochimaru replied calmly.
"It is, Sensei. White-Haired Uncle actually cut off Elder Danzo's left arm just to pass the test!"
"I see..." Orochimaru remained unfazed.
Ruohuo blinked and said regretfully, "It's a shame I didn't have time to bandage Elder Danzo's wound. I wonder if he's bled dry by now..."
"..."
Orochimaru fell silent for two seconds. "It shouldn't come to that. Elder Danzo has some experience with arm injuries. He always manages to recover."
"..."
Ruohuo sensed that something was off. Orochimaru... had changed!
Wasn't he supposed to be devoted to protecting his teacher's darling?
Fugaku had fired a Cloud-Piercing Arrow, and the entire Uchiha Clan had come running. The Uchiha had surrounded Danzo so thoroughly that the scene looked like they were wrapping dumplings. So why wasn't Orochimaru the least bit worried?
Well...
If you're not worried, then neither am I.
Ruohuo simply sat down and began to assess how this incident might unfold.
Fugaku had finally grown a spine. After seeing Danzo's Sharingan and getting no answers from him, he'd actually called in the entire clan without a moment's hesitation!
Ruohuo had been a little surprised when that signal flare went up.
The advantage of this move was that it could put pressure on Konoha.
But the downside was obvious, too. Fugaku was now in a bit of a bind.
Danzo refused to cooperate and wouldn't explain where he'd gotten the Three Tomoe. He couldn't even be bothered to make up a lie. He was clearly determined to fight the Uchiha to the bitter end.
The Uchiha had only two choices.
Either they backed down and yielded to Konoha,
or they fought to the bitter end, doing whatever it took to
