Bardock I

"My premonition was right after all. Frieza really did exactly what I expected."

Looking at the enormous red energy sphere in the sky, Kast stood on the surface of Planet Vegeta, wearing an expression that said he wasn't surprised.

That's right, Kast had already reached Planet Vegeta. As for the Ginyu Force's spaceship that Frieza had detected, it still wouldn't arrive for about three minutes.

To explain how this had happened, we had to go back ten minutes.

Ten minutes earlier, after sensing Frieza's ki, Kast had made his preparations.

But Kast had kept something in reserve. He could sense that if he flew straight to Planet Vegeta in Ginyu's spaceship, Frieza might destroy the planet the instant he arrived.

There was no other reason. Frieza simply wanted to take revenge on Kast and provoke him.

But Kast had already had a premonition, so when he was ten minutes away from Frieza, he took his own spaceship and reached Planet Vegeta ahead of schedule.

That way, Kast could maintain a time gap and keep Frieza from destroying Planet Vegeta before he arrived.

As it turned out, Kast had been right. His premonition had indeed come true.

Just as he'd expected, Frieza had planned to destroy Planet Vegeta right before Ginyu's spaceship arrived.

Looking at the enormous red energy sphere in the sky, Kast smiled faintly. The next moment, he began gathering power, and a white wave of ki appeared in his palm.

"Hm?"

But before Kast could fire the energy sphere, a figure suddenly shot into the sky.

"That's... Bardock!"

Looking at the tall man with the familiar hairstyle in the sky, Kast smiled in recognition.

"I never thought that, even with a different timeline and different circumstances, Bardock would still be the first warrior to reach Frieza, just like in the original story!"

"But this is too much for him as he is now."

Watching Bardock desperately resist Frieza's energy sphere, Kast sighed.

"Let me give you a hand."

As he spoke, Kast slowly dissipated the ki in his right hand, which he had been preparing to fire, and gathered a tremendous amount of energy instead.

"Go!"

In an instant, he sent the energy surging from his hand toward Bardock.

A few minutes earlier.

After Bardock and Gine returned to their room, they put down their luggage and started talking. But before they could say more than a couple of words, Bardock suddenly sensed the presence of death.

His premonition was powerful. He bolted out of the room.

"What's wrong, Bardock?"

Gine hurried after him and asked.

But before Bardock could answer, an enormous red energy sphere began to appear in the sky.

"What is that?!"

At the sight of the enormous energy sphere, Gine's face went deathly pale. Terror showed in her expression.

"Damn it! You bastard, Frieza! So this is what you were planning! I'll never let you destroy Planet Vegeta and do whatever you want!" Seeing Gine's panicked expression, then looking up at the enormous red energy sphere, Bardock clenched his teeth and roared in fury.

Consumed by rage, Bardock shot into the sky. He clenched his right hand, and a white wave of ki appeared in his palm.

"I won't let you get away with this, Frieza! I'll take you down! This attack will put an end to everything!"

With that, Bardock fired the ki blast in his hand.

"What?!"

But what happened next stunned Bardock. His blast struck Frieza's energy sphere and vanished into it like a stone sinking into the sea, without even causing a ripple.

"Damn it!! Hah!!"

With an angry roar, Bardock thrust out his left hand and fired another blast. Together with the first, it shot toward the energy sphere above.

But the difference in strength was simply too great. Even though Bardock used every ounce of his strength, Frieza's energy sphere continued to descend steadily.

"Is this the end?!"

Looking at the energy sphere about to strike him, Bardock gave a wry smile. But his gaze remained unwavering, and his body hovered firm as a mountain before the sphere.

Just as the energy sphere was about to hit Bardock, a tremendous surge of energy suddenly shot up from below and poured into his body.

"What is this?!"

In an instant, Bardock felt an immense power well up inside him. There was no time to think. At this critical moment, he drew on the power and fired another ki blast. This time, it held Frieza's energy sphere firmly in place.

"Good!!"

Seeing the energy sphere stopped, Bardock finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then his gaze hardened, and he used the momentum to swell the energy within him even further.

"Go back!"

He raised both hands. With the help of the immense power, the energy sphere began to inch back upward.

"Ha!"

With a roar, he finally sent the energy sphere flying back.
