Making a Move, Part Two

"Hello. You're Bardock, right?"

"Yes."

Bardock answered instinctively, then came back to his senses.

"You're a Saiyan?"

Looking at the newcomer, Bardock hesitated.

The boy standing before him looked about eight years old. He had black hair, a handsome face, and bangs parted over his forehead. Most importantly, a tail was wrapped around his waist.

All these signs showed that he was a Saiyan.

However, although Bardock could sense that he was a Saiyan, he found it hard to believe that a boy of about eight could be so powerful.

When he had just faced off against Frieza, Bardock hadn't blinked once, yet he hadn't sensed the boy's arrival at all.

Even Frieza had been taken completely by surprise. It was hard to imagine.

Seeing Bardock's uncertain expression, the boy smiled faintly.

"What's wrong? What are you worried about? Have you forgotten that I helped you when you were struggling against Frieza's energy ball?"

"It was you!"

At those words, Bardock's eyes widened in surprise.

"Of course it was."

As he spoke, the boy slowly walked past Frieza and headed over to Bardock.

Frieza watched the boy walk right past him, completely unfazed and even ignoring him. His expression darkened, and a tremendous force surged from within him.

"You! That's enough!"

With that, Frieza shot forward and swung a punch at the boy's head.

But, just as his fist was about to strike, the boy seemed to turn transparent and vanished from where he stood.

"What?!"

Before Frieza could react, a tremendous force struck the back of his head.

"Thwack!"

The sound of a fist hitting a skull rang out, and Frieza was sent flying without putting up any resistance. He crashed into a nearby mound of earth.

"How is that possible?!"

The Saiyans gathered nearby stared at the scene in stunned silence.

"So it really was him!?"

Looking at what had happened, Bardock couldn't help thinking of the tremendous energy that had seeped into his body earlier. It seemed that only this boy could have been responsible.

"Are you all right, Bardock?"

Gine had also come to Bardock's side.

"I'm fine. By the way, did the Frieza Army attack you?"

Bardock suddenly thought of something and hurriedly asked.

"No, we didn't see anyone from the Frieza Army."

Gine shook her head as she replied.

"How could that be? Could it be...!"

Before Bardock could figure it out, the boy had already strolled over to him.

Looking up at the tall man before him, the boy smiled softly.

"My name is Kast. I admire you, Bardock. As a Saiyan, a proud warrior race, you're a worthy Warrior. But we'll have to save the small talk for later. First, I need to drive Frieza off this planet."

That's right, the newcomer was Kast. He had hidden himself as soon as Frieza arrived on Planet Vegeta, intending to eliminate the members of the Ginyu Force who served as Frieza's aides. That way, no one else would be able to interfere when he fought Frieza.

As for the Frieza Army, Kast had taken them all out one by one with wide-range, tracking energy blasts.

That was why Gine and the others hadn't been pursued by the Frieza Army.

When he reached the spot where Frieza had been knocked away, Kast said calmly,

"Come out, Frieza. I know an attack like that wouldn't do you any harm."

As he spoke, Kast tossed a white energy blast into the mound.

"Boom!"

A loud explosion rang out. In the instant it went off, Kast saw a figure burst out of the dust.

"There you are, Frieza."

Seeing Frieza covered in dust, Kast smiled.

"You!"

Frieza's forehead veins bulged as he gritted his teeth and spat out,

"You dare—you dare get Lord Frieza's body dirty!"

Then Frieza roared,

"I'll never, ever forgive you! You damned little monkey! You call yourself a Super Saiyan?!"

After that, Frieza's speed surged, and he vanished in a blur.

Bardock, standing nearby, was stunned. He had heard a word that seemed impossible!
