"Mom, Dad, you didn't know, did you? Vegeta is an alien!" Bulma hurriedly explained.
"An alien? Really?" Dr. Brief adjusted his glasses.
"Oh my, little one, are you really an alien?" Panchy peered at Vegeta with curiosity. "You don't look like a visitor from another planet at all."
"That is correct. I come from Planet Vegeta. I am the prince of that planet, and my name is derived from the planet itself," Vegeta replied truthfully.
"A tail? Vegeta, is this tail of yours real?" Bulma stepped forward and grabbed Vegeta's tail.
Vegeta: "..."
Are you even listening to me?
And you are truly ill-mannered.
Touching my tail like that.
"In your warehouse, there is a glowing golden sphere with stars inside. Do you have any recollection of it?" Vegeta asked.
"Oh, you mean that thing... I remember it," Dr. Brief nodded. "I picked it up while I was out traveling a while back. Are you looking for that?"
"Give it to me," Vegeta said.
"No problem," Dr. Brief readily agreed.
You already gave us a huge chest of jewels.
What's the big deal about giving you a ball?
"Robot, go fetch that sphere," Dr. Brief commanded a robot.
"Yes, Doctor!" The robot saluted and marched forward.
"Thud!"
Then, the robot suddenly face-planted onto the ground.
Vegeta: "..."
"Ahem... I suppose its walking capabilities still need some improvement," Dr. Brief sighed.
Lookout.
Kami and Mr. Popo were watching every move Vegeta made down below.
Both of them were terrified that Vegeta might cause chaos on Earth.
If you start causing trouble on Earth, we won't be able to handle you.
"Kami-sama, look..." Mr. Popo said.
Kami: "..."
Kami had never expected that Vegeta would get along so well with Bulma's family.
And that treasure chest of yours—was it prepared specifically for them?
What exactly are you trying to do?
"I don't know what he's planning either; let's observe for now," Kami said. "At the very least, it is a relief that he hasn't shown any evil intentions so far."
Capsule Corp headquarters.
The robot quickly retrieved the Dragon Ball and handed it to Vegeta with both hands.
"Thanks, I'll be going now," Vegeta said, taking the Dragon Ball and thanking Bulma's family.
"Snap!"
Vegeta soared into the air.
"Whoosh!"
The next moment, Vegeta vanished from the spot.
Dr. Brief's eyes widened.
"Oh my, oh my... can all aliens fly?" Panchy was stunned.
"He really is an alien," Dr. Brief adjusted his glasses.
"I told you he was an alien, but you two wouldn't believe me," Bulma said, looking rather smug.
Vegeta flew back to the Lookout at high speed with the Dragon Ball.
Now, all seven Dragon Balls had been gathered and were lying on the ground of the Lookout.
"Shenron, appear and grant my wish!" Vegeta shouted.
Kami: "..."
This kid even knows the incantation to summon Shenron.
"Click... click..."
The seven Dragon Balls shimmered with a golden radiance.
"Whoosh!"
A bolt of golden lightning shot straight into the sky.
The heavens turned pitch black in an instant.
In a fleeting moment, the golden pillar of light transformed into a massive green dragon.
The Shenron coiled through the night sky, looking down upon Vegeta, the Guardian of Earth, and the others from on high.
"Those who have gathered the Dragon Balls, state your wish. I shall grant any one wish within my power," the voice of Shenron boomed, then paused. "Uh... Lord Guardian of Earth..."
The Guardian of Earth remained silent.
"Shenron, make me immortal," Vegeta commanded, addressing the dragon.
After much deliberation, Vegeta had finally decided on the wish for immortality.
However, Vegeta was well aware that Earth's Shenron would likely be unable to fulfill such a request.
Even if it couldn't be done, there ought to be a compromise.
Shenron: "..."
"Immortality implies an infinite lifespan and a body that can never be destroyed; even if it were to be destroyed, it would recover instantly," Shenron replied.
"Correct, that is exactly what I mean," Vegeta nodded.
"I apologize... my powers are limited; I cannot fulfill this wish for you," Shenron shook his head.
"I figured as much..." Vegeta chuckled. "No matter, do whatever you can to the best of your ability."
"At most, I can extend your lifespan by 1,000 years... as for your body... the best I can do is grant you the ability of limb regeneration," Shenron mused.
"Limb regeneration?" Vegeta pondered.
"Simply put, as long as your head remains intact, you can restore your body through regeneration," Shenron explained.
"And after recovering, will my stamina be restored as well?" Vegeta asked again.
"This... I am sorry, it will not!" Shenron shook his head.
"Also, once this wish is granted, will I be able to survive in the vacuum of space?" Vegeta inquired.
"Yes," Shenron nodded.
"Fine, then grant me this wish," Vegeta said.
"Very well." As Shenron spoke, a formless divine power flickered within his eyes.
The divine power rapidly enveloped Vegeta's body.
Vegeta clearly felt his body undergoing a rapid transformation.
His body seemed to be filled with an endless surge of vitality.
"Your wish has been granted. Farewell." After saying this, Shenron transformed back into the seven Dragon Balls.
"Shoo, shoo, shoo!"
In an instant, the seven Dragon Balls turned to stone and scattered across the world.
The sky returned to brightness.
Vegeta flexed his arm.
Immediately after, Vegeta gritted his teeth and ripped his own arm clean off.
The Guardian of Earth and Mr. Popo standing nearby were both startled.
"Hah!"
Vegeta channeled his newfound regenerative ability.
"Sss..."
In just a split second, Vegeta's severed arm grew back.
"Not bad, not bad." Vegeta inspected his newly grown arm; it was fair and smooth, without even a single scar.
Guardian of Earth: "..."
Mr. Popo: "..."
The two were speechless.
So, you were just testing your regenerative ability.
"Very good. From now on, I won't need to bathe. I can just chop my head off and let everything below the neck regenerate," Vegeta smiled.
The Guardian of Earth wiped away sweat.
Mr. Popo was left between laughter and tears.
You possess the power of regeneration, and you're using it just to avoid taking a bath?
