"Indeed, the work is quite dull and tedious," Marcarita said with a smile.
"Repeating the same tasks year after year makes one feel incredibly bored," Vermoud sighed. "Even though destroying a planet is just a momentary act—something I could do with a flick of my finger—I truly find myself too lazy to carry out such work."
"So, how much longer do you intend to wait before retiring, Lord Vermoud?" Marcarita asked.
"Just a few more decades," Vermoud mused. "That fellow Toppo is basically ready."
"While Mr. Toppo's strength is certainly remarkable within our universe, if we look at the entire multiverse, should he become a God of Destruction... I fear he would rank at the very bottom," Marcarita replied.
"How can one see the rainbow without experiencing the storm?" Vermoud said with a laugh. "Let the other Gods of Destruction give him a good beating; I believe he will grow quickly."
"Lord Vermoud is right," Marcarita nodded, finding no fault in his logic.
Just as Marcarita finished speaking, she suddenly sensed something and looked up at the sky.
"Oh my, we have guests," Marcarita smiled.
"Is it Toppo?" Vermoud asked, startled.
"It is not Mr. Toppo, but a God of Destruction from another universe," Marcarita replied.
"A God of Destruction from another universe? What is he doing wandering into our universe for no reason?" Vermoud muttered.
"It is Lord Rumsshi and Sister Cus," Marcarita said, having identified the visitors.
"Rumsshi? What is that bastard doing here? I have nothing in common with that guy; tell him to get lost," Vermoud huffed, then added, "If it were that fellow Helles, I might have some interest. After all, Helles is the only female God of Destruction, and I do enjoy playing with female Gods of Destruction."
"Ho ho ho... Indeed, there is nothing fun about playing with an elephant," Marcarita chuckled.
"Who could argue with that?" Vermoud nodded, his eyes lighting up. "Though, it's fine. I'll bully him for a bit later and then ride him for fun."
"Lord Vermoud, please don't start a fight; our universe cannot withstand a battle between two Gods of Destruction," Marcarita sighed.
"Hmph, we'll see," Vermoud said, looking up at the sky.
Two streams of light in different colors flickered in the heavens.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The next moment, Vegeta and the other two descended from the sky, landing opposite Vermoud and Marcarita.
"Yo, who might this be? Isn't it Rumsshi? What wind blew you here?" Vermoud looked at Rumsshi with a smirk.
Immediately after, Vermoud quickly noticed Vegeta, who was carrying Cus.
Vermoud's reaction was lightning fast.
Could this guy be Rumsshi's apprentice?
If that is truly the case.
He must want his apprentice to spar with mine.
Cus and Marcarita exchanged greetings and bows.
Vegeta, meanwhile, stared unblinkingly at Marcarita.
This twin-tailed angel beauty is truly stunning.
"Rumsshi, have you started taking on apprentices too?" Vermoud smiled. "What? Are you planning to retire?"
"Hmph, retirement is out of the question. I just had nothing better to do, so I took on an apprentice for fun," Rumsshi chuckled. "How about it, Vermoud? Your apprentice has been training for over a hundred years, while I've only been teaching mine for twelve. Both of them are Apprentice Gods of Destruction; how about we let them spar?"
"Of course," Vermoud nodded, agreeing readily.
"Where is your apprentice?" Rumsshi asked, failing to see Toppo.
"He is training on the Pride Planet and rarely returns," Vermoud replied, then instructed Marcarita, "Marcarita, contact Toppo now and have him return as soon as possible."
"Very well, Lord Vermoud," Marcarita nodded and used her staff to reach out to Toppo.
Marcarita quickly finished contacting Toppo.
"Well? When does he plan to arrive?" Rumsshi asked.
"It will take at least two days to return here from the Pride Planet," Marcarita replied.
"What? It takes that long? Go and fetch him," Rumsshi lacked the patience to wait that long.
"Marcarita, you go and pick him up," Vermoud suggested.
Two days was indeed quite a long time.
Besides, during these two days, he would have to host Rumsshi for food and drink.
After all, guests from afar must be treated well.
One couldn't just leave them unentertained.
Therefore, the sooner this match could happen, the better.
"Very well, Lord Vermoud," Marcarita agreed.
"And bring Toppo's senior brother back as well," Vermoud winked at Marcarita.
"Senior brother?" Marcarita muttered.
"Jiren, of course. Marcarita, have you forgotten that I took on two apprentices?" Vermoud laughed triumphantly.
Marcarita suddenly realized.
Lord Vermoud was playing a guaranteed winning hand.
Fearing that Toppo might not be a match for that brat, Lord Vermoud intended to bring Jiren along as well.
If Jiren were to step in, their universe would surely secure victory.
In truth, upon closer reflection, Marcarita realized Lord Vermoud's concerns were not without merit.
Since Lord Rumsshi had brought his own disciple to challenge them personally, he must have been absolutely certain of his victory.
Therefore, bringing Jiren back was a very sound choice.
"Senior disciple?" Rumsshi blinked, stunned. "What senior disciple? You took on two disciples?"
"Of course. Did you think I only had one? I took on the other one a long time ago," Vermoud said with a smile. "However, he has already finished his training, and I haven't seen him in quite some time."
Rumsshi: "..."
Rumsshi suddenly had a bad premonition.
A miscalculation, a grave miscalculation.
He hadn't expected this guy to have another disciple.
Rumsshi immediately turned his head to look at Vegeta, his eyes seemingly asking:
Are you confident?
"Forget about how many disciples he has; it doesn't matter," Vegeta said with a calm expression. "Also, that beautiful angel, how long would it take for you to make a round trip?"
"A round trip would take at least 40 minutes," Marcarita giggled. "Beautiful angel... hee, I quite like that title."
"There's no need for such trouble. Just take me there, and we can fight directly on their planet," Vegeta replied.
"What do you think, Vermoud?" Seeing Vegeta's look of confidence, Rumsshi breathed a slight sigh of relief and asked Vermoud.
"Of course, no problem," Vermoud nodded. "The little guy doesn't look very old, but his fighting spirit is certainly high."
