Soaring Wood Court is one of the Xingyi Sect's five inner courts. Whereas Golden Pivot emphasizes spear combat, Cangming swordsmanship, Flame Chen saber techniques, and Thick Earth staff arts, Soaring Wood centers on the principle of vitality: preserving life, treating injuries, refining medicine, and finding survival in desperate circumstances 76 78 86.

The court's resource-heavy medical and alchemical work shaped an unusual admission practice. In addition to root-bone aptitude, it accepts exceptional entrants who can contribute sufficient wealth or resources; continued membership still depends on cultivation progress, and those who fail to make meaningful progress within a year may be advised to leave 77. Chen Jianghe entered through this route and formally joined in Chapter 78 77 78.

Although outsiders sometimes dismiss the court as suited only to support work, its Withered Wood Meets Spring Art provides a durable foundation for advancing toward Gang Strength, while its hidden weapons, medicine, and mobility techniques offer practical means of survival and combat 79 86.

Chief Disciple Succession

Liu Shuling served as the court's established Chief Disciple and had advanced steadily from Transforming Strength to Gang Strength over years of cultivation 129. When Han Shuitian opened the position to challenge, he declared that either Liu or Chen could hold it and that the result would be decided solely by their abilities 129.

Chen Jianghe defeated Liu Shuling in their arena duel. Liu achieved a breakthrough to peak Gang Strength during the battle and became an elder, while Chen was named the new Chief Disciple 131. His appointment placed him in charge of the court's resources and gave him responsibility for protecting its disciples 133.
