"Huu--"

Once the concussion subsided, Fang Cheng let out a long breath and walked over to Morishita Yamato.

Morishita Yamato was curled into a ball; the agony in his groin and the concussion had left him nearly unconscious.

Fang Cheng squatted down, grabbed him by the hair, and slapped him awake.

"Who put you up to this? Was it Kanzaki Rin?"

Morishita Yamato didn't answer, merely staring at Fang Cheng with a vicious glare.

He wanted to jump up and fight to the death, but the searing pain between his legs and the dizziness in his head left him without the strength to move.

"Not talking, huh?"

Fang Cheng grabbed his head and slammed it hard against the floor.

Bang. Morishita Yamato let out a miserable shriek as the wounds on his face split open once more.

Fang Cheng didn't stop. He grabbed Morishita Yamato's head and slammed it into the floor again—bang, bang, bang—until blood splattered everywhere.

"N-no one put me up to it! It was my own idea! I don't want anyone getting close to Kanzaki!"

Morishita Yamato screamed. He was finally terrified, afraid that this madman would actually beat him to death.

"Then if you've got the balls, go win her over yourself. What the hell does that have to do with me?"

Fang Cheng slammed his head down two more times, leaving Morishita Yamato wailing uncontrollably.

Fang Cheng still wouldn't let him off: "I bet you know some gangsters outside of school, and you'll probably come looking for trouble later. How about I just beat you to death right now and go hide in prison for a few years? What do you think?"

He kept slamming him as he spoke, scaring Morishita Yamato into shrieking like a pathetic two-hundred-pound child.

"No, I don't know any gangsters! I won't come looking for trouble again!"

"Really? I'll take your word for it. Don't let me down."

Fang Cheng finally let go of Morishita Yamato and stood up. The other two basketball club members were still lying on the ground playing dead, not daring to risk their lives for their boss against this lunatic.

Was Fang Cheng a lunatic? Perhaps. If he hadn't been a little crazy, the one lying on the ground today would have been him.

However, besides Fang Cheng, there was one other person who hadn't collapsed: Miyamoto Masami, who was sitting in the spectator stands.

Miyamoto Masami had been staring blankly ever since Fang Cheng launched his counterattack, and she remained that way even now.

She was used to seeing Morishita Yamato beat up students, teachers, and disobedient lackeys, but this was the first time she had ever seen him pinned to the ground and pummeled.

And the one doing the beating was just an ordinary student who was completely outmatched in size, strength, and numbers.

The contrast was so jarring that she was left utterly stunned.

It wasn't until Fang Cheng walked up to her that Miyamoto Masami snapped out of it, recoiling in terror as if she had seen a ghost.

"Don't move."

Fang Cheng's single command froze Miyamoto Masami in her tracks.

Her voice trembled: "W-what are you doing?"

Fang Cheng didn't answer. He took the milk tea from her hand and popped the lid; it was still more than half full.

Fang Cheng poured the milk tea over Miyamoto Masami's head, drenching her completely.

Miyamoto Masami trembled all over, whimpering, but she didn't dare move an inch.

Fang Cheng splashed the last of the milk tea onto Miyamoto Masami's face and then inverted the cup onto her head.

"Let me wash your face for you. Don't show up in front of me with this disgusting makeup again. It makes me want to puke."

He rummaged through Miyamoto Masami's bag, pulled out a pack of tissues to wipe the blood off his own head and face, then picked up his bag from the side and turned to leave.

The basketball court fell into silence. The three muscle-bound thugs were still lying on the ground playing dead, and Miyamoto Masami remained frozen, the milk tea cup still perched on her head.

It was as if whoever moved first would have to accept the shame of this defeat.

The awkward silence was finally broken by the sound of footsteps.

A handsome boy walked into the basketball court. The school uniform he wore didn't make him look green; instead, it carried an air of maturity and composure.

Aoki Yusuke—the one who truly sat at the very top of the student hierarchy.

The student council president, the son of a school board member, and a prominent figure rumored to be secretly dating Kanzaki Rin. Even Morishita Yamato could only obey his orders.

Seeing the three of them on the ground, Aoki Yusuke frowned slightly.

The two basketball club members didn't dare play dead anymore; they hurriedly endured their dizziness to climb up and help Morishita Yamato to his feet.

Aoki Yusuke didn't ask why the three of them were in such a miserable state, but instead asked: "What did he say?"

Morishita Yamato looked ashamed: "I'm sorry, Yusuke. We didn't get what we wanted. That brat denied having any special relationship with Kanzaki, wouldn't say how they met, and refused to stay away from her."

Aoki Yusuke said kindly: "It's alright, you've worked hard. Leave the rest to me."

He instructed the two basketball club members: "Take Yamato to the infirmary quickly. The school doctor shouldn't have left yet."

The two nodded in agreement, and only then did Aoki Yusuke turn and leave.

The two of them supported Morishita Yamato as they headed toward the infirmary, Morishita Yamato remaining silent the entire way.

One of them finally couldn't help but ask, "Department Head, are we just going to let it go like this?"

"Let it go?"

The silent Morishita Yamato seemed like a lion provoked in an instant, his hands clenched tight, his face twisted in a snarl.

"No, it's only just begun!!"

By the time he walked out of the school, Fang Cheng's injuries had completely healed, leaving only the bloodstains on his uniform.

Fortunately, the students had already cleared out, so he didn't attract any attention.

Today's encounter was completely unexpected. Although he had temporarily dealt with Morishita Yamato, Fang Cheng didn't feel the slightest bit relieved.

That was because he didn't believe a word Morishita Yamato had said.

There must be someone pulling the strings behind this gorilla, but unfortunately, Fang Cheng had no way to drag them out for now; the only thing he could be sure of was that it had something to do with Kanzaki Rin.

Furthermore, Morishita Yamato would never give up on his revenge against Fang Cheng. The words of submission from earlier were just something to listen to; he would come back sooner or later.

Fang Cheng couldn't stop any of this, so the only thing he could do was strengthen himself as quickly as possible to gain the power to protect himself.

When he emerged from the subway station, the sky had already turned dim, and the neon lights flickered on, painting the entire city in a kaleidoscope of colors.

Enduring the hunger in his stomach, Fang Cheng quickened his pace toward home.

Once night fell, the number of pedestrians on the streets dropped rapidly. Unless they were in the absolutely safe areas of the city center, the citizens had long since developed the habit of returning home at night.

"Hm? What's that smell?"

On the sparsely populated street, Fang Cheng suddenly caught a whiff of a scent like fresh blood, drifting from an alleyway by the side of the road.

One or two pedestrians hurried past, acting as if they hadn't smelled the stench, or perhaps they had, but didn't dare to get involved.

Fang Cheng's gaze fell upon the pitch-black alley entrance, but in the end, he stepped away.

He had enough trouble of his own; he had no interest in inviting any more.

As Fang Cheng turned to leave, a graceful female figure stepped out from the dark alley.

She was an adult woman, around twenty-five years old, with delicate and cute features, dressed in office attire.

She stared at Fang Cheng's retreating back, her bright red tongue licking her lips, her eyes glowing.

"Finally... found you."

I went to get my wisdom teeth pulled today, and two burly doctors held my head down and worked on me for over an hour. It hurt like hell.
