Perfect Coordination

Seeing Fang Cheng and Kanzaki Rin arguing, Yagawa Ryoka hurriedly turned and ran. She had no intention of sticking around to fight these two brats to the death.

She had just rushed out of the kitchen and into the living room when a dining table came hurtling toward her with a whoosh.

With nowhere to dodge, Yagawa Ryoka could only shield her head with her arms.

The table slammed into her and sent her tumbling into the living room.

After throwing the table, Fang Cheng leaped out of the kitchen and chased after her. He punched across the table.

With a sharp crack, his fist punched through the thick wooden board. Splinters flew as it struck Yagawa Ryoka in the shoulder.

Yagawa Ryoka spun through the air and crashed into the sofa, flipping it over.

Fang Cheng pulled his arm out of the table and hurried after her in two strides.

The sofa on the floor suddenly shot into the air and hurtled toward Fang Cheng.

He raised an arm to block it. The powerful force behind the sofa shoved him back two steps before he came to a stop.

Yagawa Ryoka rose from the floor, her whole appearance now completely transformed.

Her irises glowed red, and the whites of her eyes had turned entirely black. Two long fangs had grown in her mouth, and the nails on both hands had become sharp and elongated.

Dense veins bulged beneath her once-pretty face and all over her skin, writhing like worms.

Now Yagawa Ryoka looked far more like a Vampire.

Fang Cheng was startled by her appearance. "You can transform?"

Kanzaki Rin rushed out of the kitchen. Seeing what had happened, she hurriedly warned him, "Careful, she's about to go berserk."

"Anyone can see that. Do you have anything else to say? Like, what's the difference between her transformed and untransformed?"

"I don't know."

"Damn it, what use are you?"

Fang Cheng's punch had nearly dislocated Yagawa Ryoka's shoulder. Her muscles writhed as they repaired the damage.

She stared fixedly at Fang Cheng and rasped, "Do you really have to fight me to the death? There are other Vampires in this city. If we both get badly hurt, someone else will benefit. Just let me go, and I promise I'll leave Tokyo and never come back for the rest of my life."

Fang Cheng glanced back at Kanzaki Rin and grinned. "Look at that. Her offer's a lot better than yours."

Kanzaki Rin was about to argue when she noticed Fang Cheng's hand behind his back, gesturing at her.

She furrowed her brow, but quickly realized what he meant and gave him a knowing look.

Their eyes met. Only then did Fang Cheng turn back to face Yagawa Ryoka.

This Vampire had come after him and tried to take one of his lives. Now that things weren't going her way, she wanted peace. The world didn't work like that.

If Kanzaki Rin joined in the attack, he had a decent chance of subduing Yagawa Ryoka quickly.

"Fine, you can surrender. All you have to do is—"

Fang Cheng was about to use his words to disguise his intention to attack when Kanzaki Rin suddenly rushed to the entrance and firmly blocked the doorway.

Fang Cheng: ???

Yagawa Ryoka: ???

The two of them stared at Kanzaki Rin in confusion. She looked back at Fang Cheng just as puzzled. "Why haven't you attacked yet?"

Fang Cheng's mouth fell open as if he'd seen a ghost. "Are you sure you understood what I meant?"

Kanzaki Rin realized they seemed to have misunderstood each other. "Weren't you telling me to block the door so she couldn't escape?"

Fang Cheng slapped a hand over his face.

This was hopeless. They didn't have even the tiniest bit of rapport.

The woman's mind worked like a tofu delivery truck on Akina Mountain. Even an experienced driver like him couldn't keep up.

Kanzaki Rin kept a straight face and said nothing.

Could she really be blamed? Who on earth could've guessed what Fang Cheng's hand gestures behind his back meant?

It was already impressive that she'd figured he wanted her to block the door.

Yagawa Ryoka understood their baffling exchange. She realized Fang Cheng had wanted to trap her in the house.

She let out an enraged shriek and lunged at him.

Her transformation had made her much faster, but Fang Cheng could still follow her movements. He punched straight at her.

Yagawa Ryoka nimbly twisted out of the way and pressed herself against him, driving her sharp nails into his body.

"Hiss!"

Fang Cheng sucked in a breath from the pain and tried to pull her off him.

But Yagawa Ryoka was as nimble as a snake. She quickly slipped behind him, raking wide gashes across his body with her nails.

Fang Cheng grabbed her hand and wrenched it away, but she sank her teeth into the back of his neck and began sucking his blood.

A ball of flame blasted over out of nowhere, setting Fang Cheng and Yagawa Ryoka alight.

Yagawa Ryoka finally couldn't bear the searing flames and screamed.

Fang Cheng was in pain too, but he could endure far more than she could. Seizing the opportunity, he grabbed her and flung her away.

Seeing Yagawa Ryoka fly into the wall, Kanzaki Rin hurriedly recalled the scattered flames from a distance to prevent a fire.

Fang Cheng didn't criticize her for hitting a teammate with an area attack. Instead, he strode toward Yagawa Ryoka, the wounds on his body already healing rapidly.

Yagawa Ryoka's wounds healed noticeably more slowly than Fang Cheng's. She had only just grown back the hair that had burned away when Fang Cheng grabbed her and landed two heavy punches on her repulsive face.

Yagawa Ryoka's face was battered and bloody. In desperation, she yanked hard, tearing off her scalp along with her hair, then smashed her head into Fang Cheng's chin.

Fang Cheng's head snapped back from the impact. A moment later, pain flared in his chest.

Yagawa Ryoka's fingers had pierced his chest, trying to dig out his heart again.

Fang Cheng quickly grabbed her hands and pinned them down. Then he pitched forward and smashed his head into Yagawa Ryoka's face.

When it came to having a hard head, Fang Cheng feared no one.

The headbutt left Yagawa Ryoka's face a bloody mess and knocked out both of her fangs.

Fang Cheng showed no mercy just because she was a woman. He pinned her down and beat her mercilessly.

"Ah!"

Dazed from the beating, Yagawa Ryoka suddenly let out a shriek. The bulging veins across her body burst one after another, spraying out a great deal of blood.

The blood was highly corrosive. Wherever it splashed, white smoke immediately rose.

Fang Cheng was too close. The blood sprayed across his head and face, and his whole body instantly billowed with thick smoke as the acid left him horribly disfigured.

Yagawa Ryoka didn't take the chance to attack Fang Cheng. Instead, she ran past him to escape.

She didn't choose the front door, which Kanzaki Rin was blocking. She went for the living room window, intending to smash through it.

Kanzaki Rin hurriedly snapped her fingers and sent flames blasting toward the window to block it.

Yagawa Ryoka ignored the flames in front of her and leaped straight through them, crashing into the window.

The window had already been broken when Kanzaki Rin's drone launched a smoke grenade at it. With Yagawa Ryoka's full weight crashing into it, the remaining glass shattered with ease.

She quickly glanced back and saw that Fang Cheng had already caught up and grabbed her foot.
