Seeing Fang Cheng and Kanzaki Rin start to bicker, Yagawa Ryoka turned and bolted; she had no intention of staying behind to fight to the death with these two brats.
She had just rushed from the kitchen into the living room when a dining table came whistling through the air, slamming toward her with immense force.
With nowhere to hide, Yagawa Ryoka could only shield her head with her arms.
The table crashed heavily into her, shoving her backward into the living room.
After throwing the table, Fang Cheng leaped out of the kitchen, chased into the living room, and threw a punch from behind the furniture.
With a crisp, shattering sound, his fist punched through the thick wood, sending splinters flying as it struck Yagawa Ryoka's shoulder.
Yagawa Ryoka spun through the air and slammed into the sofa, knocking it over.
Fang Cheng pulled his arm out of the table and rushed forward in two strides.
The sofa on the floor suddenly flew up, hurtling toward him.
Fang Cheng raised his arms to block, but the sheer force behind the sofa pushed him back two steps before he could steady himself.
Yagawa Ryoka stood up from the floor, her entire appearance having undergone a drastic change.
Her pupils were glowing red, her sclera had turned completely black, two long fangs protruded from her mouth, and the nails on her hands had grown sharp and elongated.
Dense, pulsating veins bulged across her delicate, lovely face and skin, writhing like worms.
Only now did Yagawa Ryoka truly resemble a vampire.
Fang Cheng was startled by her transformation: "You can even change forms?"
Kanzaki Rin rushed out of the kitchen and warned, "Watch out, she's going berserk."
"Do you really need to tell me something that obvious? Can't you say something useful, like the difference between her transformed and untransformed states?"
"I don't know."
"Damn it, what use are you?"
Yagawa Ryoka's shoulder had been nearly dislocated by Fang Cheng's punch, and the muscles were already writhing as they repaired themselves.
She stared intently at Fang Cheng and rasped, "Do you really have to fight me to the death? There are other vampires in this city; if we both end up crippled, it will only benefit someone else. If you let me go, I promise to leave Tokyo and never return for the rest of my life."
Fang Cheng glanced back at Kanzaki Rin and chuckled, "Look at that, her offer is much more generous than yours."
Kanzaki Rin was about to retort when she noticed Fang Cheng's hand hidden behind his back, gesturing at her.
Kanzaki Rin frowned slightly, but she quickly understood what the gesture meant and gave him a knowing look.
With their silent agreement established, Fang Cheng turned back to face Yagawa Ryoka.
This vampire had come to ambush him for his life, and now that things weren't going her way, she wanted peace—as if such a thing existed in this world.
As long as Kanzaki Rin coordinated her attack, he was confident he could subdue Yagawa Ryoka quickly.
"Surrendering is fine, as long as you..."
Just as Fang Cheng was about to use his words to mask his intent to attack, Kanzaki Rin suddenly sprinted to the entryway, firmly blocking the door.
Fang Cheng: ???
Yagawa Ryoka: ???
The two of them stared at Kanzaki Rin in confusion, while she looked back at Fang Cheng, puzzled: "Why aren't you attacking?"
Fang Cheng's mouth hung open, looking as if he'd seen a ghost: "Are you sure you understood what I meant?"
Kanzaki Rin realized their interpretations had diverged: "Weren't you telling me to block the door so she couldn't run?"
Fang Cheng slapped his own face.
Damn it, there was absolutely zero chemistry between them.
This woman's thought process was like a tofu truck on Mount Akina; even an old pro like him couldn't keep up.
Kanzaki Rin kept a straight face and said nothing.
Could she be blamed for this? Who the hell knew what Fang Cheng's hand gestures behind his back meant?
The fact that she had managed to interpret it as "block the door" was already an achievement.
Yagawa Ryoka, however, had understood their confusing exchange and realized Fang Cheng's plan to trap her like a turtle in a jar.
She let out a shriek as if provoked and lunged at Fang Cheng.
Her speed had increased significantly after "transforming," but Fang Cheng could still track her, and he met her with a punch.
Yagawa Ryoka nimbly dodged the blow, pressed herself against him, and sank her sharp nails into his body.
"Hiss!"
Fang Cheng gasped in pain, trying to rip Yagawa Ryoka off him.
But she was as agile as a snake, quickly circling behind him and raking her nails across his back, leaving deep gashes.
Fang Cheng grabbed her hand to pry it off, but she bit down on the back of his neck and began to drink his blood ravenously.
A ball of flame roared out of thin air, instantly setting both Fang Cheng and Yagawa Ryoka ablaze.
Yagawa Ryoka finally shrieked, unable to withstand the searing heat of the fire.
Fang Cheng was in pain too, but his tolerance was clearly higher than Yagawa Ryoka's, so he seized the chance to grab her and hurl her away.
Seeing Yagawa Ryoka fly off and slam into the wall, Kanzaki Rin hurriedly retracted the scattered flames through the air to prevent a fire.
Fang Cheng did not reproach her for attacking her own teammate, but instead strode toward Yagawa Ryoka, his injuries already rapidly healing.
Yagawa Ryoka's recovery speed was noticeably slower than Fang Cheng's; she had only just begun to regrow her burnt-off hair when Fang Cheng grabbed her by the scalp and landed two heavy punches on her disgusting face.
With her face a bloody mess, Yagawa Ryoka lashed out viciously, tearing off her own scalp along with her hair, and delivered a headbutt straight to Fang Cheng's chin.
Fang Cheng's head snapped back from the impact, and he immediately felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Yagawa Ryoka's ten fingers had already pierced into Fang Cheng's chest, intent on digging his heart out once again.
Fang Cheng quickly grabbed her wrists, pinning her palms, and whipped his head forward, slamming it heavily into Yagawa Ryoka's face.
When it came to having a hard head, Fang Cheng had never feared anyone.
This headbutt smashed Yagawa Ryoka's face into a pulp of flesh and blood, even knocking out two of her fangs.
Fang Cheng showed no mercy just because she was a woman, pinning her down and unleashing a brutal beating.
"Ah!"
Dazed and disoriented from the blows, Yagawa Ryoka suddenly let out a shriek as the bulging veins all over her body burst, spraying a massive amount of blood.
This blood was highly corrosive, and white smoke hissed up wherever it landed.
Fang Cheng was too close and was sprayed directly in the face and head; thick smoke instantly billowed from his body as he was corroded beyond recognition.
Yagawa Ryoka did not take the opportunity to ambush Fang Cheng, choosing instead to bypass him and flee.
She did not head for the main door, which was blocked by Kanzaki Rin, but toward the living room window, intending to smash through it and escape.
Kanzaki Rin hurriedly snapped her fingers, sending a blast of flame to seal the window.
Ignoring the fire in front of her, Yagawa Ryoka leaped straight through the flames and slammed into the window.
The window had already been shattered when Kanzaki Rin deployed smoke grenades via drone, so when Yagawa Ryoka's entire body hit it, the remaining glass was easily pulverized.
She hurriedly looked back, only to find that Fang Cheng had already caught up and grabbed her by the foot.
