A laser sliced Kuroishi Yuto's body in half. He managed to stagger forward a couple more steps before collapsing to the ground, blood and entrails spilling everywhere.
"Ah!"
Kuroishi Yuto looked back at his severed body and let out a scream.
Even if he could recover, the pain of being cut in half was more than an ordinary person could endure.
As soon as Kuroishi Yuto hit the ground, copious amounts of milky-white foam sprayed out from the bushes on both sides, engulfing him from head to toe.
Fang Cheng had already stopped. He turned to look and saw that the foam had come from machines that looked a little like fan-style air conditioners.
There was one on each side, hidden in the bushes and pointed at Kuroishi Yuto in the middle.
The spray wasn't ordinary foam. It was a rapid-setting agent that hardened to a consistency comparable to cement.

The hardened agent was pierced and scattered, reduced to fragments across the ground.
Fang Cheng reacted quickly and dodged, but the crystals still pierced his shoulder and thigh, leaving him hanging on the "sea urchin."
Kuroishi Yuto's face was in the middle of the "sea urchin." He opened his mouth and roared at Fang Cheng, spraying saliva everywhere.
Just like Yagawa Ryoka, Kuroishi Yuto had lost his reason after transforming.
According to the information on vampires, once they went berserk, their minds were consumed by the desire to kill and destroy. They could only regain their composure after venting that desire.
Of course, there was another way: destroy them completely.
Fang Cheng endured the pain and tried to pull himself off the "sea urchin." Without warning, another thick crystal shot out, stabbing straight toward him.

The engine roared to life. The car's headlights opened like a giant beast's eyes, sending two beams of light through the night.
The car burst through the bushes and charged at Kuroishi Yuto with unstoppable force.
The moment it hit, Kanzaki Rin opened the driver's-side door and leaped out. A flood of crystals immediately pierced the hood and windows, riddling the cabin with holes.
Had Kanzaki Rin been a moment slower, she would have been turned into a pincushion. She didn't have Fang Cheng's undying body; a fatal wound would mean the end for her.
The car, now out of control, continued speeding forward, shoving Kuroishi Yuto through the bushes. It also smashed into one of the Rapid Condensation Machines, sending countless particles of the agent flying like snowflakes.
The runaway car finally stopped when it crashed into an embankment, pinning Kuroishi Yuto firmly against it with its front end.
Kanzaki Rin had just brushed past death, but she didn't panic. She got up from the ground, a long duffel bag still slung across her back.
She summoned several police drones, then took out a stun gun and slowly approached Kuroishi Yuto.
Kuroishi Yuto lay motionless against the embankment, as if he were already dead.
But Kanzaki Rin wasn't about to fall for it. She had seen too many people fake their deaths.
Once she had gotten close enough, Kanzaki Rin stopped.
She smelled gasoline. The car must have sprung a leak.
A flicker of hesitation crossed Kanzaki Rin's eyes, but she quickly made up her mind. She raised a hand, ready to conjure flames and ignite the fuel tank, giving Kuroishi Yuto a brutal blow.
Kanzaki Rin's judgment was right. As soon as she stopped, all the crystals on Kuroishi Yuto's body fused together.
A red flash flickered, and the car was instantly sliced into pieces.
Kuroishi Yuto, whose lower body had already recovered, leaped up and pounced straight at Kanzaki Rin.
Kanzaki Rin pushed off with her toes and swiftly retreated, pressing the control button on her wrist at the same time.
The drones immediately fired several nets, accurately covering Kuroishi Yuto.
The nets were made of special fibers and were exceptionally tough. The police used them specifically to capture dangerous criminals.
As soon as Kuroishi Yuto was caught in the nets, Kanzaki Rin aimed the stun gun at him and pulled the trigger.
Arcs of electricity shot out, making Kuroishi Yuto writhe and howl inside the net.
The crystals on his body separated again and gathered around his ten fingers, turning into a set of short blades.
He slashed with his fingers, and the sharp crystals cut through the net with ease.
Kanzaki Rin's expression changed. She emptied the stun gun's charge in one go, then snapped her fingers several times. Blazing flames shot from her fingertips.
Kuroishi Yuto endured the electricity and flames, then sprang into the air, fingers spread, and lunged straight at Kanzaki Rin.
Kanzaki Rin swiftly pulled a silver longsword from the duffel bag on her back. Gripping it with both hands, she advanced instead of retreating and thrust it fiercely toward Kuroishi Yuto's head.
A look of resolve flashed across her eyes. She knew there was no way she could escape Kuroishi Yuto's pursuit, so she might as well go all out and take her chance with an attack.
