In this world where time had stopped, the only ones capable of movement were Izanae and the woman who had suddenly emerged from behind Kanzaki Rin.

This woman glowed with the intensity of a sun, making it impossible to discern her true features; one could only judge her gender by the elegant curves of her silhouette.

"Who are you?!"

Ignoring the blinding glare that would have scorched any ordinary eyes, Izanae stared directly at the woman and asked with hesitation, "A warden of Earth?"

She spoke in a completely alien language, one that had never appeared on Earth before.

If Fang Cheng were here, he would have recognized the language Izanae used as the same one he had seen in his mother's memories.

"It is I. You may call me Malan."

The woman standing behind Kanzaki Rin spoke softly. "But I prefer another name: Yaoguang. It is the name my children gave to a star after observing the night sky. I like it very much."

Izanae watched her with vigilance. "Why stop us? We only wish to leave; we have no desire to participate in the struggles between you."

"I do not oppose your departure."

Yaoguang replied in a measured tone, "But you cannot take this child with you. He is very important to me."

Izanae hesitated for a moment, appearing indecisive, before finally steeling her resolve. "I can release his soul..."

"No!"

Yaoguang cut her off. "This body as well. It belongs to General Nuoya and must remain here."

Izanae's expression turned cold. "Do not be so greedy!"

Without this body, how were she and Tsukimi Mei supposed to escape?

Yaoguang shook her head. "This is not greed. Both this child and General Nuoya's body are Earth's last hope. How could I let you take them away?"
