After a day of travel, the group arrived at a beach, facing the vast ocean and letting the sea breeze lash against them.
"Wow, Sea Turtle, the place you live is huge!" Goku was deeply shocked by the boundless sea. Though it was still water, this was vastly different from the small rivers and lakes he knew.
"I truly thank you all; you saved my life." As the Sea Turtle entered the ocean, his exhausted vitality began to recover, and he was overjoyed. "Could you please wait here for a moment? I would like to give you a gift."
"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere," the Sea Turtle said, before swimming further and further away until he vanished from sight.
"A gift? Hey, do you think the gift might be a Dragon Ball? There's one in this sea, you know." Bulma pulled out her radar and noticed the Dragon Ball was in the same direction the Sea Turtle had headed.
"I don't know, but even if it isn't, we can still ask the Sea Turtle for help finding it. Isn't the ocean his home? He'll definitely be able to find it." As he spoke, Goku quickly kicked off his shoes and began playing in the shallows, chasing after crabs.
"You little brat, you don't understand anything. This is the ocean! Do you have any idea how big it is? Do you know what kind of things are in there? There are giant sharks, octopuses bigger than houses, and maybe even monsters that haven't been discovered yet. That little sea turtle wouldn't even be a snack for them..." Bulma was speechless; this kid made it sound so easy.
Wuchen remained silent, his curiosity growing heavier. Setting aside the fact that this sea turtle could speak human language, they had encountered a Bear Beast on the road that could also talk, wore a combat uniform, and looked quite intimidating. However, its combat power was truly pathetic; Goku had barely lifted a finger before it collapsed.
It seemed that in this realm, beasts speaking human language was a common occurrence, yet in all their years on Mount Paozu, the brothers had never encountered such a thing.
Wuchen naturally couldn't fathom the reasons behind this. Let alone him, many fans of the world couldn't either; in the Dragon Ball world, even the King was a dog, yet the streets were still filled with pet dogs and strays, as if dogs and dogs were two completely different species. There was even Oolong, who had the face of a pig, yet often ate roast suckling pig.
"He's here." Before Wuchen could ponder further, a figure appeared on the surface of the sea, catching his eye as it rode atop the earlier Sea Turtle.
"It's the Sea Turtle, and he's carrying someone on his back," Goku noted, looking over as well.
"What are your eyes made of? How can you see so far?" Bulma, however, saw nothing at all.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Before long, the Sea Turtle's voice reached them, and he pulled up to the shore, where the person on his back hopped off.
"Good afternoon, everyone." The newcomer was naturally Master Roshi. "So, you are the ones who saved the Sea Turtle?"
"Old man, who are you?" Goku and Bulma were full of curiosity. The Sea Turtle had promised a gift, so why had he brought a person? Wuchen's pupils constricted slightly; the man had a turtle shell on his back and exuded a faint, powerful pressure. Could he be a transformed Turtle Beast?
"I am Master Roshi," the old man announced, then turned to the Sea Turtle. "Who saved you?"
Master Roshi? A transformed Turtle Beast, no doubt. Wuchen had an enlightened expression, silently labeling Master Roshi as a "turtle spirit" in his mind, while also wondering how one could become a spirit in a place devoid of spiritual energy.
"It was those two little brothers." Whether it was because Bulma had initially refused to help him, the Sea Turtle didn't mention her at all when it came time to reward his saviors.
"You two have really worked hard. I shall give you each a good item as a gift." Master Roshi spoke to Goku and Wuchen. Without waiting for a reply, he turned to the sky and shouted, "Come forth, Immortal Bird!"
"Immortal Bird? A bird that never dies?" Everyone was startled, yet there was no reaction from the sky.
Only the Sea Turtle spoke up weakly, "Master, that Immortal Bird died two years ago from food poisoning."
"..." Everyone was embarrassed. This trendy old man seemed rather unreliable. Only Master Roshi remained calm. "I named him Immortal Bird hoping he would live forever, but I suppose he died anyway. In that case..."
"Come forth, Flying Nimbus!" Master Roshi shouted at the sky once more, and this time, the sky responded. A golden object tore through the air, leaving a golden streak against the blue, before coming to a sudden stop in front of them—it was a golden cloud!
Looking at Goku, Master Roshi said, "I'll give this Flying Nimbus to you."
"A cloud, it's really a cloud!" Bulma was shocked.
"This... how do you eat this?" Goku was Goku, after all; everything eventually came back to food.
This turtle is truly extraordinary, Wuchen thought, feeling a slight tremor of surprise.
"This cloud isn't for eating. If you ride it, you can fly through the sky as you please. However, the Flying Nimbus can only be ridden by those who are pure of heart—simply put, only good children can ride it. Watch, I'll demonstrate." Adjusting his sunglasses, Master Roshi jumped onto the cloud.
"Thud!" As expected, he fell heavily to the ground. What a lecherous old man.
"I want to try too!" Goku was intrigued and jumped up. Unlike Master Roshi, he landed steadily on the Flying Nimbus. "Yahoo! I'm riding it!" Goku cheered, which piqued Wuchen's curiosity. He immediately tried to jump up lightly as well. As his feet made contact with the cloud, he didn't feel the sensation of hitting the ground.
Just as he began to doubt himself, he found his footing, though he sank a bit deeper than Goku. His heart was pure, but perhaps not entirely.
"To think that in one day, I would meet two people capable of riding the Flying Nimbus." Master Roshi was filled with emotion. Considering that even he, a highly upright martial arts master, couldn't ride it, the requirements for the Flying Nimbus were truly strict. These two children were a rare find.
"Flying Nimbus! Fly!" With a shout from Goku, the cloud carried the two brothers into the sky, soaring through the blue and skimming across the sea, kicking up wings of spray. Bulma watched with envy.
"What about me? Old man, why don't you give me a Flying Nimbus too?"
"Did this girl save you?" Master Roshi asked the Sea Turtle. The Sea Turtle replied truthfully, "Not at all." Bulma bristled instantly. "What do you mean? I gave you a bucket of salt water!"
"Is that so? What a pity. There is only one Flying Nimbus, but I can give you something else instead. However... you must let me see your panties first." Master Roshi, true to his reputation as a martial arts master, quickly came up with a compromise: he would give the gift, but he wanted compensation.
As soon as these words left his mouth, the Sea Turtle was the first to lose his composure. "You are a master! How... how can you make such a request! I know why you can't ride the Flying Nimbus, you lecherous old man!"
Bulma, however, began to weigh her options. Since this old man could produce a Flying Nimbus, he must have other treasures. It was just a look, so she wouldn't lose much; she could just pretend she was at the beach for a swim.
"Only a look, okay!" Bulma immediately lifted her skirt, revealing everything! The future Vegeta was being "greened" for the first time. Fortunately, Wuchen made Goku practice his staff work every morning, so there were no incidents of stripping for inspection, and Vegeta's "greening" wasn't too severe.
Even so, Master Roshi's nose bled profusely, and he felt thoroughly satisfied.
"Master, that's enough, right? Can you give me the gift now?" Bulma's face flushed as she hurriedly demanded her prize. She'd let him look, so it was time to pay up.
"Ah, yes, yes. Let me think, let me think, what should I give you?" The top donor fell into deep thought. Bulma, however, had already locked her eyes on the accessory around his neck. "Is that... a Dragon Ball?"
"That one, I want that one. The orb around your neck."
"This? How is it? Pretty, isn't it? I picked it up on the ocean floor a hundred years ago." As he spoke, Master Roshi took the orb from his neck and handed it to Bulma.
"Great! It really is a Dragon Ball! Thank you, Master!" Bulma was overjoyed. With this one, they had four in total; they weren't far from collecting all seven.
"Wait, I haven't said I'd give it to you yet." Seeing this, Master Roshi tried to raise the price.
"Don't be so stingy. Look, look." Bulma immediately lifted her skirt again. Vegeta, green pigment +1, +2, +3...
"Alright, alright, take it, take it!" After a continuous nosebleed, Master Roshi couldn't take it anymore.
"Goku, Wuchen, come back! We found the fourth Dragon Ball!" In her excitement, Bulma hurriedly called out to Goku and Wuchen. In this exchange, both she and Master Roshi felt they had come out on top.
As for Goku and Wuchen, they paid no mind to Bulma at this moment.
On the Flying Nimbus, Wuchen remained quiet, not daring to disturb him. Goku sat cross-legged, his eyes tightly shut.
Just a moment ago, while racing across the sky above the ocean, Goku had experienced a sudden realization.
Surging waves are water; calm seas are water; the boundless ocean is water; the babbling brook is water...
Formless water takes on all forms: rain, dew, rivers, lakes, the sea... Boundless water contains all things: sand, stones, fish, shrimp, sea turtles, crabs...
Yes, following his mastery of the momentum of fire, Goku had now gained an understanding of the momentum of water.
