"Did they do anything? It seems like there's been a strange change," Bulma said, and even Master Roshi looked up at the Flying Nimbus and the two brothers, Wuchen, in the sky with confusion.
"Goku! Wuchen! What's wrong with you two? Come down quickly!" Bulma continued to shout. What was wrong with these two brothers? Were they asleep? Sleeping on a cloud? How could they be so carefree?
There was no immediate response. After a while, the Flying Nimbus slowly descended.
"Shh. Don't disturb Goku," Wuchen said softly, stopping Bulma, who was about to speak, as he landed the Flying Nimbus. He then jumped off the cloud himself and gestured for everyone to follow him to the side to talk.
"Young man, did that child named Goku do anything special?" Master Roshi asked with some curiosity. Bulma was no exception: "Why can Goku sleep in the sky? Isn't he afraid of falling?"
Wuchen initially didn't want to explain. However, considering that Bulma's shouting might disturb Goku, and flying further away on the Flying Nimbus wasn't ideal, he had descended. He needed to provide an explanation.
"Goku and I have been cultivating in the deep mountains since we were young. Today, seeing the sea for the first time, we've had quite an epiphany. He is currently communing with nature and must not be disturbed, or it will harm his mind."
Hiding the truth within the truth, Wuchen didn't want to reveal their cultivation but also didn't intend to lie. He just wanted to get it over with.
Bulma listened to the explanation and felt speechless. These two brothers were truly strange.
First, they wore fake tails to look stylish, then they said incomprehensible things to appear mysterious, and now they were saying things that were understandable but utterly baffling. She suspected they had some minor mental issues.
'Cultivating? Communing with nature?' Master Roshi, on the other hand, looked thoughtful.
He recalled the time hundreds of years ago when he received guidance from Korin at Korin Tower. At that time, he had been practicing a similar state of mind.
He kept glancing at Goku on the Flying Nimbus. Seeing that he seemed immersed in some unknown state, undisturbed by external matters, Master Roshi was somewhat shocked and a faint thought of taking him as a disciple arose.
However, the thought of potentially delaying his own "studies" made him dismiss the idea.
"So that's how it is. By the way, I haven't given you a gift yet. Let me think, what would be a good gift for you?"
"Master Roshi, you are too kind. It was just a small favor, and we don't expect anything in return. Just this Flying Nimbus is already overwhelming us. We really wouldn't dare to take anything else from you."
Wuchen refused decisively. The gift was indeed too generous.
The Flying Nimbus was one thing, but because of it, Goku had the opportunity to further comprehend the changes of the sea. This was the greatest opportunity.
This made Master Roshi pause for a moment, but he then understood, thinking about how they could ride the Flying Nimbus.
He then thought for a moment and realized he couldn't think of a suitable gift anyway. He used Wuchen's words as an excuse to drop the matter. After bidding farewell, he glanced at Goku, who was meditating on the Flying Nimbus, and then left riding on a Sea Turtle.
Bulma, however, was both angry and regretful. Yes, she had an opportunity for a gift, but she had paid such a heavy price for the Dragon Ball... What a loss.
By evening, Goku slowly opened his eyes, an undisguised joy appearing on his face.
"Don't be arrogant, don't be impatient. Next, you need to imbue the Soul Core. Unlike last time, this time the primal soul already possesses fire attributes, which are in a mutually generating and restraining relationship with the water you've now comprehended. You need to grasp this balance carefully!" Wuchen immediately said, his words like a sharp reprimand.
"I understand, Big Brother," Goku quickly replied, suppressing his overwhelming joy.
"You've done very well. However, the path of cultivation is fraught with dangers. You must be cautious and not be careless in the slightest," Wuchen said. Having nearly gone mad during his early cultivation in his previous life, he didn't want Goku to be too arrogant, but he also didn't want to discourage him too much.
"I understand, Big Brother," Goku smiled, also taking Wuchen's words to heart.
"What are you two brothers whispering about now? It's making me so angry! When you get something good, you just play by yourselves and leave the matter of finding the Dragon Balls entirely to me, a weak girl."
She pointed to the Three-Star Ball she had "exchanged" from Master Roshi, and then to the Flying Nimbus under Goku's feet. Bulma was almost exploding with anger.
The two brothers exchanged a look and gave awkward smiles, which diffused Bulma's temper. She shouldn't have come out to look for the Dragon Balls.
Leaving the beach, the group found a high ground to rest.
The next morning, the two brothers practiced their staffs as usual until Bulma woke up and they began their journey.
Seven days later, the three arrived outside a village, and the radar indicated the presence of a Dragon Ball within.
"Why is no one here? It doesn't look like an abandoned village either," the three swaggered into the village, but they didn't see a single person. All the houses had their doors tightly shut. It was as quiet as midnight in broad daylight.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Is anyone home?" Bulma tried knocking on a door but received no response.
Wuchen, however, frowned. He could sense that there were people inside. Although their auras were weak, even weaker than Bulma's, there were indeed people.
"We are travelers passing through. We are not thieves. We are passing through your esteemed location and would like to ask for a bowl of water. We hope you can accommodate us."
Perhaps it was Wuchen's youthful voice, but a door creaked open, and a middle-aged head peeked out. After scanning the surroundings, a middle-aged man slowly emerged, tightly gripping an iron axe.
"It's not Oolong. Everyone come out," the man shouted, without immediately responding to the three.
Immediately, doors opened one after another in the houses, and people of all ages, men and women, came out and surrounded the three.
"Young people, you are from out of town, aren't you? Hurry up and leave this place to save your lives," an old woman broke the silence first.
"Elder, may I ask if you have encountered thieves?" Wuchen asked his guess. From the current situation, it did look like a scene where people were closing their doors before a bandit raid.
"Thieves? No, it's a monster far more terrifying than thieves!"
"It's Oolong, the Oolong who specifically kidnaps girls!"
"A month ago..." Wuchen's words stirred up indignation and fear among the villagers. They spoke in a rush, explaining the situation.
It turned out that a monster named Oolong was coming to the village today to abduct women!
"A monster that kidnaps girls!" Bulma was also furious. "Goku, Wuchen, please help everyone defeat that guy named Oolong!" Having witnessed the brothers' strength along the way, she immediately volunteered them.
The two brothers had no objections. Wuchen was curious about this so-called monster. Goku was also curious, wondering if this Oolong could be eaten and if it tasted good.
The villagers, however, did not agree. They urged the three to run away quickly. It was only when Goku displayed some of his strength that they began to hope and place their trust in the three.
Subsequently, Wuchen asked everyone to return to their homes to hide, while he and Goku lay in ambush, waiting for the monster Oolong!
