After all, Wukong was the protagonist of the Dragon Ball world. If he were to alter the plot and cause Wukong's life trajectory to shift—resulting in him being unable to defeat future powerful enemies or preventing key events from occurring—then his three major plans of lying flat, farming achievements, and grinding check-ins would all go down the drain.

Just the thought of Wukong being unable to defeat Demon King Piccolo, the Androids, Vegeta, Frieza, Yeru, or Majin Buu, forcing him to step up and save all of humanity—in a world full of damn Japs, no less—made him feel exhausted just thinking about it.
