Talk about perfect timing. Li Shu thanked his lucky stars. If he had to learn from scratch, he probably wouldn't have learned Japanese in his lifetime. He couldn't die, after all, so he'd never get the chance.

However, the voice in his mind didn't stop.

"Achievement unlocked: 'I Nearly Starved Myself to Death.' You, with your Undying Body, nearly starved to death. You're the first person in all of history to do that. Congratulations, you've earned [Ki Sense]. Achievement points +1."

Huh?

Li Shu was overjoyed. Sure enough, just as I expected. It had all gone according to plan. That's right, I'd deliberately tried to starve myself to death, risking my life to test how this system worked.

"Young man, what are you doing here all by yourself?" Son Gohan asked.

How was he supposed to explain this? Li Shu was a little dazed as his mind raced. "I got lost."

Son Gohan smiled. "It's dangerous to be alone in the mountains. Why don't you stay at my house for a while? Do you have a way to contact your family?"

"No. I'm an orphan." Li Shu shook his head.

"Poor child." Son Gohan glanced instinctively at Wukong, who was curiously looking Li Shu over.

Like Li Shu, Son Goku was an orphan. He was a poor child Son Gohan had found in the mountains and taken in.

"Is this Mount Nashi?" On the way home, Li Shu decided he had to make sure.

"It's Mount Paozu. Mount Paozu. It's a shame it isn't edible," Wukong answered quickly.

Wukong looked at Li Shu's butt and asked curiously, "Why don't you have a tail either?"

Looking at the innocent Wukong, Li Shu recalled a scene from the story. On a full-moon night, Wukong had transformed into a Great Ape and crushed to death his grandfather, Son Gohan, who had raised him for years.

This was an ability all Saiyans were born with. As long as they saw the full moon, they would transform into Great Apes, becoming ferocious beyond measure. Young Wukong hadn't been able to control this power, so he had lost his reason.

But if their tails were cut off, the transformation would end. A Saiyan without a tail could no longer transform into a Great Ape.

Li Shu wanted to prevent that tragedy, so he said, "I cut my tail off."

"Huh? Why?" Wukong's eyes widened.

Son Gohan looked at Li Shu in surprise. Was this young man, like Wukong, born with a tail?

Li Shu explained, "Because it's our weakness."

As he spoke, Li Shu grabbed Wukong's tail. Wukong's pupils shrank at once, and his whole body went limp. He felt powerless all over and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Son Gohan watched in shock, hardly able to believe his eyes.

"See? I was right." Li Shu let go. Wukong's strength returned, and he sprang to his feet in surprise, turning to look at the tail swishing nimbly behind him.

He seemed to consider this for a moment, then took off his pants and said something shocking. "Then do you have a little willy? Does that need to be cut off too?"

"..." Li Shu's mouth hung open as he stared at Wukong's little thing, speechless.

Wukong gave it a squeeze, but didn't feel weak all over. Innocently, he said, "Big brother, you try squeezing it."

"Okay!" A mischievous impulse surged through Li Shu. He flicked it with his finger and said, "You have to flick it. Strictly speaking, it is one of our weaknesses, but it's something we can live with."

Wukong scratched his head, not understanding what he meant, then put his pants back on.

Son Gohan watched with a chuckle. "Young man, I still don't know your name. Are you from the same place as Wukong?"

"My name is Li Shu. I don't know if I'm from the same place as Wukong, but I am the same kind of person as him."

Li Shu was about to obtain the [Saiyan Bloodline], so it wasn't wrong to say he was the same kind of person as Wukong. It would also make for a good explanation later.

Before long, Li Shu arrived at Wukong's house, and the system's voice rang out.

"Sign-in successful at 'Son Goku's Residence.' Reward: [Saiyan Bloodline]."

"Next sign-in location: Unknown. Stay tuned."

A faint smile appeared on Li Shu's face. With the [Undying Body] and the [Saiyan Bloodline], he could basically be invincible in the Dragon Ball world. As for the next sign-in reward, whatever. Come if you want; don't if you don't.

"Wow, big brother, your tail grew back!"

Just then, Wukong stared in amazement at Li Shu's butt.

Li Shu felt something strange too. He looked behind him and saw his tail swishing nimbly, as easy to control as his own arm. It was as if he'd always had one.

"I forgot to tell you. Even if we cut off our tails, they'll somehow grow back."

Watching this, Son Gohan no longer had any doubts about Li Shu.

"Should we cut it off, then?" Wukong asked.

Cut it off? Wouldn't that hurt like hell?

More importantly, he had the [Undying Body]. If his tail grew back as soon as it was cut off, how would he explain that?

"That'd be too much trouble. It'll just grow back after we cut it off. There are other ways to overcome this weakness." Li Shu shook his head quickly. There was nothing wrong with having double standards.

"What way?"

"Train your tail."

"But on the night of every full moon, we'd better not look at the moon. Otherwise, we'll undergo a terrifying transformation."

"Wow, Grandpa told me the same thing." Wukong nodded, wide-eyed.

Son Gohan looked at Li Shu in surprise, wanting to say something but holding back.

The last time Wukong had seen the full moon and transformed into a Great Ape, Son Gohan had been terrified. He had almost died.

He decided to wait until Wukong was asleep that night, then have a long talk with Li Shu. This young man clearly knew a lot.

For the rest of the day, Li Shu watched from the side as Son Gohan taught Wukong how to train.

At first, Li Shu had wanted to train with them, but after seeing how brutal the training was, he gave up at once.

"I'll wait until I get [Pain Immunity] before I train." Li Shu basked in the sun, bored out of his mind.

Night fell before long. After the three of them finished dinner, Wukong went to bed early.

Son Gohan came to Li Shu's room.

Li Shu seemed to have been waiting for him. Son Gohan asked, "What are you planning to do next?"

"Nothing. I hope you'll let me stay, Grandpa." Li Shu had already prepared his explanation. He spoke sincerely. "I'm an orphan with no one to rely on, and I've lost my job. I came to the mountains to clear my head, but then I got lost. You know what happened after that. I nearly starved to death."

"I want to stay and repay you for saving my life."

Son Gohan was silent for a moment. Looking at Li Shu's tail, he said, "Have you transformed into a Great Ape before? After Wukong transformed, he lost his reason and couldn't remember anything. I haven't told him, either. That's why I've never taken him out."

"But you're different from Wukong. You remember everything that happens after you transform into a Great Ape."

Li Shu didn't hesitate. "I have a way to control the rampaging power Wukong unleashes when he transforms."
