"He's down! Great Ape Li Shu is down! Is this the deciding moment?!" the announcer roared with excitement.
Everyone watched the scene with bated breath.
I'm truly done for! Li Shu panicked slightly. He had thought victory was certain, only to face a total collapse at the very last second.
With such a massive frame, falling meant landing outside the ring; trying to use his hands for support would also result in touching the ground outside. Li Shu was momentarily out of options, his eyes filled with regret as he gazed at the full moon in the sky.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck, and his eyes lit up as he realized how to break the deadlock.
Just as everyone assumed Li Shu was about to lose, he let out a cry of agony and severed his own tail, causing his massive body to shrink rapidly.
However, thanks to his Undying Body, the severed tail reattached itself almost immediately, and his shrinking form began to swell once more.
Yet, in that brief moment of shrinkage, Li Shu had quickly braced his hands against the ground to stand up. Because his body had shrunk, his hands remained within the bounds of the ring, narrowly averting his certain defeat.
"That was close!" Great Ape Li Shu grinned, looking back at Wukong.
Great Ape Wukong's jaw dropped as he stared in shock; he had thought he'd already won, only to have his big brother turn the tables on him.
"Continue." Great Ape Li Shu launched another attack, fully prepared this time to prevent a repeat of the previous mishap.
The two great apes clashed again. This time, with Li Shu on guard and holding the advantage in both bloodline power and combat strength, Great Ape Wukong was no match in a pure test of force.
Though inferior in strength, Great Ape Wukong possessed an incredibly tenacious will. He struggled on, holding out for nearly an hour.
It wasn't until he was completely exhausted that Great Ape Wukong finally collapsed under a side kick from Great Ape Li Shu, remaining motionless for a long time.
Moments later, he shrank rapidly, and by the time he returned to his human form, he was already fast asleep.
Li Shu was also utterly spent, relying entirely on willpower to stay upright; this battle had drained every ounce of strength from his body.
The final kick had looked fierce, but it actually carried very little force. Yet, for Wukong, who was equally exhausted, it was the final straw that broke the camel's back.
In other words, had Wukong been the one to land that final blow, Li Shu would have been the one to fall.
"The winner of the tournament is—Li Shu!" the announcer roared excitedly.
Li Shu glanced at the still-passionate announcer, feeling a sense of admiration. He truly was the greatest announcer in Dragon Ball; even after all this, he remained so full of energy.
With the announcer's declaration and the chime of the system, the dust finally settled.
Li Shu finally let out the breath he had been holding, his entire body going limp as he collapsed and fell into a deep sleep.
He was simply too tired, too tired to even feel the pain.
He didn't even bother listening to the system's reward notification; he just wanted a good night's sleep.
He closed his eyes and opened them again to find a day had passed. The first thing Li Shu saw was a pair of beautiful, large eyes looking at him with pure adoration.
"Bulma?"
Li Shu was bewildered. What was with that expression? He swore he had no designs on Bulma; he respected Prince Vegeta, after all.
He was certain he would become good friends with Vegeta in the future. As the saying went, one does not covet a friend's wife; he was a transmigrator with principles.
"Li Shu! You're finally awake!" Bulma blinked her large eyes and said happily.
Li Shu remained silent. Counting this encounter, he had only met Bulma four times in total; their relationship shouldn't have reached this level.
Bulma's familiarity was a bit hard for Li Shu to handle, but he relaxed once he remembered she was a fan of handsome men—after all, he was quite dashing himself.
Combined with his "damnably charming" performance on stage, it was easy to see how he might have captured her heart.
As he pondered this, Li Shu suddenly remembered something and quickly checked himself, his mood instantly souring.
"Why am I wearing women's clothing?" Li Shu asked in a low voice.
"Oh, my," Bulma said, her cheeks flushing slightly. "You and Wukong were both naked, and I only had women's clothes here, so I had to make do."
"You put them on me?" Li Shu asked, stunned.
Bulma said sheepishly, "Yes."
"What about Master Roshi?" Li Shu fiddled with the skirt, which felt incredibly uncomfortable and drafty.
"They're eating at a restaurant." Bulma laughed, "I'm just teasing you. It was that perverted old man Master Roshi who changed your clothes. How could a girl like me do that?"
Li Shu breathed a sigh of relief. He still held traditional values; if a girl had seen his "precious treasure," how could he face anyone or find a partner in the future?
"Could you buy me a set of men's clothes?" Li Shu asked.
"I already have them ready. Go ahead and change; I'll wait outside." Bulma placed a set of men's clothes on the bedside table and turned to leave.
Watching Bulma's graceful figure, Li Shu felt a headache coming on. It was clear she was interested in him.
To be honest, Bulma was beautiful and had a great figure; she was exactly his type. Among the 5,000 terabytes of "study materials" from his past life, a full terabyte had been dedicated to Bulma.
It was hard for him to resist.
Oh, proud Prince Vegeta, I can only promise not to make the first move. Please descend quickly so we can meet in the future.
Li Shu quickly changed his clothes and headed to the restaurant with Bulma.
Along the way, Bulma kept trying to strike up a conversation. Li Shu really wanted to ask her: "You haven't broken up with Yamcha yet, have you?"
But the words died on his lips.
Soon, the two arrived at the restaurant, and as they walked in, they saw Wukong devouring a giant chicken leg.
[Combat Power: 99]
"The Saiyan Bloodline is truly formidable; a single battle has sent my combat power soaring by 15 points."
Li Shu sensed his combat power once more, only to find that it had reached 99 points, exactly the same as Wukong.
This was about 6 points higher than the increase Wukong had experienced.
This result indirectly confirmed that his hypothesis regarding the leveling up of the Saiyan Bloodline was correct.
"Big Brother, come and eat! It's all delicious!" Wukong called out hurriedly, showing no signs of ill feeling over the outcome of the final match.
Li Shu nodded with a smile. He was indeed hungry, so he joined the battle at the dining table without standing on ceremony.
Under the full-throttle output of these two gluttons, the restaurant owner and the waiters were left absolutely stunned.
That table had actually polished off every single ingredient they had prepared for the entire day!
The kicker was that these two still looked as if they hadn't had enough and were far from full.
"Come, come, Wukong, eat Big Brother's leg!" With a thwack, Li Shu pulled out a two-meter-long dinosaur leg, and the two of them each grabbed an end and began to gnaw away frantically.
