The Purple Ninja

When Li Shu reached the second floor, he found a scene of utter devastation.

A headless Android lay motionless on the ground. Faint electric currents still crackled across its body.

"What number Android is this? I don't remember seeing it at all."

The battered Android looked over two meters tall. Li Shu thought hard, but still couldn't remember it. "Must be a defective model."

Android 17 and Android 18 wouldn't appear until after the Frieza storyline, which was still a long way off. Android development was still in its early stages.

Judging by the signs of battle, though, Wukong hadn't won easily. Clearly, his lack of experience fighting an Android had caught him off guard.

From the blood on the floor, it looked like Wukong had been injured, too.

Unfortunately, the Android had been damaged too badly. Battle Eye couldn't detect its power level and display it.

"Looks like about 50 power." Li Shu clicked his tongue, unable to deny that the doctor behind the Red Ribbon Army was a true genius.

Even now, he could already make such powerful Androids. No wonder he'd be able to create Androids as powerful as 17 and 18 a few years later.

"If I recruit the doctor, maybe I'll get a hidden achievement reward?" Li Shu had a daring idea.

It would be a real shame if someone this talented died.

If the genius doctor had enough time, then perhaps one day he could create an Android on par with a God of Destruction.

If Li Shu remembered right, even a freakish species like Cell had come from the hands of this genius doctor.

It was hard to imagine that someone using nothing but technology could create such powerful beings—beings who could instantly defeat Frieza, the so-called emperor of the universe.

Even much later, the surviving Android 17 had taken part in the Tournament of Power, jointly organized by the Gods of Destruction from multiple universes. Everyone who qualified for it was among the strongest in their universe.

If the genius doctor were still alive, it was hard to imagine how far he could take Android technology.

Maybe, just like with the Saiyans, he'd eventually create a Super Android, a Super Saiyan Blue Android, an Android God, and then use AI learning to work out how to install Ultra Instinct in an Android. Jiren would be no match for him.

The more Li Shu thought about it, the more excited he got. He really wanted to see that storyline.

He was determined to get this genius doctor!

The Dragon Ball storyline had been changed. That was final!

Just as Li Shu was struggling to contain his excitement, a sudden ding rang out.

"Ding! Congratulations. You have triggered the hidden achievement quest 'Dr. Gero's Future.' Save Dr. Gero at a critical moment and help him reform. Quest reward: [Android Manual]!"

"Please note: if the hidden quest fails, the reward will disappear permanently."

Li Shu's eyes lit up.

Just as he'd thought!

Emotions were the key to triggering quests!

It wasn't just other people—even he could trigger them himself.

This was undoubtedly good news. Li Shu quickly pulled out his little notebook and wrote it down.

After making a note, Li Shu didn't hurry upstairs. His reason for training with Wukong was different; he was mainly there to complete quests.

He'd just tested it by killing a soldier, but hadn't made any progress on "Punish the Evil and Promote the Good."

In other words, pointless fighting wouldn't complete the quest.

Li Shu opened the doors on the second floor one by one, hoping to find some criminals.

Anyone who joined the Red Ribbon Army, an organization supposedly the most evil in the world, was without exception a bad person.

They'd all committed one crime or another, making this a perfect place to grind quest progress.

In Li Shu's eyes, every soldier was a quest target. He couldn't let a single one get away. He'd break all their legs and capture them alive.

He still couldn't be sure whether he could exploit the bug, but if it worked and he hadn't prepared in advance, wouldn't that be a huge loss?

It wouldn't take long to find out. All he had to do was wait for the police to arrive.

Li Shu was patient. He didn't skip a single room or any place someone could hide. He even checked the mouse holes, smashing them open with a punch to see if there were secret rooms inside.

But to his disappointment, he didn't find a single person. He had no idea if they'd already escaped.

"Doesn't matter. If they escape, they'll head upstairs. I'll block them from below. Not one of them will get away."

Even a plane wouldn't help. With his current flying speed and his ability to soar through the air with Dinosaur Leg, he'd have complete control of any aerial chase.

Anyone who tried to escape in an aircraft would just become a sitting duck.

When he reached the third floor, the sight before him took Li Shu by surprise.

"A forest? There's even an artificial lake."

Li Shu had his eyes opened. The third floor had been turned into an ecosystem resembling a primeval forest.

There was also a cabin beside the artificial lake, but he couldn't see Wukong or his opponent.

Li Shu sensed the area briefly. In one part of the third floor, he picked up Wukong's ki and another, unfamiliar ki.

Judging by its strength, the unfamiliar ki wasn't particularly powerful. In terms of power level, it was probably around 50.

Both of them were heading straight for where Li Shu was standing, so he couldn't be bothered to go looking for Wukong. He'd wait right there.

Li Shu glanced at the cabin and couldn't resist. How could he not go in and loot the place?

As soon as he entered, he saw a stack of adult magazines spread across the wooden bed.

Emmm...

Li Shu picked one up and started leafing through it without a change in expression. "Master Roshi must like these. I'm just holding on to them for him. But I'd better check them first. Master Roshi has high standards, after all. This one won't do; the girls are too small. Master Roshi likes them big."

Just then, Wukong and the unfamiliar ki appeared outside the door.

"What are you doing? Put them down! Put them down right now! Those are my collection. I've been saving them for years, and you can't buy them anywhere!"

At the same time, an angry voice suddenly rang out behind him.

"Big brother, do you like looking at these too, just like Grandpa Master Roshi?" Wukong's voice followed.

[Thick Skin-Lv1] triggered passively!

Li Shu stopped what he was doing and turned around without so much as blushing. With a perfectly serious expression, he said, "Wukong, you know Master Roshi likes looking at these. But what you don't know is that he has really high standards. Your big brother is checking the quality, not looking at them. I'm going to bring them back for him as a gift.

"Your big brother here is a man of learning."

Spring and Autumn?

Wukong clearly didn't understand what he meant.

"Damn it! Damn it! You've seen my collection! I was going to play around with you, but now I'm going to get serious! Anyone who's seen my collection has to die!"

The Purple Ninja was furious. He grabbed the hilt of the sword strapped to his back with his left hand and formed a hand seal in front of him with his right, his face filled with murderous intent.

"Now I'll show you the power of an elite ninja!"

Li Shu raised an eyebrow.
