It had been nearly two months since William arrived in the Marvel world. During this time, he had unlocked two heroes, Soldier: 76 and Hanzo, and his transformation time had reached five minutes.

Last night, he entered the Virtual Training Grounds to practice archery for Hanzo, but it turned out to be much harder than he had imagined.

It wasn't like in a game where you could just flick a mouse to fire an arrow; archery in the real world was nowhere near that simple. You didn't just need a firm grip on the bow and the right angle; you needed predictive ability.

Especially when facing fast-moving enemies, every shot could easily miss. He struggled all night before finally getting the hang of it, and by the time he emerged from the Virtual Training Grounds, it was already three in the morning.

So much for getting to sleep early, heh.

His public identity was a pizza delivery guy, but his real identity was an agent—no, a consultant—for S.H.I.E.L.D. Even though it was a cover, he still had to show up for work, even if he was a bit late.

William arrived at the restaurant with dark circles under his eyes and was chewed out by his boss, Jonathan, for being late.

He couldn't be bothered to talk back, though. He had already applied for a salary advance from S.H.I.E.L.D., and he no longer cared about his delivery wages, so he didn't fear his black-hearted boss withholding his pay.

There were very few deliveries today, and just as he was about to slack off and take a nap, he saw Coulson in the restaurant again.

"Eh? Didn't you sleep well last night?" William asked, noticing the dark circles under Coulson's eyes, which looked even worse than his own.

"It's nothing. I'm just picky about my bed. I have trouble sleeping when I'm in a different one," Coulson said listlessly, taking a sip of coffee.

It was all because he had been monitoring William. After reporting to Director Fury yesterday, Nick Fury ordered him to keep watching. Coulson had no choice but to sit on the sofa and wait silently, staring at the surveillance screen that never changed.

After a while, Coulson felt sleepy and nearly dozed off. He had no choice but to keep drinking coffee until three in the morning, when William finally reappeared.

Coulson hurriedly reported to Director Fury, not expecting that the man had already gone to sleep. Once Nick Fury learned the situation, he felt something was off, told Coulson to keep monitoring William, and hung up.

Having stayed up so late, Coulson was desperate for sleep, but once he lay down, he realized he'd had too much coffee and couldn't sleep at all.

Of course, William didn't know yet that he was being monitored.

"Tonight, the Disney Concert Hall will host a grand gala," Boss Jonathan said, turning on the television, which was playing a news report.

"The 3rd Soldier Family Support Fund Gala will be held here. Our protagonist, Tony Stark, has not been seen since that special press conference, and he likely won't appear tonight..."

William smiled; he knew Tony would definitely show up tonight.

Just then, Coulson received a call. He spoke a few words, hung up, and stood up to leave.

"Why are you leaving?" William walked over and asked.

"New mission." Coulson finished the coffee in his cup and said, "You'd better behave while I'm gone."

"Oh?" William smiled and said, "You're going to find Tony Stark, aren't you? I hear that guy is very arrogant. Do you need my help?"

Night gradually shrouded the Disney Concert Hall. A bright red carpet was laid out before the entrance, and the area was bustling with industry elites and celebrities.

Not far away, a silver Audi R8 sped toward the entrance, and a man in a tailored suit stepped out.

"Tony Stark!" someone with sharp eyes shouted, recognizing him.

Tony's arrival immediately caused a sensation. Whether they knew him or not, people rushed over to curry favor with him.

Obadiah Stane, who was in the middle of an interview, didn't expect this persistent guy to show up again. Tony exchanged a few casual words with him before striding into the venue.

"Get me a whiskey. I'm dying of thirst."

"Mr. Stark."

Just as Tony ordered a drink, Coulson appeared behind him, looking as if he had been waiting for a long time. "I'm Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Oh, it's you. S.H.I.E.L.D.? Did you guys change your name?" Tony asked, picking up his whiskey.

"I know you might be reluctant, but we need to find time to talk," Coulson said, keeping his tone as polite as possible. "We have some things to tell you. Time is of the essence; it would be best to schedule a meeting."

But Tony wasn't listening at all. His attention was fixed on someone else: Pepper, appearing in the crowd in a sexy blue backless dress, her long blonde hair and radiant smile looking absolutely enchanting.

"I think you're absolutely right," Tony said distractedly. "I'll go ask my assistant to schedule a time."

Coulson reached out to shake hands, but Tony ignored him and turned to walk toward Pepper. This left Coulson's hand hanging in mid-air, creating an incredibly awkward atmosphere.

"You're doing it wrong," a voice came from beside him. He turned to see William.

William was also wearing a suit, but it was clearly the wrong size and fit him a bit tightly.

There was no helping it; he had borrowed the suit from another agent. Originally, he wasn't supposed to be part of tonight's operation, but who would have thought he would volunteer to help? Still, it was fine; he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. consultant, after all, and it would be a waste of his salary to just sit around idle.

"Tony Stark isn't an ordinary person," Coulson said helplessly. "We really can't do anything with him."

"Isn't he just rich?" William curled his lip. "That tycoon in the black cat suit is much richer than him!"

"Black cat suit?" Coulson didn't understand what William meant.

"Forget it, just watch me," William said with a smile, then stood up and walked forward.

Coulson was stunned for a moment. Could this guy actually have a good plan?

William didn't run over to disturb Tony and Pepper Potts, who were dancing, but instead walked toward another lady. She was also a blonde beauty, though her hair was tied up.

If he remembered correctly, this beauty had once had a fling with Tony.

"Hello, I'm William Lister from S.H.I.E.L.D. There is a matter I hope you can assist us with."

A while later, Tony returned to the bar with a look of disbelief on his face, as he realized he might have fallen for his own secretary.

Pepper Potts was his personal secretary, beautiful and highly capable. Yet, Tony was never short of beauties; countless women would throw themselves at him with just a wave of his hand.

It wasn't until tonight that he noticed Pepper's beauty. Having been by his side for so long, perhaps she had left a mark on his heart long ago.

"Isn't this the famous playboy?"

Just as Tony was lost in his thoughts, a voice came from behind him, sounding somewhat mocking, though it was hard to tell if it was intentional or feigned.

"Oh, hey. Who are you?" Tony turned around to find a young blonde man in a suit. "Do we know each other?"

"No," the young man replied. "I am William Lister of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"S.H.I.E.L.D. again," Tony frowned and said, "What exactly do you people want from me?"

"Have you heard of," William said, shoving some photos into his hand, "a town called Gulmira?"

Tony looked at the photos with a strange expression. They captured grim scenes: war-torn villages, dead children, and various types of weaponry. On these weapons, he saw a familiar logo—

Stark Industries!

"When were these photos taken?" Tony asked, sounding somewhat indignant.

"Just yesterday," William said with a serious expression. "Can you explain why we are still finding these weapons when you have already shut down your weapons manufacturing division?"

Tony's face changed instantly. Just as he turned to leave, William patted him on the shoulder and said, "It's going to be cold up there, try not to catch a cold!"
