"Agent, we've run into trouble. Requesting immediate support!" Coulson sat in his car, the video feed on the dashboard console dim, revealing only the faint silhouette of a man.
He had intended to take Pepper to safety, but he hadn't expected Tony to insist she overload the Arc Reactor to blow the roof. He couldn't stop him, so he had no choice but to call S.H.I.E.L.D. for backup.
"I'm aware." The dim video gradually brightened, revealing the face of a one-eyed Black man. "Stark Industries is making enough noise to hit the news cycle."
Indeed, the mysterious figure Coulson always video-called was none other than Director Fury, though his dark complexion made his face nearly impossible to see in poor lighting.
"I'll seal off this area as quickly as possible to keep the news from leaking!" Coulson replied.
"By the way, where is William?" Nick Fury suddenly remembered that annoying guy.
Coulson scratched his head and said, "He went to help Stark. He's fighting Obadiah!"
"In that 'Future Soldier' form?"
"No, I think we underestimated him. He actually turned into an archer today!"
Nick Fury's single eye widened in shock. "Are you kidding me? An archer?"
Hanzo transformation time remaining: 0:30
William scrambled up from the ground, feeling as though every bone in his body were about to snap. Athena's voice echoed in his ears; the transformation was ending, yet Obadiah remained undefeated.
Hanzo's physical prowess was inferior to Soldier: 76's, and being caught in the crossfire had nearly cost him his life. It seemed this hero couldn't be deployed recklessly.
Not far away, Obadiah was strafing Iron Man with his gatling gun. Tony hurriedly raised his arms to defend himself, but the bullets shattered the glass beneath his feet. Tony nearly plummeted, clinging desperately to the railing.
Just as Obadiah prepared to deliver the killing blow, William stepped forward and loosed an arrow at Iron Monger's steel helmet. The shot ricocheted off, but it successfully drew Obadiah's attention.
"You annoying pest! You're asking for death!" Enraged, Obadiah shifted his focus from Tony to fire his gatling gun at William.
William's expression shifted instantly; he dove to dodge as bullets tore holes into the ground, narrowly missing him!
Pepper was ready to overload the Arc Reactor, waiting only for Tony's command. But she knew that once the roof blew, Tony would likely be killed in the blast, and she couldn't bring herself to press the button.
"Pepper! Do it now!" Tony roared, watching as the man was about to be gunned down by Obadiah.
Pepper slammed the activation button and scrambled toward the exit. The overloaded Arc Reactor erupted in a dazzling blue light, followed by blinding arcs of electricity.
A thick pillar of blue light, wreathed in electric discharge, shot skyward, piercing the roof of Stark Industries and vanishing into the heavens. It made the clouds rumble as if a massive thunderstorm had been unleashed.
Tony was blasted away by the force, crashing to the ground, seemingly unconscious. William had known the roof would explode, so the moment the reactor overloaded, he had jumped down and clung to the wall, narrowly escaping disaster.
Hanzo transformation time remaining: 0:10
In the original film, Obadiah was supposed to be struck by the arc and fall into the reactor, but William hadn't anticipated that Iron Monger would use his thrusters to hover in mid-air, allowing him to survive the roof's collapse.
William vaulted over the wall, landing on the ground, and fired a Scatter Arrow at Iron Monger. This time, Iron Monger didn't fall for it; knowing the arrow would split, he dodged the shot from a distance.
"It's over. Tony is dead." Obadiah said coldly. "Who exactly are you? Tony's bodyguard? Or a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent?"
William raised his longbow once more, and as he did, the massive dragon tattoo on his body began to glow.
"Old fox, do you think you've won?" The dragon tattoo on William's body shone brighter. "All of this was merely part of my plan. You fell into my trap from the very beginning. You should know that big targets like you are the easiest way for Hanzo to build up energy!"
Obadiah frowned. What the hell was this guy talking about? Hanzo? Building energy?
Within William's field of vision, a gray icon flickered at 99%—the ultimate ability icon of the Overwatch System, Hanzo's ultimate.
That's right. From the start, he had been formulating a way to deal with Obadiah.
Soldier: 76's pulse rounds couldn't pierce Iron Monger's armor, and Hanzo's standard arrows couldn't deal enough damage. But Hanzo's ultimate was different; it was an ability capable of summoning a terrifying entity.
Wind! Sound! Scatter!
He had been building ultimate energy since the fight began. Whether he hit his mark or not, he never stopped firing.
Hitting an enemy's arm, leg, or chest granted him energy, and landing hits with abilities generated that energy even faster.
Iron Monger was hulking and powerful, capable of crushing an uncharged Iron Man in every respect, but no one expected a Hanzo to jump into the fray.
His massive size was both his strength and his weakness. Facing Hanzo, his bulk was his greatest liability; no matter where he was hit, he served as a mobile charging station for Hanzo!
William fired two more arrows at Iron Monger, one of which struck its shoulder. At that moment, the previously gray ultimate icon finally lit up.
99%... 100%!
"Ryūjin no ken wo kurae!"
The dragon tattoo on William's body seemed to come to life, erupting in blue light. It felt as though a storm and lightning were contained within it, and the arrow on his bowstring was enveloped by this violent power.
Dragon: Devour your enemies. Summon the spirit of the dragon through the Storm Bow. The dragon spirit pierces all targets, dealing massive damage to enemies in a straight line.
Note: The dragon remains in arrow form within ten meters; if interrupted during this time, the dragon spirit cannot be summoned.
With one second left before the Hanzo transformation ended, William finally loosed the arrow. It looked like an ordinary shot, but it was wreathed in blue light.
Obadiah's expression changed instantly. His intuition told him this arrow was different from the others. He activated every weapon system he had, aiming only to destroy the projectile.
But he was a step too late. The ten-meter distance was crossed in an instant, and in a heartbeat, the arrow transformed into a vortex of lightning and storm.
Antlers, ox head, rabbit eyes, snake body, fish scales... Obadiah couldn't believe his eyes. This was a myth that couldn't possibly exist in reality—a dragon!
"ROAR—"
Accompanied by an earth-shattering dragon's cry, two massive dragon spirits roared out from the vortex of lightning and storm. They opened their maws, unleashing a gale and ravaging lightning, their terrifying presence threatening to destroy everything in their path.
Obadiah had no chance to dodge, for the moment he saw the dragon spirits, they had already swallowed him whole, the lightning and gale instantly consuming his body!
The destroyed Iron Monger lost power in mid-air, plummeting along with its pilot into the overloaded Arc Reactor.
With a thunderous boom, the Arc Reactor detonated, shaking the entirety of Stark Industries as the fierce battle between Iron Man and the Iron Monger finally drew to a close.
"William, you have successfully completed the main quest: The Rise of Iron Man. Congratulations on receiving the experience reward; your level has increased to 4. Rewards obtained: Loot Box x1, Gold x800."
The very second William unleashed his ultimate, his transformation duration ended. He reverted to an ordinary human, sitting on the devastated rooftop. Tony lay beside him, the Arc Reactor in his chest emitting a faint, flickering glow.
This battle had been incredibly grueling. Even with his meticulous planning, facing the terrifying Iron Monger had left him feeling out of his depth. Still, the fight was finally over, and the main quest had been completed successfully.
However, William knew he couldn't celebrate too early, for once the Iron Man 1 storyline concluded, an even more difficult battle was about to begin!
