"Who are you? Have we met?" Tony asked cautiously.
William smiled and said, "Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is that I'm here to help you defeat Obadiah Stane."
"You know about Obadiah?" Tony's brow furrowed. "Who exactly sent you?"
William looked at Tony's battered armor and remarked, "It seems the Iron Monger isn't easy to deal with."
"Iron Monger? What an ugly name." Tony's tone turned serious. "Listen, pal, I don't know who you are, but get out of here. It's dangerous!"
"I have a way to help you beat Obadiah, but I need your cooperation." William ignored Tony's warning.
"Cooperate with you?" Tony didn't think this guy in the strange costume had the ability to defeat Obadiah. "How?"
William smiled mysteriously. "Just try to stall for time. As long as you hold out, I can take Obadiah down in a second!"
Before Tony could ask for clarification, a massive roar erupted from the sky—the sound of the Iron Monger landing.
He descended like a cannonball. Iron Man scrambled to dodge as the rooftop was smashed into a giant crater. When Tony turned around, he found the strange guy had already vanished.
"The icing problem—not a bad trick!" Obadiah said coldly, throwing a punch at him.
Iron Man dodged and raised his left hand to fire a repulsor blast, but to his surprise, his hand was exposed.
"Hey, where's my gauntlet?!"
The next moment, Iron Man was sent flying by a heavy blow.
Not far away, William was hiding in the shadows. He watched as the Iron Monger beat Iron Man to a pulp, his heart completely unmoved—he even felt a little like laughing.
However, he couldn't let Iron Man die, so he pulled out an arrow and began firing at the Iron Monger.
Now that he was only fifty meters away, his accuracy improved significantly. Five out of ten arrows struck the Iron Monger, greatly disrupting Obadiah's combat rhythm and giving Tony a chance to counterattack.
"Who's ambushing me?" Obadiah roared in anger. He looked at the arrows scattered around, wishing he could grab the attacker and tear them in two. He scanned the surroundings, but the rooftop was empty save for him and Tony.
He couldn't have guessed that while William was firing, he was also leaping off the roof to hide on the wall using his climbing skills, making it impossible for Obadiah to spot him. In this way, William kept harassing him, allowing Iron Man to keep fighting back.
"The Dragon has marked you."
Sonic Arrow: Fires a projectile equipped with a sonar tracking device via the Storm Bow. Any enemy within the detection radius will be marked and tracked. If the arrow hits an obstacle or shield, the detection field penetrates the obstruction without interference.
Note: If the arrow hits an enemy character, it will follow the hero until it disappears, and the detection radius will move along with them.
The arrow in William's hand transformed into a Sonic Arrow, whistling through the air and striking the Iron Monger in the back.
Unlike a regular arrow, this one had an adhesive tip that stuck directly to the Iron Monger's armor. Because it made almost no sound, Obadiah didn't notice a thing.
The intense battle had damaged many of Iron Man's systems, including his sensors. Tony hid behind cover, but even through the obstacle, he could see the Iron Monger's silhouette rendered as a red shadow.
Seeing the arrows scattered on the ground, Tony thought of the strangely dressed man from earlier. His weapon seemed to be a bow. He had assumed the guy had run off, but he hadn't expected him to be helping from the shadows all along!
"Pepper, are you still there?" Tony whispered to Pepper. "I need you to do me a favor."
"Coulson has already gone to call for backup. What do you need me to do?"
"Overload the Arc Reactor and blow the roof. It's the only way we can defeat Obadiah!"
After saying this, Tony charged out from behind cover and punched the Iron Monger in the face. He had to buy time for Pepper and hold Obadiah off as long as possible!
The Iron Monger took the hit, then extended his arms, locking Iron Man in a crushing bear hug.
"You can't escape now!" Obadiah said coldly. As the Iron Monger squeezed, the sound of metal groaning and deforming filled the air. It looked like Tony was about to be crushed to death.
At this critical moment, William descended from above. He leaped in front of the Iron Monger and drew his bow, firing an arrow!
"So you're the one ambushing me!" The Iron Monger released Tony immediately. The arrow was already flying toward him, but instead of dodging, he reached out to grab it—only for the arrow to split apart in an instant.
Scatter Arrow: Fires an arrow via the Storm Bow that explodes into multiple fragments. The fragments attack multiple targets simultaneously and will ricochet if they hit walls or objects.
Note: Each fragment can ricochet up to three times.
Countless fragments sprayed outward. Obadiah looked surprised—he hadn't expected such a move. He quickly raised his arms to shield his face as several fragments struck his steel armor, ricocheting and flying wildly through the air!
"Simple geometry."
Hanzo's Scatter Arrow skill was truly a matter of luck, because once the arrow was fired, there was no way to know exactly where it would go.
One fragment ricocheted twice before piercing the Iron Monger's neck. It passed through the gap between the head and the collar, flew inside the steel armor, and severed a cable.
Heh, what a curious twist of fate. This was a vital cable for the Iron Monger's visual system. As it snapped, Obadiah's vision went pitch black.
"Damn you!" The Iron Monger opened his armor, exposing Obadiah's head. Without a moment's hesitation, William fired another arrow. If it hit, he might just kill him and win the battle.
However, even though William was aiming straight for Obadiah's head, the arrow grazed past him and missed entirely.
Emmm... what a terrible twist of fate!
"Die!" The enraged Iron Monger swung his fist at William. William had no chance to dodge and looked to be on the verge of being struck.
Just then, Iron Man rushed over and shoved William aside. The Iron Monger's heavy fist slammed into Iron Man instead, sending him flying until he crashed into the glass of the rooftop.
"I'll deal with you later!"
Obadiah said coldly to William. William had been caught in the shockwave; though not hit directly, the immense force sent him flying a meter away, where he lay on the ground, gasping for air. The Iron Monger stepped past him, walking toward Tony step by step.
"I served you for over thirty years and got nothing in return," Obadiah said, looking down at Tony coldly. "Now, no one can stop me. Tony, you're a genius. Your father would be proud of you!"
Tony removed his shattered faceplate and struggled to climb to his feet.
"So now, you can go to hell and join your father!" Obadiah sneered and raised his arm. The Gatling gun began to spin rapidly, and death's bullets whistled toward Tony!
