A deafening crash rang out as the destroyed military helicopter plummeted from the sky. It slammed into the ground and exploded in an instant.
The helicopter had landed right in front of Hulk and Betty. The terrifying blast shattered Winston's barrier, and a torrent of flames swallowed them whole!

General Ross cried out at the sight of the blazing inferno. Thick smoke billowed into the sky. Just then, rain began to fall, pouring down from above and greatly weakening the flames.
As Ross was overcome with grief, a towering figure emerged from the burning sea of fire. Betty was covered in soot and lay limp in Hulk's arms, apparently unconscious.
Ross stared blankly at the fierce-looking Hulk. It wasn't until the Green Giant carried his daughter away that Ross came to his senses and immediately ordered the soldiers to track them down.
When the soldiers set out, Ross realized someone was missing. Where was William? Where was that gorilla in glasses? How had he vanished along with the explosion?
Thunder rumbled as rain poured down. Hulk fled with the unconscious Betty in his arms until he reached a cave. He had just set his girlfriend down when Betty opened her eyes.

Betty cried out in fright. The Green Giant looked completely innocent. The cave wasn't very big; Hulk had to duck just to stand inside.
He kept backing away, like a child who'd done something wrong, then accidentally bumped his head.
"Bruce, can you understand me?" Betty asked tentatively.
A sudden clap of thunder boomed overhead, startling Hulk. He picked up a boulder, hurled it at the sky, and roared angrily.
