William lay on his bed, fresh from a shower, his hair still damp.
The Hulk mission had been a huge success. He had taken down the terrifying Abomination and fought alongside the Hulk. After the battle, he'd thought someone from S.H.I.E.L.D. would come pick him up, but no one showed.
Luckily, he still had the car he'd borrowed from Coulson. He drove all the way home, and by the time he arrived, it was nearly midnight. After taking a shower, he crawled into his warm bed.
He hadn't expected the Hulk mission to be so difficult. First, he'd had to fight the Avengers' strongest member, the Hulk, and then face General Ross and his army.
The final boss, Abomination, had been mutated and enhanced to an unimaginable degree. Without Nano Boost, he and the Hulk might have been defeated.
In any case, William had helped the Hulk defeat Abomination and had made initial contact with both Bruce and the Hulk. That meant he was well prepared for the day the Hulk eventually joined the Avengers.
Whatever happened after that was up to fate. It wasn't as if William could force Bruce to join the Avengers with a Tesla Cannon.
