Fall of Asgard

The fire giant Surtur originated from the fire giant Surtr of Norse mythology. He was the enemy of Asgard's gods, and when Ragnarok came, he would cross the Bifrost and attack Asgard.

In the Marvel universe, he was the king of Muspelheim, the Realm of Fire. Surtur was an ancient demon who had already existed during the reign of Odin's father—Thor's grandfather.

He possessed wicked intelligence and tremendous power, able to manipulate cosmic energy to generate intense heat, flames, and shockwaves. Legend said that his flaming sword could easily destroy an entire planet.

When Odin had campaigned against Muspelheim in the past, Surtur had been defeated. His Eternal Flame had also been taken by Odin and placed in Odin's Vault.

Hearing Surtur's words, Thor could not help thinking of his previous nightmare. Lately, he had kept having the same nightmare: Asgard surrounded by raging flames, while a giant engulfed in fire swung a massive sword and destroyed everything before him.

"William, how about we just forget it?" Thor looked at William. "Since Ragnarok hasn't happened yet, we shouldn't get involved."

Just then, Hela and the others walked over. After the ground had shattered earlier, they had landed quite a distance away from William and Thor.

"Odin's daughter, Hela..." When Surtur saw the Goddess of Death, his expression immediately changed. "Why did Odin release you?"

"The Serpent has returned. Didn't you know?" Hela asked coldly.

"No wonder." Surtur said in a deep voice, "The God of Fear has returned. The prophecy of the apocalypse has begun, and none of you can stop it!"
