Odin's Death (Please Vote Monthly)

"Odin has awakened!"

Not long after the Serpent's revival, Odin had entered Odinsleep. This had given the God of Fear an opportunity to attack Asgard. Now that the Serpent had been destroyed and Thor faced the threat of death, Odin had finally awakened from his slumber.

"Odin, Thor defeated the Serpent." Frigga stepped forward, took his hand, and said, "The World Tree's prophecy has been proven true."

"I know." Odin looked at Thor, who was growing increasingly aged, his voice low.

"My time is running out."

"Father." Loki looked at Odin.

Hela's gaze at Odin was equally complicated.

"Loki." Odin looked at Loki and said, "I still remember my battle with Laufey. You were lying amid the ruins. I could have killed you, but I didn't."

"I raised you as my own son. Though you made many mistakes, you have grown up. I have seen what you have done, and I am proud of you!"

Loki froze. This was the first time he had ever heard Odin praise him so highly—perhaps it would also be the last.

"Hela." Odin continued, "I am sorry for imprisoning you for so long. Without you, our campaign to conquer the Nine Realms would not have gone so smoothly. But you were too much like me back then, too much like the Serpent. I did not want you to follow in our old footsteps. What Asgard needs is a benevolent ruler, not an executioner."

"You troublesome old man." Hela sighed. At this moment, she had finally let go. After being imprisoned in Helheim for so long, she had been consumed by thoughts of revenge. But now that Asgard had been destroyed, the flames of vengeance in her heart were slowly dying out as well.

"Odin, do you have a way to save Thor?" William asked.
