"Tony and I are good friends. We..." After Tony left, Justin kept trying to explain himself.
But Christine wasn't paying any attention to him. She was looking at the television behind him.
Justin noticed that Christine's gaze seemed off. He quickly turned around, never expecting to see Tony on the screen.
"If you own a race car, of course you have to race it." Tony, already geared up, addressed the viewers. "You're about to see a spectacular show: a billionaire's race!"
Christine looked thrilled. Tony competing in a race was huge news, far more interesting than interviewing someone as boring as Justin Hammer.
Justin looked as if he'd seen a ghost. He'd never dreamed that Tony would race in person.
He'd already witnessed Tony's arrogance at the hearing, but now he realized he'd underestimated him. Everything Tony did seemed to set a new low!
"Special event triggered. Hidden mission initiated!"
"Hidden mission: Fast and Furious: Compete in the Monaco Grand Prix and take first place."
As soon as Tony appeared on the television, Athena's voice rang out.
William knew Tony was going to enter the race, and he knew what was going to happen during it.
He had a driver's license, but he'd never driven a Formula One car. Athena wanted him to compete and take first place? That was asking an awful lot.
Just as William was hesitating over whether to abandon the mission, he suddenly remembered something. Hadn't he unlocked a new skin at the hearing?
"Tony and I aren't rivals, understand?" Justin was still trying to explain.
"Excuse me for a moment. I need to make a call." Christine couldn't be bothered with him. She had to notify her editor right away. She didn't want to miss this major story.
