Background
Tang San enters Notting Academy as a work-study student and joins Seven Dorm, where he meets Xiao Wu, Wang Sheng, and Lin Mo. At first, he is thin and poorly dressed, yet he openly reveals his innate full spirit power after Lin Mo’s strength becomes known. 2 3
Despite his talent, Tang San initially considers himself inferior to Lin Mo and Xiao Wu. He regards his Blue Silver Grass as an auxiliary spirit and places his faith in the Tang Sect arts he brought from his previous life, intending to establish and carry forward the Tang Sect in this world. 4
Yu Xiaogang takes Tang San as his disciple and leads him into the Soul Hunting Forest for his first spirit ring. Tang San helps recount Lin Mo’s unusual martial soul, assists in camp preparations, and fights the Datura Snake with improvised projectiles, hidden weapons, and the Purple Demon Eye. 5 6 8 10
Rather than using the Datura Snake’s ring, Tang San absorbs the ring of an Azure Vine. The plant-type ring reinforces the vitality and toughness of his Blue Silver Grass, grants him the Binding soul skill, and advances the Mysterious Heaven Technique. 12 14 16
Appearance
Tang San is initially a thin, somewhat malnourished boy dressed in patched clothing made from scraps. 2
- Black hair. 7
- Carries the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges storage soul tool at his waist. 6
- His Blue Silver Grass becomes deep blue, vine-like, and nearly five fingers wide after obtaining his first soul ring. 16
Personality
Tang San begins as detached, quiet, and reserved, but becomes more expressive over his year at Notting Academy. He eventually jokes and teases during his spars with Lin Mo. 33
He is diligent and self-critical. Seeing Lin Mo’s overwhelming ability repeatedly causes him to question his own talent, yet he continues training, studying under Yu Xiaogang, working at a smithy, and cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Technique. 4 20 35 50
Tang San is deeply attached to Lin Mo and Xiao Wu. His upbringing as an assassin and Tang Hao’s emotional distance leave him starved for affection; the prospect of his friends leaving makes him feel abandoned and desolate. 25 34 35
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass
Tang San’s primary martial soul is Blue Silver Grass. After absorbing the Azure Vine ring, it becomes substantially more durable and better suited to control-oriented combat. 16

Tang San’s first soul skill, obtained from the Azure Vine. 16
- Rapidly deploys Blue Silver Grass around a target. 16
