Background / History

Thirty years before Karotis's arrival, Planet Sadala was invaded by shadow-shrouded monsters that slaughtered Saiyans indiscriminately. The Saiyan population fell by seventy percent; only a fraction escaped or gathered to resist. Sadala left the planet alone to seek power after allied worlds failed to provide meaningful aid. 32 40

During his journey, Sadala discovered an ancient Saiyan ruin on a desolate planet. A surviving inscription described a ritual in which five righteous Saiyans transfer their energy to a sixth, allowing the recipient to become a Super Saiyan God. 40

Sadala returned home and performed the ritual with five companions: Bakbu, Herla, Ashita, Sifuda, and Bote. He awakened as a Super Saiyan God, healed of his prior injuries, and eradicated the invading monsters. When he returned, however, he found that his companions had exhausted all of their life energy and died. 40 41

Believing their deaths to be an inherent cost of the ritual, Sadala initially kept the method secret. After Karotis proposed that the five had willingly transferred their life energy to sustain him, Sadala resolved to strengthen Planet Sadala in their honor—but accepted Karotis's warning not to distribute godly power recklessly among unprepared Saiyans. 41

He is stern with reckless Saiyans such as Caulifla, but recognizes and encourages their potential. He also listens to counsel: although initially determined to spread the Super Saiyan God ritual across the planet, he reconsidered after Karotis explained the dangers of granting overwhelming power without sufficient maturity. 38 39 41

Despite his royal bearing, Sadala enjoys a genuine battle against worthy opponents. Having lacked peers capable of challenging him for a long time, he eagerly continued his fight with Karotis after the latter's breakthrough. 34 37 41

Challenge of the Universe 7 Saiyan

After Karotis defeats Murak and Pavet attempts to intervene, Sadala dismisses his subordinates and accepts Karotis's challenge himself. He initially holds a decisive advantage over Karotis, but continues the fight after Karotis unlocks greater power. 34 36 37

Super Saiyan Knowledge Exchange

Following their battle, Sadala learns from Karotis about Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3. He considers using this knowledge to improve all Saiyans on Planet Sadala and offers Karotis lodging at the Royal Palace, though Karotis declines. 39
