The Cangyu Sect’s leaders feared Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue might claim the Cosmic Vein’s inheritance, while Sikong Jing learned more about Tyrant Soul Venerable’s past. When a demonic puppet arrived, Sikong Jing used the chaos to return to prison with Chai Gong.
Sikong Jing deliberately returned to the prison with Chai Gong, while the Cangyu Sect’s leaders moved toward Gods and Devils Island to investigate the prison and protect their Cang Vein. Chai Gong refused to teleport Sikong Jing out again and set off to find Teng Yue and Ying Sanmeng.
Sikong Jing arranged for Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue to seek Ying Beitong’s inheritance while planning to help Ying Sanmeng recover. The inheritance activated, and Ying Beitong’s phantom granted Ying Sanmeng an inheritance illusion realm while ordering Teng Yue to face a Heart-Testing Illusion Realm.
Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue entered Ying Beitong’s Heart-Testing Illusory Realm to receive his inheritance, while Chai Gong failed to stop them and rallied prisoners to attack. Outside the prison, Chief Sect Master Chai Jiu arrived, put Heart-Eater Locks on the Emperor Realm demon men, and sent three peak Emperors inside to report on Chai Gong.
Chai Jiu ordered the prisoners to kill Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue before they completed their inheritance, while Sikong Jing weighed how to protect them without provoking a massacre outside the prison. The prisoners agreed to attack the inheritance barrier for doubled rewards, setting the stage for a new development.
Prisoners learned that Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue’s inheritance might reveal how to escape Gods and Devils Island Prison, so they protected the gorge while Cangyu Sect sent in its demon forces. As Chai Gong threatened the prisoners with an Army-Slaying Formation, Ying Sanmeng finished receiving the inheritance and released a peak Saint Martial Realm aura.
Ying Sanmeng learned that his inheritance let him leave Gods and Devils Island but not take anyone with him, causing the prisoners to turn against him. Teng Yue then completed Ying Beitong’s full inheritance and gained the same limited freedom, while also being told to wait for someone.
After Teng Yue completed the Cosmic Vein inheritance, Ying Sanmeng broke through to the Divine Martial Stage and fought off Chai Gong’s first assault. Sikong Jing secretly reached Teng Yue and learned that even a stronger Cosmic Vein and allied demons could not match the Cang Vein, leaving him to reconsider how to change the balance of power.
Sikong Jing persuaded Teng Yue to use him as a hostage so the Cang Vein would withdraw and negotiate, paving the way for the Cosmic Vein and Demon Vein to join forces. Teng Yue threatened to kill Sikong Jing on the battlefield, and Sikong Jing pretended to be confused about how he had ended up in Teng Yue’s hands.
Teng Yue took Black Scale hostage to force the Cang Vein to back off while Ying Sanmeng prepared to break through. Chai Jiu learned that both men had gained only demon-man authority and ordered them captured alive, but his confidence faltered when he heard Ying Sanmeng was advancing and Teng Yue had seized Black Scale.
Sikong Jing summoned the demon puppet guardian, which declared him qualified to inherit the first-generation Demon Vein Master's legacy and ordered him to face a trial at the prison's center. Chai Gong halted his attack and reported the news to Chai Jiu, whose composure broke when he read the report.
After learning that Sikong Jing had triggered the Demon Vein inheritance, Chai Jiu ordered Chai Gong to attack without regard for Sikong Jing’s safety. Sikong Jing saw that the prisoners’ refusal to fight gave Ying Sanmeng a chance to break through toward the prison’s center, forcing Chai Jiu to negotiate.
Ying Sanmeng broke through to the second major realm of the Divine Martial Realm and pressed his breakout while Sikong Jing urged him and Teng Yue to use the Cosmic Vein hostages as leverage. Chai Jiu backed down from killing the hostages, but the Cang Vein leaders still had no answer to the threat.
Sikong Jing guided Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue through negotiations with Chai Jiu, using their prison breakout to force him to concede. Chai Jiu agreed to declare them innocent and release the Cosmic Vein prisoners, while Sikong Jing demanded that every condition be met before Black Scale was handed over.
Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue escorted Sikong Jing out of the prison and secured the release of the entire Cosmic Vein in exchange for him. As the hostage exchange began, Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue remained unsure how Sikong Jing planned to turn the demons into their allies.
During the hostage exchange, Chai Jiu triggered his contingency plan and trapped Ying Sanmeng, Teng Yue, and the Cosmic Vein between Cang Vein fighters and demon troops. Chai Jiu declared that the Cosmic Vein would be destroyed, while the two Divine Martial Stage martial uncles hurried to free the shackled people.
Sikong Jing revealed that he had reached the peak of the Spirit Martial Stage, struck Elder Ruan down, and slaughtered the guards before escaping underground. His escape disrupted the Cang Vein’s attack on the Cosmic Vein, leaving Chai Jiu and the others stunned as Ying Sanmeng gained a brief reprieve.
Sikong Jing appeared before the Cang Vein and Cosmic Vein, revealed that he had broken his Spirit Martial Lock and used the Demonic Battle Heaven-Constant Art to shed some of his demon scales. He declared that demonfolk could regain human bodies, and Zhan Hu urged them to embrace the chance to break their ancient curse.
Sikong Jing revealed that the Demonic Battle Heaven-Constant Art could reverse demonhood, and Zhan Hu urged the demon people to see Black Scale as their savior. Chai Jiu tried to suppress the uprising by activating the Heart-Eater Locks, but Sikong Jing revealed that he had already undone them, leaving the demon people free of their restraints.
Sikong Jing revealed that his condition from the first master of the Demon Vein had removed every lock in the demons’ bodies, allowing peak Emperor Realm demons to break through safely to the Saint Martial Stage. As Chai Jiu ordered two elder elders to kill them, Sikong Jing used Forced Troop Control.
Sikong Jing seized control of the demon troops and turned them into reinforcements for the Cosmic Vein, preventing Chai Jiu’s attempt to kill the demons breaking through. He revealed that he was Teng Bahun’s disciple, leaving Teng Yue and Ying Sanmeng delighted and the Cang Vein furious.
Sikong Jing answered Chai Jiu’s questions about his plans, admitting he had deliberately engineered his way into the prison to obtain the Demon Vein inheritance. He defended choosing to help Teng Yue and Ying Sanmeng instead, leaving Chai Ren furious and Teng Yue deeply moved.
Sikong Jing declared himself the future master of the Demon Vein and revealed that Demon Men stood equal to the Cang Vein and Cosmic Vein, igniting their resolve. Chai Jiu threatened to slaughter the Demon Men and tried to split Sikong Jing from the Cosmic Vein by questioning whether its people would truly fight for them.
Sikong Jing rejected Chai Jiu’s attempt to exploit distrust between the demonfolk and the Cosmic Vein, affirming that the Demon Vein stood as their equal. He then revealed his strength by breaking through to the fifth level of the Venerable Realm.
Sikong Jing broke through to the fifth level of the Emperor Martial Venerable Realm and shed nearly all his scales, convincing the demons that they could regain human form. He rallied the Cosmic Vein to fight alongside the demons, but Ying Sanmeng’s order to obey his battle commands stirred resentment among those who still rejected demons.
