Background / History

A million years ago, the Human Race was only one among the powerful races of the Immortal Realm and was regarded as sustenance by many other races. Unlike the other nine Great Immortal Clans, which are Innate Divine Clans, humanity rose as an acquired race through the united efforts of its ancient sages. Its position nevertheless remained vulnerable whenever it lacked a Grand Unity Immortal King to secure its destiny. 845

The Human Race’s conflict with the Golden Crow Divine Clan predates its rise to an Immortal Clan. Humanity was once a vassal of the Golden Crows; after the Human Race produced a Grand Unity Immortal King, the Golden Crows attempted to prevent its rise. Ten Golden Crow Immortal Venerables created ten suns over human territory, killing hundreds of millions. The newly ascended Human Immortal King retaliated by shooting down nine of them, establishing the enduring enmity between the two races. 845 846

In the lower realm’s Spirit Domain, humans initially survived under pressure from the Demon Race. Human prodigies developed cultivation methods and gradually acquired the strength to resist. The first Celestial ultimately sacrificed his life, alongside his clan’s resources, to establish the rudimentary Heavenly Abyss Divine Pass—the barrier that made sustained resistance possible. 504

During humanity’s darkest pre-Great Zhou period, the Demon Race nearly breached Heavenly Abyss. Great Zhou Taizu drove them back alone before dying in battle and strengthening the barrier; Buddhism, Daoism, Confucianism, and sects such as Heaven Sword Mountain also maintained forces at Heavenly Abyss. 504

The Human-Demon War eventually ended in humanity’s victory under Jiang Che. Although the human side suffered heavy casualties, its warriors passed from defending Heavenly Abyss to conquering the Demon Realm; the Demon Race later submitted, ending the longstanding racial war. 737 738

Inheritance Immortal Hall

The Inheritance Immortal Hall is humanity’s principal ancestral safeguard in the Immortal Realm.

• It was forged by the first Human Immortal Venerable, reinforced with precious immortal metals, and refined by Human Immortal Kings over hundreds of thousands of years. 845
• The hall is a Grand Unity Immortal Artifact and the Human Race’s greatest trump card; foreign powers below the Grand Unity realm do not dare enter it. 845
• It preserves top-tier Buddhist, Daoist, Xuanist, and sword inheritances. Human Earth Immortals may study these legacies for insight. 845
• Human Immortal Venerables leave avatars in the hall and periodically gather there to discuss the Dao. 845

Immortal Venerables

Human Immortal Venerables formally hold equal status and may all voice their opinions, unlike the Dragon and Phoenix Clans’ ancestor-centered systems. 847

• The Human Race fields at least eight openly known Immortal Venerables after Jiang Che’s return, a concentration that intimidates neighboring powerful races. 845
• Its leaders chose to support Jiang Che after learning that he had risen from mortality to Immortal Venerable in just over a decade, viewing him as their best prospect for producing another Grand Unity Immortal King. 840 846

Taiyi Immortal Bow and Arrow

The Taiyi Immortal Bow and Tai Yi Immortal Arrow are ancestral Grand Unity Immortal Soldiers reserved for racial crises or foreign invasion. Their use requires the agreement of multiple Human Immortal Venerables. 854

• The Heavenly Sword Immortal Venerable deployed the bow to save Jiang Che and Three Profound Immortal Venerable from the Dragon and Phoenix Clans’ Grand Unity Immortal Soldiers. 858

Humanity’s survival depended on the Heavenly Abyss barrier, maintained through the sacrifices of ancient Celestials, Great Zhou Taizu, the imperial court, and major cultivation traditions. The barrier prevented Demon Emperors from directly invading human territory for centuries. 504 524

Human-Demon War

When the Demon Realm gathered its forces at Myriad Demon City, the Human Race faced a severe numerical disadvantage in Rule-level experts. Jiang Che’s leadership reversed the war, broke the Demon Race’s will to resist, and enabled humanity to take the offensive beyond Heavenly Abyss. 723 725 737

Recognition of Jiang Che

After Jiang Che arrived in the Immortal Realm, Qing Yuanzi and the Human Immortal Venerables investigated his origin. His unprecedented rate of cultivation persuaded them to reconcile his disputes with Northern Cold Immortal Venerable and support him as the race’s future Grand Unity hope. 838 840 846

War with the Three Immortal Clans

The Human Race defended Jiang Che after the raid on the Dragon Phoenix Immortal Realm, accepting the resulting hostility of the Dragon and Phoenix Clans. It later struck the Golden Crow Clan for the Supreme Yang Primordial Qi, prompting all three clans to unite against humanity. 858 860 864 865

Unification of the Immortal Realm

Human Immortal Venerables aided Jiang Che in the struggle for Law Remnant Crystals. After he achieved Dao through Yin-Yang Laws and became a Grand Unity Immortal King, the Golden Crow Clan submitted for 300,000 years, the Dragon and Phoenix Clans became humanity’s guardians, and other powerful races submitted to avoid destruction. 866 874
