Fierce Battle

Weevil stood on the deck, looking up at the spatial energy shooting straight down. He let out a beastlike battle cry of "Awooo! Awooo!" as though he were a child trying to bolster his courage with noise during a fight.

He seemed to have activated his Devil Fruit ability, and his enhanced strength began to show. The air around his arms became almost tangible, like sheets of water washing over glass. He swung his naginata with all his might, and in an instant, a storm of blade wind erupted, churning the surrounding space until it resembled a wrinkled transparent plastic bag. Even the descending light was bizarrely refracted into more than a dozen streaks!

The two twisting strands of spatial energy fell like meteors and collided fiercely with Weevil's blade radiance!

A thunderous boom erupted from the flat deck!

The pirate ship beneath Weevil suddenly sank three meters under the tremendous impact. The sea around its hull instantly burst apart, spraying layer upon layer of water in every direction, scattering into a drizzling rain.

Once the rain had washed away the smoke, dust, and splintered wood thrown up by the collision, Buggy saw Weevil. The latter held his naginata horizontally. One button on his suspenders had burst off, and he was covered in dust and wood chips, but there was no visible sign of injury. His face was simply filled with fury, like a prideful child who had suffered humiliation—far more volatile than an adult, even seized by the urge to fight to the death.

Buggy was not surprised that Weevil had emerged unscathed. Weevil was said to possess the strength Whitebeard had in his youth. Though that claim might have been exaggerated, it could not possibly have been wildly off the mark.

Besides, Buggy had only used around seventy
