Coveting

Whitebeard Jr. stood on the deck of the pirate ship, shouting, "Mom, Mom, there are people ahead! Should we go over and kill them?"

He muttered to himself again, "No, no. What if they know something about Dad? If we kill them, we won't be able to ask!"

"Foolish child!"

Miss Bakkin felt deeply troubled and dissatisfied by Weevil's insistence on searching for the already-dead Whitebeard, but she did not show it. She merely put on an affectionate yet helpless expression. Rather than saying she still had familial affection for Weevil, it would be more accurate to say that his usefulness was something she could not give up. She was no longer the woman who had once been obsessed with Whitebeard. To her, Weevil—who did not share her blood—was merely a sharp weapon that could draw itself from its sheath. In her heart, the only thing that could truly bring comfort was glittering gold and silver!

"The emblem on that pirate ship... it's actually the Buggy Pirates, one of the Shichibukai."

Holding a telescope, Miss Bakkin recognized it. The moment she saw it was the Buggy Pirates, she abandoned any thought of plundering them. Setting aside whether Buggy himself was aboard, their current position meant they were sheltered behind the World Government's shield and had to abide by its rules. If the Shichibukai fought among themselves, one side would surely be hurt, and it would also draw the World Government's displeasure and warnings. Miss Bakkin would not go looking for trouble. At least for now, she saw no need for it.

She said to Weevil, "Son, that is a Shichibukai ship. The pirates aboard belong to the same camp as us. We can approach them, but don't hurt them."
