No one objected, nor could anyone object.
Yang Jian's spear had not only shattered the Soul Fighting Platform, but also carved an indelible mark into everyone's hearts.
Over the following days, the Four Single-Attribute Clans departed one after another.
Only the Speed Clan stayed with the Breaking Clan for an extra day.
During this time, Bai Chenxiang would run to Yang Jian's courtyard whenever she had nothing to do. Though she always used Xiaotian's cuteness as an excuse, anyone with eyes could see what truly drew her there.
In the courtyard, beneath the great locust tree, Yang Jian practiced as usual. Bai Chenxiang lay sprawled across a recliner, her lovely figure fully revealed beneath the sunlight.
Her expression carried a touch of laziness, much like Xiaotian lying beside her.
After several days together, Bai Chenxiang and Xiaotian had grown quite close. At the very least, Xiaotian no longer resisted her petting.
Yet although Bai Chenxiang's hand rubbed Xiaotian's head, her bright eyes remained fixed on the upright young man beneath the locust tree.
How can I get closer to him? If I ask him to teach me martial arts, will he agree? Maybe I should try?
Perhaps sensing Bai Chenxiang's gaze, Yang Jian stopped practicing.
"Want to learn?"
Yang Jian's voice sounded beside Bai Chenxiang's ear, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Yes, can you teach me?"
Bai Chenxiang answered instinctively. Perhaps realizing that she had sounded too eager, she lowered her head somewhat sheepishly.
"Sure. Come over. This set of martial arts happens to be more suitable for girls."
Yang Jian nodded and gestured for Bai Chenxiang to approach.
Bai Chenxiang flipped off the recliner and nearly rushed over to Yang Jian in a few strides. At the critical moment, however, a girl's reserve awakened within her. She forcibly slowed her pace before appearing at Yang Jian's side.
"This style is called Wing Chun. It is a martial art meant for defense against attacks. Watch me perform it once first, then I'll teach you."
As he spoke, Yang Jian walked over to the wooden dummy in the courtyard. He extended both hands, left palm and right fist, assuming Wing Chun's traditional opening stance.
A breeze swept through the yard, blowing dead leaves from the branches. At the exact instant the leaves fell, Yang Jian moved.
Since he was teaching, Yang Jian's movements were not fast; they could even be called slow. Yet those slow movements produced loud bangs whenever they struck the wooden dummy!
"Wing Chun is a martial art that combines internal martial arts with close-range combat. It requires the hands, waist, stance, heart, intent, and force to become one. It emphasizes using the heart to command intent, and intent to guide the movements of the hands, waist, and stance, thereby achieving complete unity!"
His voice was low and carried a distinctive magnetism, leaving Bai Chenxiang utterly captivated.
Yang Jian demonstrated the techniques of Wing Chun while explaining its essentials.
In truth, he had never been a martial artist. Back on Blue Star, he had only studied some martial arts to strengthen his body.
Perhaps it was because he had awakened the Heavenly Eye, but as he grew older, those martial arts that had long been buried deep within his memories became increasingly clear. Wing Chun was one of them.
He was teaching Bai Chenxiang Wing Chun today not to gain her favor, but to see whether these martial arts, which had once only been used for fitness on Blue Star, could produce some wondrous reaction in this world. At the same time, he intended to win over the Speed Clan.
Yang Jian deliberately slowed his movements, and he also had to explain them to Bai Chenxiang. Thus, when Yang Wudi and Bai He entered the small courtyard, he was still demonstrating Wing Chun for her.
"I knew Xiangxiang would be here. What, did you come to play with Xiaotian again today..."
Bai He looked at his granddaughter with a smile, but before he could finish, she interrupted him.
"Shh. Yang Jian is teaching me martial arts. Grandpa, don't disturb him."
Bai Chenxiang raised a pale finger to her lips and softly stopped Bai He.
"Fine, then Grandpa..."
Bai He nodded lightly and instinctively lowered his voice, only for Yang Wudi beside him to reach over and cover his mouth.
When Bai He looked at Yang Wudi in confusion, Yang Wudi said nothing. He merely pointed at Yang Jian, who was demonstrating Wing Chun, his face carrying an expression of both shock and pride.
After Yang Wudi removed his hand, Bai He finally looked seriously at Yang Jian as he practiced. After only a few glances, disbelief appeared on his face. He stared blankly, studying and distinguishing Yang Jian's movements, unable to recover for quite some time.
"You noticed it, didn't you, Old White Bird? This isn't some commonplace basic martial art. It's an entirely new style that has never appeared before!"
Yang Wudi's flushed face drew close to Bai He's ear. His voice nearly trembled as he expressed the pride and joy in his heart.
"Old Goat, are you saying... this is martial arts... created by Yang Jian himself?!"
Bai He's pupils contracted slightly, and his throat, tight with shock, produced a somewhat cracked voice.
"It's more than just martial arts! Look closely at Jian'er's Soul Power. This is a Self-Created Soul Skill!"
Overly excited, Yang Wudi gripped Bai He's shoulder. Only in this way could he force down the urge to cry out in shock.
"Hiss! A Self-Created Soul Skill! Old Goat, what kind of goddamn luck did you have in your past life to get a grandson like Yang Jian?! Creating spear techniques would have been one thing, but he can actually create martial arts too?"
Bai He drew in a sharp breath, half from shock and half because Yang Wudi's grip was far too strong. Yet he did not dare cry out in pain, fearing that he would disturb Yang Jian as he practiced. He could only mutter a curse to ease the pain in his shoulder.
Fortunately, Yang Wudi noticed Bai He's face turning red from holding it in and promptly released his grip. Even so, Bai He's entire arm had gone numb and clearly needed time to recover.
About half an hour later, Yang Jian finished the final form, drew back his fists, and stood still. He slowly exhaled a long breath of stale air.
"You... Grandpa, Grandpa Bai, when did you get here?"
Because he had been fully focused on practicing, and because Yang Wudi and Bai He had noticed something unusual and chosen not to disturb him, Yang Jian had not sensed their arrival.
"We've been here for a while. Jian'er, what was that martial art you demonstrated just now called? Was it something you..."
Though he already had a guess in his heart, Yang Wudi still wanted to hear Yang Jian say it himself. He immediately looked at the grandson who had brought him so many surprises with nervous anticipation.
"Wing Chun. You could say I created it myself."
The martial arts from Yang Jian's past life did not exist on Douluo Continent. Since Yang Jian had brought such martial arts from his previous life into this world and used Soul Power to perform them, he could, in a sense, be considered the founder of a school. So he shamelessly accepted the credit.
