Overview

Soul Rings form from the remains of slain soul beasts and are absorbed by Soul Masters through their Martial Souls. A ring’s age and attributes affect its power, while absorption can be dangerous because of a powerful soul beast’s death-resistance or spiritual shock. 5 21 34

A soul beast may also voluntarily sacrifice itself, offering its life and Soul Power to a Soul Master without the usual absorption restrictions. Such sacrifices can create exceptionally high-level rings and avoid the normal danger of soul shock. 13 21 294

Yang Jian’s Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear is exceptionally selective: it shattered or rejected numerous unsuitable rings before accepting compatible ones. 5 6 His Heavenly Eye Martial Soul has separately received the sacrificed million-year Soul Ring of the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm. 294 305 A second, seven-hundred-thousand-year spiritual-type ring is later displayed alongside Sky Dream’s ring. 327

Soul Rings can also serve as reservoirs of power beyond their ordinary Soul Skills. Yang Jian detonated all his rings during his battle with Di Tian, including his million-year ring, to fuel an all-or-nothing spear attack. Subsequent developments revealed that lingering soul consciousness can be awakened within a ring, allowing a sacrificed soul beast’s spirit to manifest. 316 323 324

By his battle against Sword and Bone Douluo, Yang Jian displayed nine rings in a black, black, black, black, black, black, red, black-gold, purple-gold configuration. His seventh ring continued to grant Heavenly Law, Earthly Form. 365

Yang Jian killed the Green Blade Mantis, producing a pale-yellow Soul Ring. When his Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear touched it, the weapon vibrated; the ring subsequently shattered rather than being absorbed. 5

Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff Ring

Yang Jian’s first ring came from the sacrifice of Xiaotian’s mother rather than an ordinary hunt. 21

Void-Mark Spirit Sable Ring

The Void-Mark Spirit Sable’s eighty-thousand-year ring is visually distinct: silver-white threads flow across its black surface, identifying its space attribute. 225

• Yang Jian killed the spirit sable in a single strike. 225
• The ring settled directly onto the shaft of the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear before its power entered Yang Jian’s body. 225
• It became his sixth Soul Ring and granted him rapid space traversal. 225

Sky Dream Ice Silkworm Ring

Sky Dream Ice Silkworm, a million-year soul beast, sacrificed itself and merged with Yang Jian’s Heavenly Eye Martial Soul. 294

• Ten golden rings initially encircled Yang Jian during the sacrifice before Sky Dream’s body became white halos that entered his body. 294
• The resulting million-year ring manifested as a massive platinum-white Soul Ring behind Yang Jian’s Heavenly Eye. 305
• It is distinct from the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear’s conventional ring sequence. 303 305

After reaching the hundred-thousand-year level, a Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff sacrificed itself to shield Yang Jian from Di Tian’s attack. 290 303

• The sacrifice formed a blood-red hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring and a resilient blood-colored magnetic field around Yang Jian. 304
• Yang Jian’s first ten-thousand-year ring responded to the seventh ring, expanding and distorting toward it. 304

Di Tian’s death left Yang Jian an eight-hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring, initially described as scarlet-gold. Eight dark-gold patterns marked its surface, and its energy carried the tyrannical aura of the Dragon Clan. 320 321

• Yang Jian began absorbing it while sitting beside the ring with the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear across his knees. 321
• Residual energy from earlier absorbed rings remained stored within his meridians and dantian, contributing to his expectation of another explosive breakthrough. 321
• The ring became his eighth and advanced him from Level 80 to Level 89. 323

Deep Sea Demonic Whale King Ring

Purple-gold motes rose from the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s corpse and condensed into a Soul Ring beside a purple-gold trunk Soul Bone. Unlike Di Tian’s flamboyant scarlet-gold ring, the whale king’s ring had a restrained, profound glow and an aura likened to the vastness of the sea. 329

• Yang Jian first collected the whale king’s Golden Whale Rubber, while the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear’s Three-Headed Flood Dragon form consumed the trunk Soul Bone. These were separate spoils from the ring itself. 329
• Standing on the floating corpse, Yang Jian circulated his remaining Soul Power and drew the ring toward his head. Its initial resistance quickly subsided. 329

Ye Nishang absorbed the forty-thousand-year Phantom Begonia ring as her seventh Soul Ring. Its shared origin with her Nine-Heart Begonia Martial Soul made it particularly compatible. 59 60

• The ring’s age was at the upper limit of what she could withstand. 59
• Its same-origin nature offered a higher degree of fusion and the possibility of a secondary Martial Soul evolution granting a spiritual attribute. 59
• During absorption, black threads of energy entered her body and Martial Soul, while a faint black halo appeared along the begonia’s petals. The ring then began pulsing with her existing six rings. 60

Ghost Shadow Mantis Ring

Zhu Zhuqing obtained a pale-purple thousand-year ring from a Ghost Shadow Mantis with Yang Jian’s assistance. It joined her two existing hundred-year rings. 175

• The beast’s agility, attack power, and cutting techniques made its ring suitable for her Hell Spirit Cat Martial Soul. 175
• Yang Jian restrained the beast, allowing Zhu Zhuqing to kill it with a dagger. 175

Tang San’s Fourth Ring

Tang San initially selected a Crypt Demon Spider because its traps, webs, and terrain control suited his control-type Blue Silver Grass fighting style. However, Yu Xiaogang recognized it as a ten-thousand-year beast and rejected the absorption as beyond Tang San’s physical limits. Xiao Wu additionally warned him about soul shock. 337 338

• Yu Xiaogang had initially judged both encountered spiders to be over five thousand years old before correcting his assessment of the Crypt Demon Spider. 337 338
• Tang San ultimately absorbed the purple ring of the roughly six-thousand-year Man Faced Demon Spider instead. 337 342
