"One of our field operator squads has gone missing in Victoria. According to the last signal they sent back, they were in the Klebrason region within Victoria," Graphite explained.

"The Klebrason region..." Naturally, Miss Melantha was no stranger to that name.

"Ah, right, you're originally from Victoria, so that makes things easier—it used to be part of old Gaul before Victoria annexed it."

"According to reports from Rhodes Island's overseas office, that region was struck by a Catastrophe many years ago, and its towns were destroyed as well."

Melantha nodded as she looked over the mission briefing in her hands.

"We don't know the condition of that field squad. They may still be alive, though of course we must prepare for the worst. It's been over forty-eight hours since we received the report... Still, I think the latter is unlikely. They probably just got lost in the wilderness."

With that, Graphite sighed.

"If Supervisor Bai Ye were still here, he'd probably have found them by now."

"We can't always rely on Teacher," Melantha said softly. "I'll go find them."

Graphite nodded.

"Yes, those unlucky people are counting on you..."

After thinking for a moment, she spoke again.

"I heard Londinium was in turmoil not long ago. Once this mission is over, you can take some leave and go home to see how your family is doing."

A delighted expression appeared on Melantha's face. She truly had wanted to find an opportunity to visit her family.

Londinium had nearly become a battlefield before. Her teacher had stepped in to save everyone and helped the new king ascend the throne. Though a new order had been established, the entire country had indeed suffered a terrible disaster.
