After returning home and witnessing Bibi Dong’s hunt for Xiao Wu’s mother, he prepared to enter the Star Dou Great Forest for his third Spirit Ring.

• Wu Ling awakened the Heroic Spirit Disk with Innate Full Soul Power, refused Yu Xiaogang’s offer of mentorship, and accepted Su Yuntao’s invitation to join Spirit Hall.
• Wu Ling chose a Taillow for his first Spirit Ring, gained Sasaki Kojiro’s abilities, and killed a Mandala Snake and a pack of Howling Moon Wolves before Gui Mei brought him to Bibi Dong.
• Wu Ling explained the Heroic Spirits and the Age of Gods to Bibi Dong, who accepted him as her disciple and arranged for Gui Mei and Yue Guan to train him.
• After years of training, Wu Ling reached level twenty, killed a Nether Ghost Leopard, and gained Hassan of the Hundred Faces and her eighty-eight Clones as his second Spirit Skill.

Wu Ling secured Medea as his third Spirit Ring, recruited Oscar, and used his research and cultivation techniques to strengthen his position in Spirit Hall. After reaching level forty, he set out for the Star Dou Great Forest and found a blood-soaked village near its edge.

• Wu Ling killed the Silver Moon Wolf King with poison and his Swallow Reversal attacks, then absorbed its Soul Ring with Xiao Lan and Xiao Hong and gained Medea as his third Spirit Ring.
• Wu Ling demonstrated Soul Breaker to Gui Mei, returned to Spirit City, and told Bibi Dong about his visions of an orphan with a food-type Martial Soul and Innate Full Soul Power.
• Wu Ling created Xiao Fen and assigned her research into Soul Power, magecraft, cultivation, and potions, while Bibi Dong asked him to consider entering the tournament and later invited him to watch.
• Wu Ling met Xue Qinghe, recognized him as Qian Renxue, and discussed their abilities and Spirit Hall’s plans for strengthening his auxiliary Martial Soul.
• Oscar awakened a Sausage Martial Soul with Innate Full Soul Power, joined Wu Ling, and traveled to Spirit City, where he became Stephen’s disciple.

Wu Ling survived a village massacre, defeated the Soul-Devouring Ghost Sword in the Silent Mausoleum, and continued training while Qian Renxue grew closer to him. Meanwhile, Tang San awakened his Blue Silver Grass, joined Nuoding Academy, and gained his first Spirit Ring, though he sensed his Martial Soul was incomplete.

• Wu Ling entered the massacred village, uncovered the Skin Slave’s deception, destroyed it, and followed its trail north toward the Star Dou Great Forest.
• Wu Ling became lost in a strange forest and met Ali, who brought him to the Silent Mausoleum and its elders.
• The Straw Elder forced Wu Ling to fight the Soul-Devouring Ghost Sword, and Wu Ling defeated it, absorbed its forty-thousand-year Spirit Ring, and took Ali’s embroidered shoes with him.
• Wu Ling returned to Spirit City, reached Soul Power Level forty-three, and fought Qian Renxue, whose Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul could not overcome his formations and abilities.
• Wu Ling revealed that he knew Qian Renxue’s identity as Xue Qinghe, trained with her during her visits, and urged her to reconsider her views on strength and authority.
• Cao Silang discovered Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power, and Spirit Hall received the report but Bibi Dong ordered it not to interfere.
• Tang San became Yu Xiaogang’s disciple and joined him in hunting a first Spirit Ring in Soul Hunting Forest.
• Tang San defeated a Sharp-Scaled Snake, absorbed its Spirit Ring, gained the Blue Silver Flying Knife, and felt that something was missing from his Blue Silver Grass.

Wu Ling conquered Slaughter City, gained Divine Slaughter's Domain, and strengthened Spirit Hall through new allies, research, and cultivation. The arc ended with Wu Ling and Spirit Hall’s Title Douluo killing Er Ming and defeating the Sky Azure Bull Python as Xiao Wu sensed the deaths from afar.

• Wu Ling opened the Soul Martial Shop, prepared for his journey, and entered Slaughter City, where he defeated the Black Armored Knight and won his first arena matches.
• Wu Ling reached one hundred consecutive arena victories, refused the King of Slaughter’s offer to skip Hell Road, and overcame its trials to leave with Divine Slaughter's Domain.
• Yu Xiaogang sought cultivation methods from Bibi Dong, who refused his request but promised not to harm Tang San after learning his identity.
• Wu Ling returned to Spirit City, reunited with his clones, and raised his Soul Power Level to fifty before Xiao Fen identified a divine fifth Spirit Ring candidate.
• Wu Ling found the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well with Ghost Douluo and Yue Guan, recruited Dugu Bo by offering a cultivation method, and used the well’s herbs to prepare potions.
• Dugu Bo and the two Title Douluo advanced in strength, while Wu Ling emerged from the spring with stronger Spirit Rings and learned that Xiao Fen’s research could raise their ages.
• Wu Ling agreed to Dugu Bo’s request to spare Xue Xing, then joined Bibi Dong and other Title Douluo to attack the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python at the Lake of Life.
